The 20 tracks issue is really bugging me

I am worried now that some of the tracks may be ''standard'' models upscaled from GT4 like they did with the cars. What do you guys think?

This is the only in this entire game that bugs me (i don't care about standar/premium cars) I mean how will I live without trial mountain!!!

The way I see it:

gt5tracks.jpg

Total locations: 22
Total variations: 70

Obviously hardly any of those tracks are confirmed, I simply used the ones from GTPSP, added WRC, NASCAR and SuperGT circuits and the rest of the already confirmed GT5 circuits. Combined with the tracks on the GT5 Prologue weather screen, lo and behold it does come to somewhere around 70. I don't expect they will use all the NASCAR or WRC locations, but there could be a number of other circuits not on this list that we haven't seen yet either. Oh, and some of the fictional tracks are in their countries which were given to them in GT2.

I like the sound of rally bulgaria, but as we all know things that aren't popular in america (for example!!!) will NOT be in this game. Just like GERMANY's NORISRING!! (It's probably one of my favorite if not my favorite race course.)

I don't think PD would take out iconic GT courses like Grand Valley or Deep forest. Plus they hardly take time to model since they have nothing to scan really - it's all made up by PD.

This is becoming a game of minds...

Emu76, would you send a resume to PD? Great track list! Some of us Americans HAVE heard of these from more than the GT series. I like your proposal of adding Norisring and I'll up you one and add the OLD Hockenheimring as well as the A1 Ring to the list, may they rest in piece...

Yeah, I want to see GT classic tracks, plus new fictional ones as well. 👍

I really really hope that the 40 track info is true, 20 would leave far to many favourites on the cutting room floor.

Plus there is always a chance that this time around they make the good choice and leave the hong kong track on the cutting room floor.

Deep forest and Grand valley in the GT5 engine with day/night transition....awesome.

The track count still isn't finalised, but it doesn't worry me at all. 20 tracks with variations is still plenty, a pity the likelihood of Bathurst is almost nil though now. I still want more cars converted to premium.

And you think that if you complain about it, Polyphony will do something about it? I don't think so - they may read the forums and the blogs, but one of the main reasons why they stopped at 200 was because they couldn't do the other 800 and make the November release. So congratulations; you'll single-handedly put the release date back. And before you think that it might be worth it, just think of the reaction such news would get here.

Is anybody wondering if the same standard/premium categories will apply with about the same criteria for tracks?

Standard tracks = tracks directly taken from GT4/PSP with some improvements, no weather effects or day/night cycle
Premium tracks = tracks made or re-made from scratch, possible weather effects, night/day cycles, increased detail, etc.

In this wayhe inclusion of all tracks from GT4 and GTPSP as speculated (from a news source though) quite some time ago would be very likely.

I have reason to believe this is the case. Although it doesn't really fit with what Polyphony have said so I'm not sure.

I'm perfectly happy with 20 tracks. I'll be spending most of my time at the Nordschleife anyway 👍

The Day/light should be available on all tracks as it is a seperate effect and not a bit of a track. They don't remake teh night feature for each of the tracks their including it in.. its a graphi feature involving the shadows of models and lights etc...

But I'm sick of this preium and not premium crap.

Hey PD, Kaz, whoever is incharge....

Give us what you have now and then fix everything up and chuck it in the next game.

Currently we have
Premium Cars and Normal Cars
Premium Tracks and Normal Tracks
What next?
Premium Damage and Normal Damage
Premium graphic effects and Normal Effects
Premium Races and Normal Races (prem has qualifying)

Oi, PD, what youve done is created 10% of the Mona Lisa, and then photoshoped a picture of Kaz to look like the rest of it. You've already screwedw the pooch (per doggy) here, release what you ahve .. But please for the love it, next time... (and next time better also be on PS3, not PS4...),

downgrade to upgrade.
We know you can do big, but how about small
300-400 cars.... all the same great quality.
50 tracks with variations all done to the same level

Just so you can pick it up and play, rather than think.. wait, is this prem or normal or what..

Yes but the tracks still have to modelled in such a way that they actually work within the lighting engine, with the correct properties to reflect, refract light etc and cast dynamic shadows.

I blame Jordan. He's the one who started all of this when he introduced Premium accounts to go alongside the Standard ones.

BUt it shoiuldn't be that hard to fix the stuff up.. I mean its not like it has to be completely modelled. It just needs to have its shadows tied to the lighting engine.

Unfortunately Kaz and PD have got the stick to far up there @r$3 to do anything only 90%...

I think thats just the general problem.

Everything done will be done brilliantly. Unfortunately, because 90% of the effect is created in 10% of the time and 10% of the effect in 90% of the time and Kaz is a perfectionist.... rather than have everything at a pretty bloody sweet place.. its going to be 10% incredibly behind belief and 90% meh... is this really worth the money?ness

I'm all for quality over quantity... unless taken the extreme... where reasonable quantity is forgotten about for perfect quality...

GT5 will be like a very dark chocolate mouse. You wont have much of it, but what is is brilliant.

btw... PD, if your reading this.. and dman you, you should be... Please make a big career mode.. all will be forgiven if we have a great expansive career mode. Maybe only 50 tracks or something, but each one can be done with sunset, night, day short, long, with different cars... and premiums can be used most of the time.. and I will forgive you... but if Career mode is jsut a bunch of races as youve sacrificed it to give us blooming flowers for photomode.. (worst mode for a RACING GAME) then there will be blood...

Is Kaz pointing a gun at your head forcing you to buy GT5?...

*sigh*

How many tracks was in gt4? Kaz has already stated that all tracks from gt4 will be in gt5 + new ones, so thats plenty enough isnt it?
