A suggestion of what a rebrandes Force India could look like in Aston Martin trim:

That does nothing for me. It's so...generic. It looks like an FGT from Gran Turismo. The only thing I like are the yellow accents.

Honestly that looks like a Sauber test car.

I'm not in favour of the Golf livery either. Doesn't work on an F1 car.

My hope is that they go with a green main colour. Actually that livery with Green instead of blue would be quite sharp in my opinion.

I see no reason to doubt him - sure, he has a technical partnership with Ferrari, but "B-team" implies that Ferrari will have direct control over parts of the team's operstions.

Haas tipped to run a yellow livery next year, but they deny being a Ferrari B-team:

If it's the same yellow carried in the Ferrari logo then the colour makes sense... but personally I think it's more likely to be the yellow from the Total logo. They sponsor Grosjean, I think.

It's been a clever "strategic partnership" and I imagine that any visible "B-team" workings will be well hidden, if they exist at all.

Total also have a technical partnership with Renault. They make bespoke fuels for the team. Given that it is estimated that Petronas and Shell gave the Mercedes and Ferrari teams up to 60bhp horsepower alone this year, I doubt Renault will willingly give them up; likewise, it's in Haas' interests to use Shell.

It could be Shell yellow/orange!

You're right :D

Total have congratulated RG and wished him well as their 4-year partnership comes to an end. I was rather wondering how Total+Shell sponsorship might work... not at all, as it transpires.

Autosport reporting on the possibility of Pascal Wehrlein joining Manor, but that if a deal is to ve done, then it won't be finalised until January at the earliest.

Found a fan-made mock-up of a Renault livery:

Formula One needs a villain. An actual villain, not one fabricated by fans and the media because he's a rival to a popular driver.
Can only imagine the inner narcissistic rage of Hamilton in Mexico when the fans cheered Rosberg, as opposed to the booing he actually wanted. The forced smile on his face made my day. Hilarious!

Teddy Yip Jr. is in the process of evaluating the possibilities of reviving the Theodore Racing Concern name:

http://m.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/122184/theodore-evaluates-f1-return

Theodore as we know it might have been out of Formula 1 for thirty-odd years, but the brand is apparently big in Asia and Yip has a lot of recent experience running open-wheel teams; he's behind the Status Grand Prix efforts in GP2 and GP3, and he has had some tie-up with Prema Powerteam in the Macau Grand Prix in recent years.

I'm surprised that it's taken this long for a team from Hong Kong to (re-)appear in F1.

Maldonado comes across as the bumbling fool to the actual villain, but since there isn't one...and he just the hapless guy that gets laughed at and then looks truly confused as to why...it's more like teasing the kid on the playground.

I was going to argue how he should not have a better looking car than the protagonist since it is more likely to get destroyed. However in every example that I can think of, it is the protagonist's car that is destroyed.

And that is perfect, because it is normally Maldonado who comes out of his crashes better off...

Who needs a "driver villain", when there's Bernie Ecclestone? We had fifteen years of Max Mosley, and the continual skullduggery that has persisted since the garagistes have undermined the power of the constructors, while the latter sculpt the rules and bonuses to their benefit.

Unless Lewis Hamilton tests out his Death Star on Pluto, Pastor Maldonado intentionally crashes into a school bus full of disabled children, or Nigel Mansell's mustache strangles Her Royal Highness, there's never going to be any comparison...just sporting rivalries that rarely have any basis in the concept of good-versus-evil.

Indonesian media are reporting that Rio Haryanto has signed a contract with Manor, and that it has been forwarded to the FIA's Contract Review Board for approval. An announcement is expected some time in the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, Sergio Marchionne has revealed that when Ferrari and Red Bull were talking about an engine supply, they seriously considered rebadging their engines as Alfa Romeos before the deal went through. Marchionne still wants to see the Alfa Romeo name in the upper echelons of motorsport, though that does not necessarily mean Formula One:

http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/marchionne-still-pushing-for-alfa-romeo-return-to-racing/

I suppose that they could rebadge the engines they are giving Toro Rosso, but then "Scuderia Toro Rosso-Alfa Romeo" is a bit of a mouthful.

Well, there had been recent rumorings that Alfa Romeo would be back in LMP2 in 2017, so maybe that is the other motorsport they meant.

Thankfully the American team has the shortest name. Haas F1. :P

To be fair, the unofficial full name is "Haas F1 Team that is totally not a Ferrari B Team or a NASCAR team - Ferrari".

Or my preference, "Haas F1 Team America 🤬 Yeah! - Ferrari"
