Basically a GT copy.
Push an unfinished game and try and make it finished with updates.
:banghead:

How do you know this for sure? From what I'm reading inCloud seems to be referring to the fact that only half the game is unlocked in the closed alpha/beta tests, and that they hope that the rest of it is opened in the wide open closed beta. Of course, I could be wrong, but that seems to be the assumption I'm able to make.

IDK, really. Alpha stage should be unfinished product by definition and beta should be finished but unpolished product. So, there is chance that last test was some kind of development mule and beta will be complete featurewise. On the other hand, I dont know how they plan to balance most complicate part of the game in two month without massive amount of testers

Well, this is better than fill your game with unfinished or bad mechanics and redoing half of the game from scratch(The Crew 1)

Given how TC2 is centred around a racing festival theme much like the Horizon series, I don't see the lack of police as a big deal. I would even go as far as saying implementing police would make the game feel awkward - how would the law keep up if you suddenly transition from a car to a boat to a plane in the space of 30 seconds?
Maybe they block the feature of change vehicle on police chases and you can only escape from the cops with the cars and bikes.

That would be a good compromise, just lock the switch vehicle selection whenever you're being pursued. It'd be cool if the police would chase you in boats and helicopters too though. Hopefully they're just locked away in the current code and will be there at launch, if not they'll probably be released at a later date with a patch/DLC.

The car list and trailers look great for the new game but I couldn't buy it after the original, the game economy made it too hard to progress. I completed the story mode without driving anything other than the Mustang I started with because money was so hard to come by. If it's better this time around I'll probably buy it cheap in a few months.

Well, that’s it, the game is unplayable. They got the Regera wrong.

Preorder cancelled.

Here's a excellent video showing off how the tuning and upgrade system works. Thank god its not a heavy grind anymore and also we can actually tune our cars. Look at this.

..now, don't get me wrong, that all sounds lovely, particularly because you can earn more than one part per event and how they seem to mostly affect "secondary stats", i.e. slipstream length, nitrous recharge etc..

..but I do hope they've taken notice of what Payback did and what made that a 🤬 of a 🤬 when it came to upgrading cars and included an actual alternative to having to win parts every time. The Crew 1 did it by unlocking a part for purchase for vehicles of a certain spec once you'd won it once with that spec. For instance, a Gold Tier 50 Exhaust with acceleration boost. Once you'd won that in a Perf Spec vehicle, you could go straight to the shop and buy Gold Tier 50 Exhausts with acceleration boost for all your Perf Spec needs.

If they do something in that vein, I would be completely fine with it. There's still the element of you-can-get-different-"perks"-by-winning-races and you would still need the money for buying them, but it (probably) wouldn't completely 🤬 over gameplay.

List of real world tracks for the time attackers.

Mazda raceway Leguna Seca(TC1)

Seabring international raceway(TC1)

Daytona Speedway(rumor for TC2) which makes sense because daytona beach is in the game.

Willow springs(TC1)

Indianapolis motorspeedway(with infeild)(TC1)

Indianapolis Drag Raceway(TC1)

Long beach grandprix curcuit(TC1)

New jersey speed dome(TC1)

New jersey international raceway(fictional?)(TC2)
Interesting new grandprix circuit.

and the rumor of road america...which i hope is true. I REALLY hope this is true.

Willow Springs didnt exist in the crew 1, it was a different track placed where willow would've been. Both it and Sebring have now been replaced by two new fully original race-tracks with varying layout options as well. The fictional indy oval and the really small egg-shape oval does remain, as does Laguna Seca. and there's also that new race-track just nearby New York that was shown in early previews last year is still there too. As for long beach, i dont expect the layout to be the same as it was with the number of changes to the map but who knows. As for road america, well chiacgo still covers the area where it would show up on the map so no, that is out of the question too.

As for me - i'm glad there'll be more fictional tracks to test vehicles around and try out. There also seems to be a new fictional track set between San Francisco and Seattle, but no preview footage has gone close enough to parse its layout yet.

From what has been said from other people, you can seemingly swap performance parts around to other vehicles you own in that same class with no penalty, though while this isn't 100% confirmed it at least sounds like some of the grind of repurchasing all these parts for other vehicles does seem to be mitigated on a per class basis.

You can swap anything inside one class, so its not like NFS. System still grindy, maybe even more than TC1.

..so there is an element of the win-it-once-buy-as-often-as-you-like-for-that-spec thing from TC1, if I understand you correctly there? Or are you forced to actually, properly swap parts? I.e. if I have one part on a Pagani Zonda and want one like that on a McLaren F1, I'd have only that one part to play with? I don't think I've come across any info on that in any video not from a 🤬 YouTuber, hence my asking someone who clearly knows their stuff and is capable of delivering a straight-up answer.

I do suspect that by "class", you're not just referring to the general road/boat/plane/offroad thing, in which case yes, I could see obtaining good parts for all vehicles becoming quite the grind.

no, but you can swap part between cars in one spec. You cant produce duplicates, afaik.

..right. That changes things a fair bit, and I'm not sure I'm 100% comfortable with that. But thank you for taking the time to really spell it out

Edit: ..yeah, I've gone and done the maths. The numbers you've provided gives me a total of 41.209 races to have one of every part type in every class. And that's before we take into account how that all relies on you getting at least two parts of a new type every time and that it doesn't take part "level" into account, so I'd expect the number to be.. let's call it "significantly more than that".

Now, if we compare that to TC1, with its 5 specs, 4 bonus types, 11 part types and 200 different levels (50 unleveled, 50 bronze, 50 silver and 50 gold), I get.. 44000, or 47.300 with level 51-60 Platinum parts. Assuming one always got a part they didn't already have, that's the max. number of races it'd take for one to unlock every single tuning part for purchase.

"level" into account
leveling up isnt that hard, actually. 40 levels in 1-2 hours. Especially, after you get your first maxed vehicle in class and can swap maxed details from it to other vehicles.

Also, 29 parts, isnt right number cause you cant equip Aerobatics part at cars, etc

So after watching a video of the car list, I’ve grown a lot more interested in this game. I still don’t know how I feel about the boats and planes, but I’ll defenitely give them a chance.

In any case, this game will make the wait for Horizon 4 a lot more berable.

Some things that still bother me.

•The mirrors still don't work. Like come on this been a issue since the beta for the first crew. Thought they would've done something about it in the second crew.

•Still can't tell if we got a full blown livery editor. Blackpanatha kinda hinted at it and said he'll talk more about the livery customization soon so we'll see.

•The contact physics.

•8 players max for online. I was really hoping they'll bump it up to 12.

Other than that the game is looking really good. I know i known...i been constantly asking about the livery customization but damnit I want my vehicles to stand out. Gt sport finally has a full blown livery editor along with a bunch of other racing games so you would think a game like the crew would have one. I hate the lame sticker options. I be glad when we finally get details about that area of the customization.

Oh yea something else I just realized that really bothered me on the crew 1 that they finally got on the crew 2..... The ability to paint your rims!! Finally.

The livery editor is like the livery editor of Forza or NFS Series (especially Forza)

It's the only thing I can say about that because you know, NDA (and I'm breaking it with this slightly)

I never played any of the forza game's so I have no clue about how their livery editor works.

Well, the GT Sport livery editor is more like an advanced version of the Forza livery editor (because on GT you can upload some SVG files in the Game for example)
