The February update discussion

I want rain finally.
I wonder what reason you want rain for? what camera view you use? what aids you use?
In dirt rally VR I hate it when there is rain, sleet or snow, because visibility is ruined. In the UK I experience enough rain, I want sunny weather.

I am all for a wet post-rain track, with strategic puddles and dry racing line, but it's near the bottom of my list of wants.

I traded in my copy of GTS yesterday. Just wasn't enjoying it anymore.

Out of curiosity, what did you pick up to replace it?

It depends when you bought the game... I bought it at release, so all the post release content has been free.
For someone who bought the game since the 1.12 update, they have not had any free content YET.

I want rain (and weather in general) as its a part of racing, its a different challenge and skill set to racing in the dry.

I use cockpit camera and aids in a realistic manner (as in what the actual car or class of racing its based on would have).

I want the option to race in all conditions that racing actually takes place in, and personally love the additional challenge that racing in the rain, with the impact on visibility, that it provides.

In GT5 GT6 and project cars, I only drove a few tracks and a few cars, never played any of the offline stuff except for licenses, all the rest was wasted on me. If GTS got a couple more real world tracks, SPA and one other, then I would have enough in the game to last me till PS5.

Edit : using cockpit camera with little or no aids is a valid reason to want rain, but 99% of the player base will be driving in chase cam with CSA on, so rain will mostly not even effect them.

Plus, rain in video games is purty :)

Off topic image, but yes it is!

It's been a while since I've raced with rain in video games, following a plume of water spray was fun, but would bring out the worst of the penalty system.
I guess I'm being swayed from my current rain experiences

It's a different game. This is GT Sport, not GT7. You get a whole new mode which is better than any that were in any previous games.

Which mode is that?

Are you referring to "Sport"? That's not new. The mode is just GT6's quick race.

The DR/SR is new. Think about that. The only features in GTS that are actually new are the the driver rating systems and the championship scoring system for the FIA races (I suppose that's two, not one) and the livery editor...finally

You can tell me "this is Sport not GT7" and that's fine, but the PS4 is now 5 years old. Don't you think it deserves a GT7 by now? Remember when everyone was convinced that GT6 would be a PS4 title instead of a PS3 title????

By the way, it's now Thursday and no announcement of an update. It's not happening. We'll get 24 cars in March.

GT Sport is not just 'quick race' though is it? As you say, the DR and SR ranking system mean it is much more than that.

Play offline if you want GT7 that much.. or lobbies.

Fine, so be it 👍

I generally hate rain, but I would welcome the addition of something different.

You said it was a new mode. I just pointed out it wasn't

You're right, let me fire up GT7.....oh, right :P

If we didn't get a teaser picture of the 10 cars already, I highly doubt we will get an update for February.

Was there any indication that we are suppose to get a major update on a monthly basis with DLC cars?

One question to friends:

Do you have the feeling that GTS is a palliative game? A more sophisticated "prologue"?

Sometimes I have the feeling that PD soon launched a palliative game on the market, not to leave the GT brand in oblivion and because the PS4 is already four and a half years old without any GT.

So, nothing better than launch a game with what is already ready, while PD finishes the GT7.

And I think that more now, when the sales of the game are falling.

Honestly, I do not see any logic that PD continues to spend resources with monthly updates for two years (for example), while sales only fall and the public decreases every day.

Here at GtPlanet, we're fans. We love the franchise. And yet I see that the demand diminishes of people interested in the game.

In the other forums I participate in, the GTS topics are forgotten.

Do not get me wrong. I'm just worried.

Is it even that PD will give this whole support of 500 cars? Will Kaz fulfill the promise of GTS to have content similar to the GT6?

I can not think this promise viable.
