The best GT5 cars according to stormbringer!

I just registered in this forum a couple weeks ago and come back to this thread almost everyday! Please stick with it stormbringer, we really appreciate all this info/testing that you do for us! You keep it nice and organized which I like, this thread is a very valuble source of info for us GT5 fans. Keep up the good work!

I don't even post much in here, but had to put in my 2 cents when you started talking about leaving, stay with it bro!

cheers strauss, i appreciate the feedback :)

Hey may i just wanted to say thanks for taking the time for posting this info. It has really got me wanting to go try out alot of my cars i have bought but never driven and keep a log like your doing. Again thank you for doing the list its much appreciated buddy.

P.S. God only know how many hours you have spent at a loading screen through out this list. I dont have the greatest collection but if you see anything in my garage you would like to try out pm me and ill send it your way.

thanks, your right :) ive spent countless hours waiting at loading screens while testing cars. I wish that PD would include a link to the garage in the practice area.

Appreciate the offer, but i have all the cars i was really interested in, for now :)
There are a few novelty items id want to get in the future. Might post up a list after i complete my current goals.

Just dont tune your car online and you will do fine getting used to your offline tune. You could also be doing it completely wrong too and not realize like I was doing a few days ago, now that I know how to do it and how everything works my cars handle a lot nicer.

Another car you might like stormbringer is the V8 Vantage at 914 HP

that offline/online tuning setups will get confusing and troublesome. Im thinking about going as far as setting up another profile with just my fave online cars.

I think i might have the vantage in my ucd at the moment. Tested the DB9 and wasnt really impressed so i ignored it. I'll get it when i get home.

eric: no need to grind at indy nomore, now that one can duplicate and setup more than one account. last time i did some grinding was 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Oh you just made more accounts and are trading for your cars now?

well, im not trading anymore. Just wrapping them up.

I made the separate accounts mostly to get around grinding. you can easily do the same and save yourself a big headache.

I made a couple of accounts, did the seasonal races on em, Saved up to 7M cr. I buy cars from those accounts and send em to my main account, and then restore the save file (with the 7M cr.)

This way, i can buy, mod and keep duplicates. all without having to do that stoopid grinding.

eventually, i will offer the most coveted cars for free to everyone from one of my dupe accounts on a first come, first serve basis.....in a couple of weeks, after im done buying, trading and transferring.

Engines DO break-in online. I had to revise my hosting restrictions earlier, because my Lexus SC430 has gained BHP during the session. Likewise, I have noticed the power drop, for cars that I have driven, when they are in need of an oil change.

The only difference that I can find between online and offline is constance grip. From what I have read here, fuel has no weight in GT5, so whether it is used or not, will have no bearing on the dynamics that govern the car. 👍

Are you sure it went up in freerun? I know it goes up in online races but I've done hours worth of freerun in my lounge and it stayed constant just after an oil change which is when it should be changing the most.

Am not in a good mood today. Work pissed me off and so did this forum.
I will be moving my thread to some other forum soon.
This forums rules seem a bit too a**l for no reason, for me to post in.
Accidentally use an abbreviation and your posts get deleted.
spend all that time to help someone out and out comes a mod to tell you your english isnt right, and deletes your posts.

I guess if it happens again, i'll move. Its not worth the stress to me. Wasting my time posting up stuff and getting penalised for minor stuff. Its disrespectful to the effort one puts in.

Imagine if they discover a "u" in my first post and delete the entire post. I would be pissed off!!

That thought just scared me, im gonna copy paste my test list in my computers notepad the second i post this msg.

Anyone signing up for this forum should definitely read the agreements with a microscope before they agree to join in.

The mods here will penalise you for absent mindedly writing "u" but they wont for writing "btw"..careful.
Agreed, that sucks. If the idea is to keep up the image of the site, that wouldn't make sense either because google results show thread titles, and there are tons of thread titles with embarrassing spelling mistakes.

really bad slang and curse words i support fixing up a 100%.
spelling mistakes, i feel sympathetic towards non native english speakers.
What ruins the image of the site is the overly police like mods, who will threaten you, give away speeding tickets like its candy.

Trading finally comes to an end today. I dont have to send any more cars.
But do have to transfer.

Have puchased all the rally cars available in the OCD and all the premium ones, i should have 15 to 20 rally cars collected in total.
Next im going to do a rally car based test (sunday). Im not really used to dirt rally tracks etc, so i need to choose an appropriate tarmac track for them.

suggestions? Im thinking about cote de azur, trial mountain or even laguna seca (just because of that corkscrew)....or should i stick with deepforest?

Or should i even bother with doing so? they are rally cars and should logically be tested in rally conditions. looking forward to your input.

I would say one road course that has a lot of technical stuff like Trial Mountain and then 2 rally stages. Seems like the best balance imo.

Rally cars on rally tracks :) I have already started a rally test, but since my PS3 died I only have a time on the Ford Escort.

I can tell you that the best rally car I've driven so far is called the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Super Rally Car (Idk if Lancer is actually in the name).

Couldnt help but notice that the Furai in your list has 533 hp. It can get engine mod stage 3 AND a turbo, and if I recall correctly that puts it at ~570 hp.

Might shift things up a bit ;)

Ive got some lancer evo rally car, dont remember if its "super"
Will look out for the super one if i dont have it.

Maybe you can do all the rally cars on a rally track, and post up the results + your impressions and i'll add them to the front page :)

im leaning towards trial mountain. Tried out a few tracks today. eiger, trial mountain, cote de azur and a couple of eiger dirt rally tracks as well.

Dont think i'll do a rally track, i will need to make major adjustments to my technique for that, and it feels like it will take quite a bit of work and time. Am not much of a rally driver.

Drove my suzuki SX4 rally car on all the above tracks + nurburgring and i have to say, its an awesome car on tarmac. Very solid performance. Great handling and grip. under 7 minutes at the ring on my first lap. loved it.

If the other rally cars turn out like this one, im gonna have a completely new fave list. shame none of the rally cars can be modded above the 470hp mark. These cars handle max-modding really well too.

really? I'll check it when i get back to my ps3 tomorrow. thanks.

Sure I could do that, my test however contains only the old rally cars, maybe I'll get some of the new ones eventually... Just too bad I have to start over again, but since I love rally it shouldn't be too big of a problem.

I've tried the Deep Forest with some of my race cars.I had traction 1,srf on and abs 1.The testing was just 3 rounds and whatever happens :)The easiest car got first etc etc and that says a lot about the track but also the behaviour of some of these race machines!

I got my hands on a BMW LMR and a vertigo race car so tried them out.The BMW is very nervous imo ,perhaps it needs tuning that i can't do.I tried some things and i got a decent time but in a race she is going to loose cause of luck of consistency. Here's the BMW time and I'll edit the vertigo in a few

BMW-----LMR RC 1:01,176

Ok,i have big problems with the vertigo !!First turn after starting the trial it flipped over lol!!Next turn and it won't turn no matter what!!I'll do A LOT of tuning and let you know...

Gillet Vertigo RC'04 1:05,880

The above time is not representative of the pos the vertigo is.If you see one in your ucd steer away from it asap!!

yup, that BMW is a little hard to handle, but she will give you good lap times, in the range of the 787b. try playing around with the LSD.

The vertigo is a pos. drove/tested it once, never will again.
whered u flip it? ive never flipped a car at deepforest. im thinking its possible at the first right after the start line.

I was at practice mode-free race in the deep-forest track. When the trial starts you are before the last corner of the track, just before the start-finish straight, the one you usually take with a lot of kms.The car was plain stock though. It was really funny, you know, not a good start to a time trial etc

Now would you look at that... the road car was faster... So the conclusion about the GT by Citroën cars is: the race car is just a road car with a number and some extra body kit... worth the 3.56 extra million? You decide :D

Btw, I can already reveal that the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Suepr Rally Car (what a long name!) is the best rally car by ages... hope you all agree with me once you try it, it's just... wauw..

This is absolutely great. You did a lot of work here, and it was definitely worth it!

thanks, appreciate it

ya, that citroen GT race car really isnt worth the money.

you do have to brake less and it might corner better which does make it easier to drive. its a little bit more responsive too.

The road car is just as fast but a bit heavier, so logically needs more braking.
It achieves a slightly better w/p ratio after modding (will achieve a higher top speed) + you cant install any aero parts on the road car. Race car does look more menacing though :)

Forgot to check whether i have the super evo, will check today for sure.

Stormbringer did you gave lap times for these and i missed them or they were erased later??
