TCV5 HURRY THE HELL UP thread

Well then I have a problem with his entry. He DIDN'T ask for pre-approval to use a concept car, as I figured he was using the normal Type S version. I'm 1/2 in a mind to just can his entry for that reason.

That and that suspension setup looks eerily default; I know the RX8s ship with equal spring rates with the FC suspension and everything else is default...

And the power level isn't even guaranteed to be within range. (Although it likely is)

The power isn't the issue at the moment, my issue is that mazdaman did not ask me for permission to use a concept/tuner car. You did ask, so did some others....this peon did not.

Aw come on guys! Let's keep him! Hell, I could use the comic relief!

For the suspension, he's asked us specifically to keep everything at default, EXCEPT lower the car to 106 mm. He's also asked us to (get this) buy a "tubo" stage 2. We're also supposed to install a racing transmission and limited-slip, but (apparently) has offered no settings, so I'm assuming they're supposed to be set a default???!?

The brakes are the only thing that are really tuned. :dunce: 15/14....way too strong! But heck, I've just driven and partially scored his ride...somebody's gotta come in last! Why not him? :yuck:

Maybe we are being a biit too harsh. I mean, he is trying. We can't mock him just because (at the risk of making us sound arrogant) we are better at this than him. Perhaps we should quietly point out to him the error of his ways, and if he continues to be so abysmal, then we roast him out of existance. But give the kid a go, or do what I do, which is ignore his existance until he starts acting like someone who belongs on this forum. Mocking him will only get the mods on our tail, which would be detrimental to us, not him.

The rules were there for a reason though senamic and he ignored them. He's lucky I'm letting his ride still be judged in the first place because it was CLEARLY stated that if you wanted to use a concept vehicle or tuner car then you had to get pre-approval off me first.

RJ, roj, mcsqueegy, they all asked first before they started, why couldn't this guy?? That reason alone makes him cannon fodder to me.

Also the proper way to introduce yourself into a fourm is to study the habits of the forum goers then generally build up a reputation so your seen as a positive member. That is often the reason why I hardly ever support new garages that come out of nowhere.

Because we've all been around for a fairly long time and know how these things go. :sly:

Remember when I was new? I made sure I didnt get anything wrong so I'd be welcome in the future. :D:tup:

I don't think the mods would care at this point. I don't think most of them really care if the guy sticks around or leaves. It took mazdaman forever just to start using his shift key, after all. It's only because me and a few others had faith in him that mazdaman got this far. 👍

Personally (and in all fairness & seriousness) I wanna see his car in the contest. Just because he put some effort into entering. I already wrote his car up & scored it. Yea, he's probably gonna be in last place, but [neanderthalhighschoolcoachmode]it's not about winning or losing, it's playing the game. :)

Well im pretty please with the Civic, 1 second isnt that much considering it was tuned for a different track... and a couple of seconds of the Integra so.

Ill be back if for the next one if i can get a GT4 disk.

Has my old hat style of tuning Merc with different track gearing lost yet?:P

Oddly enough, I just finished yours... I won't say anything except that the gearing is pretty off. AND it's the slowest middleweight so far :P And I just thought I'd say, the middleweight contender who's got my highest score so far ALSO has a perfect score for laptime. Only just, mind you.

I've got 3 middleweights to go, and am I assuming we're going to allow mazdaman's RX8 Concept I?. I've left it till later intentionally because I saw that you guys were mentioning it.

So....let's have a vote among judges. Do we allow mazdaman's entry or not? His will wind up being slowest if it's in.

I vote: AYE

How about: if there's 2 ayes and 2 nays, that we allow other entrants to also vote?

Truly i dont have to be entered lately what i have realized is that my tuning for that car was horrible i dont know what i was thinking. But i have been getting a little used to the site that tune i had up before was a embarassment so i dont want it up. But also i have been tuning my cars thanks to the advice everyone has giving me. Also mafia_boy pan american is next week i told you ill keep you posted on the numbers.

I'm amazed at his lack of good grammar, but that could be easily explained if he's not a native of the States. Are you from Australia, mazdaman? :P

Ohh, that's cold!

Nope i have cousins their but im from trinidad and raised in barbados.

Well, see, that's what I said in that other thread...he's living in New York, but not American. Don't they speak English in Barbados, tho? :odd:

Anyways, thanks for clearing this up mazdaman. We won't have your car in the TCV5. It's done.

Thanks for that, now all I have is the RX7 Bathurst and Adamgp's Shelby Series 1. With the RX7, I'm going to get the 10.0km version to make it more accurate. Problem is that might take a while, I've got 40 weeks in the used cars to go :( So middleweight might be a little longer...

Eagerly awaiting your results Macca.
With laptimes your car pulled, I'd be pretty eager too :D Oh look! There's an NSX in my rearview mirror! Oh wait... it's gone!

:grumpy:

It's ok, only our accents suck. Too bad my accent's English :sly:

@Macca: I meant to include the weeks on which the 10km can be found but (obviously) forgot. I'll get on it now and edit it on to here.

EDIT: RX-7 Bathurst comes in week 51 only. Also, I appear to have put the wrong year in the setup title, it's a 2001. Feel free to use the alternative setup if you don't want to buy a few hundred sets of tyres.

RE-EDIT: @ Codename-L: ouch... For the record, not all Aussies are inbred, illiterate, knuckle-dragging philistines. I, for example, am semi-literate (on a good day). Expect a savage, hate-filled car review in the next few days (j/k).

It's ok, I already knew it was available at week 51, but I'm on week 10... I've just been buying and selling heaps of cars to get the days going. Found a few nice cars too :D

Just spam the wheel shop. Used wheels are fastest as you can just keep scrolling in, clicking the first one and so on so forth.

Suggestions, Macca:
wk13 has 6(?) 10 km specs
R31 1987 in wk 14 & 28
several chances for the Skyline Midnight Purple if you're keen on colours
NSX type R '92 10km wk 21
Fairlady Z '83 10km wk 22
also Toyo Celica GT-Four 86 10km wk 22
Civic '93 10km, wk 30
R32 10km '93, wk 27
R33 '95 Vspec 10km, week 30
Another 10km Skyline '93, week 32
Quite a few 10km specs in wk 33

Also, Pug T16 turns up on wk 52, so don't forget that if you do go through them all. After 7 game years (ie 14 appearances) I only have three due to not paying attention.

Codename L is disqualified for insulting the judges. :P jk. Like PF has already mentioned, we aren't complete morons. Some of us (moi! :P) have a tendency to show the more "colourful" side of the Australian persona, where some of the others are quite mild mannered tykes. :sly: And then you have Paulie, who is still a mystery to the rest of us Aussies. :D

Anyways, thanks for clearing this up mazdaman. We won't have your car in the TCV5. It's done.

I'll wipe him off the list too afterwards. 👍

Now, I'll be offline for the next few days finalising stuff before I leave so don't PM me, you won't receive a reply (Paulie, I'll answer your PM after I move, I had a read of it!!). TCv5 judges, you guys know what to do if anything comes up....use your heads and talk amongst yourselves if you find any problems with anything, decide at your own discretion and I'll approve it. 👍

Until then boys & girls, talk to you all sooner rather than later.
