o_O What are these pictures you speak of? Is the rotang ready? Is it awesome? Is it installed? So many questions, SPILL!

Congrats on your rebuilt engine I just seen the pics on fb
You did? Did you find Turblown on there? Or did i have you as a friend and not know?

Its getting there.:dopey: Its killing me though. Forza thinks that it should put about 300hp down, if boost stays at 14psi.

I always had turbo blown lol also up the injectors and you will see 400 check up risenrpm.com Also why is the top sleeve open thinking about semi perfi lol

What are you doing for fuel system and management? Not the stock turbo at 14psi? Sorry don't have the S5 tails anymore but thought I'd look through your thread to see what they'd go on. Might sell my T04E S5 hybrid, would suit your street port much nicer than my boat.

Unless your stock turbo is coming back as a hybrid or bigger compressor wheel/machined cover...

I was kinda getting ahead of myself anyhow.
Yeah, probably not though, thanks for the offer. But Turblown knows what their doing and they said the stock turbo will be fine, I don't know for what, but it will be properly ported. Either way I'm sure it will pull strong. The injectors were cleaned and 550cc primary and 750cc secondaries with an Rteck1.7,I think, ecu, that was awhile ago. As well as a walboro 255.

Mini setback, Turblown didn't notice that my manifold had a crack in it, even though the invoice already had that in there. But there is a picture of the "tarbow". :)

Sucks man! I have S5 manifolds and turbine housings laying around if you need em. If your S4 turbo is a real early 2-piece heat shield version my turbine housing won't fit though. Kinda surprised to see someone wanting to use the S4 twin scroll and not port match the smaller inlet. Are you still using your factory twin scroll solenoid? From the turbo pic it looks like you're setting up to use the stock system again. Stupidly huge ported waste gate?

I'm going to be running Rtek v1.5 (came with car installed in ECU already) with stock low imp 550's cleaned & flowed @ RC Engineering. 7psi waste gate actuator on the stock turbo I rebuilt, and a AFC Neo.

I ran across another set of S5 tails that are much cleaner if you're interested. ;)

Very nice, you should post some pics when you get a chance. 👍

But yeah, Turblown ported the stock turbo. So whatever way it ends up, He said it should be nearing completion....

LOL my RX7 is in a million pieces, but slowly putting it back together. I've seen your build thread on RX7 club, I have one going there too, check it out...

7 years neglected, no motor. :(

Good luck mayne, should be sweet when done. 👍

I dont even know where my thread was aside from the few pictures here and there......

Oh I am, doing my best to keep it under 3500rpms and under 5psi. Just did the first break in oil change 10w-40. Then I also need a new TPS its amazing how much a broken engine masked that problem.

Then I need to send out my ECU again and get an upgrade to an Rtek 1.7 and then at 500 miles bring it back to Turblown and he would recheck it with a portable wideband sensor at full throttle.

Finally at 1000miles I can switch to full synthetic.

And now it also uses PREMIX! So every gallon costs about .33 cents more. :)

Pictures soon, though nothing to really look at aside from it being at the new house.

So here is whats been up with the R1
I added a USB charger, painted the under-exhaust black and got a custom plate.

You may also notice that it has the 49th engine made for the 2004 years.:D

And the new plate, if it made you laugh that or say "huh"? I have succeeded.

And then finally some "meat and potatoes"

New hurst shifter installed.

So yeah, I actually decied to get the Rtek 1.7 Ecu upgrade to have a proper tune for what I have, on top of that I ordered a new TPS and that should be all.:dopey:

Oh hey, thanks. I know that after the old one, I wanted to do a double DIN unit because the stupid little cubby box that goes underneath is useless anyway.

And now, has ThatMan been up to?
2012-09-29134150.jpg

I wanted to take another picture of the sweet new Hurst shifter while I was on a desolate frontage road.

Family photo. :)

For the things I didn't show, I got the Rtek 1.7 Ecu, and a new used TPS as well as spark plugs oil and a filter for the next oil change, as that's coming up in 200 miles!

2012-10-03201723.jpg

This is the FB I saw at a meet but my phone messed up and this is about the only one that made it. :/
2012-10-04173822.jpg

Changing the oil, plugs and filter.
2012-10-07180132.jpg

Fog delete, Turblown said they need to go, and for some reason when using them a little while ago, they I guess created enough heat that the oil cooler wasn't working properly and oil pressure was dropping, letting them cool off and stay off, oil pressure was fine, so whatever....Subaru time!
2012-10-07162145.jpg

Now I know how much it weighs!

2012-10-07123938.jpg

I cant help it!

So, interesting results....
First the pics:

100_4790_zps3ea6c6ee.jpg

100_4792_zps317c81da.jpg

100_4793_zps183bacf6.jpg

Okay, so the old engine for reference made 225 Hp with about 14 psi.
Now.....
JR3-1_zps21b73ab0.jpg

With only 8psi or so of boost. I admit I was disappointed, but, as you can see the AFR was a little high so Turblown didn't want to push it and said I shouldn't be boosting too much around town.:( (But 1st and second I could let it rip a little.) ;) I actually had to put 5 gallons of VP 110 race gas. I sure got boned on that, as it was $80 for that. But since we couldn't do at least 1 full pull without it,I went ahead for it.
So:
JR2-1_zpsa0161210.jpg

JR1-1_zpsec60fae8.jpg

So now... I have to run race gas for another month or so here and talk to Rtek on what to do next. THEN I need to get a boost controller. :)
And there is a video, you can hear a minor port job so when it gets posted it will be here. :D

Didn't you get your turbo rebuilt too? Is it now a bigger compressor wheel and machined stock compressor cover? Or just rebuilt with stock comp wheel/cover? I take it you have a v1.7? I see the ID sticker on your cooling panel, so what size secondaries? Still on the stock FPR? Any way to monitor EGT? But its funny you can tell its a v1.7 or lower because its always leanest right at 3,500 RPM lol!

Rtek will probably just tell you to upgrade to a v2.0 so you can start pulling more timing and add a real fuel map. Seeing how you already invested in the chip its not much more for the upgrade + a Palm.

I also thought your car was an debadged AE, but realize now that you have no bronze tinted glass and porno red interior! :)
