Okay replay should hopefully be working. Not super eventful. Just weird and cool. Was in there with a few others posting here.

So they screwed up the whole matching thing. I thought something felt wrong entering a Manufacturers Cup event at 9 PM flat. They are usually at 9:10 PM... Some people are probably having panic attacks at PD in Japan. Doesn't look good for them and the FIA...

They'll be laughing in a few hours in Europe when they'll wake up and see this epic fail...

Yeah when they switched over to the next races after the last manufacturers Cup last night some kind of errorhappened.

It stinks that we can't see our points for manufacturers. I was rated first in the world and first for my manufacturer ;)

The points from that bugged race counted towards the Nations Cup. I got 1200 something points.

Went to the manufacturers race and got warped to Bathurst. During warm-up there was a mass disconnection leaving just me and two other Gr.3 drivers to qualify and race. We went through the whole event, and I came in 2nd, gaining around 1000 points.

Random... I entered Maggiore 9PM and got at Bathurst lol

Same here. Was really looking forward to the Maggiore tace, and then, the load ends and we are in mount panorama lmao.

And the GR3 cars were with BoP off. My viper was a flying rocket on the straights compared with the others gr3 cars.

Both nations and manufacturers cups are displaying the same calendar now. That's why theyre mixing the players i think.

Ugh that just gave me a tiny glimpse of what could be. Felt so cool having a Gr3 car fly up behind and letting them by cleanly.

I hope someone at PD didn't just panic and yank the power cord on the servers lol They should just let it run til the end. Who cares if it bugs out the points, or just erase all the point rewards for that round.

And I was just thinking earlier today that maybe they should create a Gr5 for slower race cars. Stick some of this FWD stuff in there (detuned to more appropriate levels), a Miata race car etc. Then run Gr4/5 events. Hell, stick Gr3.. Give me a 30 car endurance race on the Ring with ten cars from 3/4/5.

I was pushing and I couldn't believe how quick you were! Seems like the no BoP is a reasonable explanation for the huge gaps in performance. I'm not that bad usually haha

How did they not realize this last night when it started happening?

Yeah, it was showing only 6 races for the manufacturers cup calendar instead of 7, and todays race had disappeared from it.

Really really weird stuff.

Id love multi class racing tho. 2 groups of 12 cars would be fun.

I entered the manufacturers race and it put me in the nationals race but for the first time in over 50 hours playing Gran Turismo, I got disconnected at the beginning right before the warm up.... it dropped my Sr from s down to a. Must have taken it like I quit.

They didn’t close the events they just completely merged them or something so if you try on it counts as both. It’s broke af

That's bad... Thankfully, it shouldn't take you more than 1-2 races to get it back.

I’m on Maggiore right now as a GTR Gr 4 with six other people in their manufacturers Gr 3 cars lo
Same thing happened to me.
I was prepping my RCF GR4 for and expecting Bathurst mount panorama, then I got warped into Maggiore against GR3 class cars. Half of the grid dropped out.
Frustrating to prepare for a race event and then have it switch on you!

Well it seems they went in and did something, I am able to look at the point rankings and the entry times for tomorrows races in both FIA events. Most Importantly, it doesn't crash the game anymore.

I won two from two last night. That never happens to me, and I mean never in a race with randoms. Won the Manufacturer's Cup race with ease, qualifying first and not being challenged for the lead at all. I was driving the AMG GT3, and most drivers had a DR below B - placed as such because my SR had dropped to a C. Got an A before the Nation's Cup race at Bathurst. For that race, I chose the GT by Citroen Group 4 and did a 2:17.4 in Practice. Frustratingly I couldn't get a good Qualifying time because there was too much traffic, and did an abysmal 2:20 lap - placing me sixth. However very quickly I came to realise just how little knowledge the Japanese drivers had of Bathurst. Their lines were wrong, cars were all over the track, going off the track, going into the wall and driving like idiots. I didn't get into any trouble though, and by Conrod straight I was in third. Passed first and second on the last corner on the inside and never lost the lead. However, I was bumped by the fastest Qualifier before The Dipper but he got a penalty - ensuring that I could take the win. Damn that Citroen is good. It's cornering and stability is excellent.

depends on your driverrating...

Iam A/S and i got for the win today 1500 points so u are C or D/S?

OK, so a question for Polyphony Digital, I'm pretty sure the FIA doesn't award more points per finish position based on a driver "rating" even though "ratings" do exist in FIA endurance racing. The FIA WEC rates drivers as P : Platinum - G : Gold - S : Silver - B : Bronze but that DOES NOT determine how many points they earn for a given finishing position. I don't know of any real world racing series that awards higher points for a finish position based on some arbitrary "driver rating" designation. F!, WEC, NASCAR, Rallye, IndyCar, etc. are all the same points for a given finish position, nothing else.

I can't spend 24x7 playing what is rapidly becoming a less than satisfying game. The number of times I've been punted off by someone driving like they were under the influence, is extremely annoying especially as I take extreme care to avoid other cars. Now the points are awarded based on a driver rating and it is absolutely impossible for me to compete with players with a higher driver rating earned because they spend more time on the game than I can afford.

So what's the use? Why participate if the true skill of the participant cannot be accurately demonstrated? World Championships are won based on points per finishing position, not on how many times you participate. Max Verstappen gets the same points for an F1 win as Lewis Hamilton, even he is in F1 only a few seasons and Hamilton has been participating much longer.

The points awards need to be based on finishing position alone, not on driver "rating." If GT Sport is supposed to reflect "real life" racing then do it. Anything else is both patently unfair and I'm going to ask for my Playstation Plus fees to be refunded.

So do you think it makes sense in GTS that a slow driver (DR D) who wins his race gets more points than an alien who finishes 2nd, tenths behind another alien?

In GTS we have a world/regional ranking where everyone is included. If DR D drivers could get the same points of DR S/A drivers but way easily, what would be the point in getting to DR S/A? Improving your DR just to get less points due to tougher competition? Makes no sense IMO.

F1 has a driver rating of S (well, you need a Super Licence to compete, so let's call it S).

If Verstappen spent this weekend mucking about in British F4 instead, where the driver rating is C, it doesn't seem reasonable to suggest that he should get his points counted as if he'd earned them in the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix.

Beat the cars you're up against and you'll score better than if you don't, and you'll advance in DR more than if you don't. When you start racing against DR A/S fields, your points will be directly comparable to them.

What are the things (exactly) that can reduces the points you earn each race? And what could be the maximum points you can achieve and how?
To score well:
A good SR and good practice time will put you in a good strength field, where there's more points available.
A good qualifying time seems to give you a better score than a poor qualifying time.
A good finishing position

To score badly:
A poor SR and poor practice time will put you in a poor strength field, where there are fewer points available.
A poor qualifying time seems to give you a worse score than a good qualifying time.
A poor finishing position

If you qualify on pole and win with the fastest lap, but you and your opponents are all DR D/E ranked, you'll not get many points. If you qualify and finish in 8th when you and your opponents are all DR B/A/S ranking, you'll get hundreds of points.
