Missed a good chance for a pun there :P

Probably not the one you had in mind, but:

Sorry :D

We had fifteen years of Max Mosley, and the continual skullduggery that has persisted since the garagistes have undermined the power of the constructors, while the latter sculpt the rules and bonuses to their benefit.
Given the current state of affairs, it is becoming increasingly clear that the constructors have entirely too much power to shape the regulations. Attempts at reforming the rules have been stymied by teams with a vested interest in sinking them. Barely a week ago, Mercedes' Aldo Costa condemned the proposed 2017 regulations as stupid, and it's pretty clear that Mercedes are only opposed to them because ot means narrowing the field of competition and threatening their position.

Not sure why most of the HAAS mockups include a large Ferrari prancing horse logo of some sort. Ferrari do not allow other teams to carry that logo.

Because nothing says Formula 1 like Budweiser.

Or any other alcoholic beverage, but at least Bud has been on a couple cars prior so the theoretical mock up is appropriate.

And then just add this image somewhere....

Now this is what f1 needs. Good job Robin

And the kicker is they could possibly rebrand the engines Dodge because it's apart of the FIAT group and basically do a backwards Renault-Infiniti thing. But instead of promoting luxury...you promote MURICA!!!

Also I'd laugh if the car looked anywhere in shape to this...cause then that means someone gave HAAS the 2003 champ car build guide.

There's a big difference between labels like Johnnie Walker and Budweiser. One is a premium brand; the other barely qualifies as beer seeing as how chemical additives are used to accelerate the fermentation process.

No one is saying they're the same but big Alcohol is like that of big Tobacco of the yesteryear and that they're willing to spend tons of money to get television time across the globe. Also Johnnie Walker isn't the only one, Martini isn't nearly as refined as it once was and Smirnoff might as well be as formal for Vodka as Budweiser is to beer. The point is none of them say anything F1 related, Martini is only accepted due to it's long tradition of being on race cars through the many decades which is fine. However, when you analyze what it is, it's no more related to racing in product than an American beer that may not even appear on the F1 car.

I mean just because it's a premier sponsor on the flagship car of SHR in NASCAR doesn't mean anything. The F1 car could easily sport go daddy all over it, if that's the case.

Aston Martin are reportedly shying away from Formula 1; their board of directors postponed a vote on the proposed deal until January at the earliest.

More on that from Sky, from a personal point of view I'd love to see the brand in F1 but I'm not sure what it would do for them - Ferrari are a different matter because of their F1 history. Aston Martin could lose more than they gain with a return.

Darn WilliamsF1 hipsters...

Yeah Williams had a partnership with Budweiser for years and years, there was even an advert which unfortunately I cannot find anywhere online :banghead: of Montoya driving around a large circuit shaped like a crown. I remember thinking at the time 'I wonder what that course would feel like!'

I totally agree, an American team should run with at the very least a US branded engine and through FCA using the Dodge/SRT name would have been a perfect opportunity. If they want to raise the profile of the sport over there that would have been the way to do it! Also it would help reduce some of the Ferrari B team talk.

Ah, I also recall seeing that ad once or twice during some game. It reminded me of Complex String.

British car, British sponsorship. I guess that's what he was going for, although at that point, Penthouse was US owned.

It was more of a response to discussing whether or not Budweiser was "classy" enough to be an F1 sponsor. I don't think you can get more classless than a nudy magazine so a crappy American beer doesn't seem all that bad.

Renault have picked up the keys to the Ebstone factory. They will reportedly confirm full details of the team in February - my guess is that they will re-launch the team as they launch the car.

Well they've said they're keeping the drivers. I'd guess they see 2016 as a transition year with little success, then 2017 with the new regs they'll probably look at getting a preferred driver line-up. Unless the most mediocre looking line-up in recent F1 actually surprises us and does well, of course.

They haven't, Lotus have said that they expect Renault will be keeping the drivers. Ghosn said in his Le Figaro (paywall, sadly) interview that the drivers et al would be announced in January. That doesn't mean they won't announce Maldonado and Gillian, of course, just saying :D
