Nice work macca on the judging. It's a bloody hard job and you've done remarkably well
I just have nothing to complain about the performance, except that the performance in the higher gears was slightly lacking. That, and the fact that 6th gear had no use, was all that got to me. Chuck in some more power and it'd be perfect!
Nothing unexpected happened when I was cornering, but I felt that the turn-in was a little too stiff. Actually, the whole car is a bit stiff. It's enjoyable, but if I could improve it, I would. Otherwise a great car.
I like the fact that you took a low powered, useless car and made a fun little toy. A lot of marks were added due to this.Hey I'm not too disappointed with that result considering I made the tune 1-2 years ago and it was never tuned to this track which is where I lost most points.
Good to see I'm not alone in thinking that, I was unsure whether I described it properly. Due to the stiffness, I was easily able to find the car's limit.I am very pleasantly surprised by this result.
6th is left useless here because while much of the tuning was done at Motegi I kept an eye on practicality at other circuits and this seemed a decent compromise. The lack of pull at high speeds can be attributed to the FD being a bit of a brick next to, say, an NSX and the full strength dosage of downforce. More power can be used most likely with very few to no ill effects but it wouldn't be able to go direct head-to-head with Roj's most driven NSX then. (As it stands, 2hp is the only thing separating the two because his is worn out but oil changed)
Yeah, I actually think the Spirit (as well as all the other S8 cars) is if anything too good of a chassis; the earlier models feel much more alive but sacrifice a good bit of speed and consistency.
When you drive like I do, you'll get that in every car you driveWheelspin and brake lock-up? Did you test the same car?
I liked it because it was fast, yes, but also controllable at the limit. If the car was running 1'19's, but wheelspan in third gear, I would've given it a reduced score. You had a good balance 👍Sweet, my Shelby scored a solid 78 and the fastest lap time. Not too bad.
Well, I'm not too surprised... but there are faults, don't forget! It really is a shame the G-Limited doesn't have too much power, but your score proved that laptimes aren't everything!Second place?! I didn't think it would do THAT well.. But, I'm definitely not complaining. 👍 keep up the good work. *puts his axe away.. fow now*
Stop your crying Jonn, it's only ONE judge.
I swear if you all got $1 for each time I say something regarding waiting for ALL the judges scores before TCv5 is over, you'd all be wealthy boys.
Grats a112, your S pulled a higher score than my R.
Nice idea 👍, I'll put it in my sig as well.Just an update to let you guys know, I've put the current scores next to your individual cars in the first post of the Results Thread where all the links are. Just click the link in my signature to check your ride from now periodically for progress score updates and all the scores will eventually be beside each car and we will have our winners. 👍
Remember, I'm only one judge! Parnelli could give it 90 for all we know...oh well thought i would have been able to do better than 69 :S Thanks for the judging Mcsqueegy
I swear I gave you 77, not 76 I could've managed a 1'20 if I wasn't reviewing your car at 3am . But yeah, while the car may not be so drivable at Motegi, it could be really good at a hilly track, like El Cap or Trial Mountain.76
First person to review a car of mine, just as I like it, mcsqueegy. 👍 I'll be sure to take your review in mind the next time I take the car out for a spin. Sadly, there's no way to guarantee next tuner challenge will be in Motegi.
Anyways, I agree with you fully on every point of yours: the braking, the wheelspin and the oversteer all made this car harder to control. But they will be worked out, I promise 👍
2nd place on lap times, right? Not bad at all, considering it's 50 years old
Good to see you're happy with the result. Bear in mind though that you can't satisfy everybody with the one setup! And yeah, I had trouble being consistent with your car5th, with only 1 point behind 4th, and 8 points behind 1st. Pretty damn close!
I'll agree with the consistancy issue, it's as consistant as I am so yeah. I laughed at the X and Square bit.

Back to the workshop for the ol' NSX-R.
I accept cash.Stop your crying Jonn, it's only ONE judge.

Sure thing, I'll include his name next to yours.Hey Mcsqueegy, I don't want to be a pain, but can you edit Camryfan's name into the results for the RX-7 Bathurst? It was a collaborative tune and he possibly/probably did more work on it than I.
I was surprised as much as you! The car had a much higher 'fun factor' than all the other cars, except the Clio. I prefer cars that I can enjoy, and you certainly made it enjoyable.Nice write up,i'm much more than satisfied with the score especially with the fact that i don't believe in FC Transmission that maybe would bring me one more point or so.
Didn't expected that, especially on short track like this where weight does matter, but happy with the results.
Cheers.
Macca might add camryfan's name but when I do my results, your name will be the entrant PF but as part of N-Tune performance (camryfan's shop), as that's more appropriate.

Sweet mate, just wanted to make sure he got equal credit (or blame) for the tune.
What PF is trying to say is that he doesn't want to be associated with my gearbox. (lol).
But jokes aside, blame is more appropriate.
