I was driving in the UK (going to Aberdeen, so the north) yesterday, and had this thing happen with the AI cars;
E61D3A414980F33599721AB1B8358A401E2CBC71

The car there is beginning the overtake. The thing is though, it's only happening when the AI is overtaking and not when exiting the motorway. I'm on the downgraded version 1.10.[something], so it's most likely fixed in 1.11+.

I can do without the side skirts, I rarely saw them in Italy. Similarly I never saw any of the massive front bullbars that are offered in the game in real life.
There's plenty of 6x trucks with side skirts here, could be different on the continent though. I like the clean look of the skirts. The bullbars are very rare though, but it's nice to have them in game.

The only real reason you don't see many trucks with bull bars is there are very few owner operators to company fleet trucks, if you own a fleet of trucks it is not financially viable to spend that sort of money for something that doesn't affect anything, if you went to a truckfest, you will see plenty of modified trucks with all sorts on that do get used commercially, often the owner of a truck company with their own personalized truck, or a single truck owner operator. We just see more because everyone is like an owner operator online, have their truck modded and personalized to their preference.

Kind of something stupid that I just thought of but, does anyone else think that an app for Android and iOS that can display the information that is shown on the navigation system be cool? It would allow you to turn it off on the computer screen giving you a slightly more authentic feel.

I'd absolutely love having that!

Lately I've been seeing quite a lot of those VTC's (virtual trucking company) on the MP forums, and I thought that maybe we should join together to make a :gtplanet: VTC. :dopey: I'm not completely sure how everything about it works yet, but if some of you are up for it, I'll gladly digg more into it.

Some of the trucks have the display as a screen on the dashboard if they come with a nav system. So you could turn it off and only use the display in the truck. It might not be noticeable because the virtual one is usually covering it. I know the Volvo FH and the Iveco Hi Way have it.

I would be game :D

That's a great idea, especially if we have a group colour.

I just tried Multiplayer for the first time. I made a new profile because I want to keep my multiplayer stuff and singleplayer stuff separate. When I finished the tutorial, I need to get a quick job, but there aren't any available. Is it supposed to be like that?

Virtual Trucking Company sounds cool. May I suggest blue for a crew colour?

Quick jobs don't work in MP, so you'll have to play up until getting your own truck in single player, then head online.

Or just play up until you can get a 100,000 loan in SP, buy the truck, and then play MP.

I suggest Red. Every person's country on this thread page has red in it...so I say red.

Since there seems to be some encouragement for it, I've set up the VTC with MyVTC, which I heard about on the MP forums, and I think I've figured out how their service works now. Each of you interested will need to engage in a private conversation with me, as I'm given a unique ID for you all, which you'll need to sign in with, to get to the company pages, on MyVTC. I used "GTPlanet Trucking" for a start as the name by the way. :D

The main meaning for this is only to have fun and make the game a bit more realistic, so I won't force anyone into doing things they don't wish to, like buying similar trucks, use similar paintjobs or etc., but if the colour we decide is included, that'd be nice. :dopey:

My MAN has it with the upgraded interior. But, I have a bit of an issue not being able to see the ti!me remaining before I need to sleep, money, ect.

I'll have to check into this MyVTC thing! Sounds like something I would have wanted to do on MP from the beginning!

I used to not like the European flat nose trucks, but now I prefer them over the American trucks. Probably has to do with their designs looking much better and sleeker than they did 10 years ago.

I kind of agree with you. I see sooo many long nosed trucks in America, I get tired of them. I'd like to see some more flat-nosed trucks here. Our streets may be wider, but trucks still have problems making wide turns in small towns and streets with 3 lanes(turning lane).

That makes me wonder why US truck drivers don't go for a cab-over style truck there? There should be enough space left still for the sleeping cab size your truckers are used to over there, and still have a shorter truck with probably a better turning circle.

As far as I know SCS haven't posted any sort of release date yet, but (mid-late) 2015 sounds possible I think. 👍

Some more of my trucks, I've been trying out more mods:

When is American Truck Sim expected to be released. Some time in 2015 I assume?

Reslistically you should look at about 3 years of development time, of which 1 year has been passed now I think.
The problem is mostly content creation. All those assets (grass, buildigs, signs, lamp posts, American AI cars, static cars, trash cans, other objects) have to be single handedly created by someone for each part of the map. Which simply takes up a lot of man hours.
For example creating a car for pCARS takes around 3 months from what I recall. Creating a track is a lot more.

So I reckon you can expect it around November 2016.

One would think they could use some assets from this game, but I don't know if they are planning on upgrading the textures/models a lot.

Sure some stuff would be transferrable, but that's not a whole lot.
I have been to the USA myself and know that their streets look nothing like ours. Even the trees are different.

Also as you say, they might want to push the boundaries and come with something prettier than ETS2. Every developer tries to deliver a better and more beautiful game with every new game they release, so why wouldn't SCS? ;)

Well I wouldn't know, because I've never been to Europe. I know the License plates are very different, and even one states plates looks different to another.

They've done a great job with the plate system in ETS2. All plates are country, and even region specific depending on where you picked your trailer up, or where your truck is 'registered'.
