:)👍

Not sure if anyone cares, but the FLCL soundtrack is on Pandora.

"shinkichi mitsumune & pillows"

"I Think I Can" is 7 minutes for some reason. :dunce:

EDIT: There's also a few other anime soundtracks, but I don't remember the artist names, so you'll have to find them yourself.

Sephy This thread is creeping me out again.

I'm not Canadian, but I'm still sorry. :(

Go watch some NGE to feel better. It's what I do. Yeah Asuka, you put those angels in their place!

Try to guess which one of us owns a body pillow cover? lol

There's was this one fellow who posted his dorm on here and I remarked about the pillows, which were body pillow covers. Sorry if I missed the name
I find it quite alarming that something like body pillow covers actually sell. I understand buying statuettes of characters and the like, but it's pretty creepy to have those pillows around.

Decoration, just like any other merchandise of that nature.

That isn't the case with some people out there... I don't know of anyone, but putting a sexy character on something soft and associated with relaxation tells you more than just decoration. Perhaps some can control themselves, but it's still creepy to me.

I see what you're saying, and while I agree some people can take it to a creepy level, I would disagree with that opinion about most people.

I'm not prejudiced, not at all. It's just a bit alarming to me, that's all.

I find it a bit shallow to dismiss it as creepy. Everyone has a fantasy not openly talked about. Keep that stuff private I'd say. That level of mystery makes you more interesting as an individual.

I see where you coming from. Just don't do anything ridiculous like marry the pillow or something. I'm not sure how fantasies makes someone more interesting since pretty much anyone can have one.

If you haven't, try sampling the soundtrack from Disappearance of Haruhi:

Track 7 and onward for the most part is where the best stuff is. The tone is very theatrical.

Even without a dakimakura, pretty much everyone on the planet has woken up to find themselves quietly grinding against a pillow or blanket. Humans being humans, nothing to be ashamed of. It's more a sign of our prudish society that people think that having a cuddle pillow is somehow creepy.

*Quote fixed for grammar (as far as I can make of it)*

You take one instance and infer that everyone that has a body pillow is the same when that couldn't be further from the truth. And I don't even know what you're saying with the third sentence. Take me for example; I have an Asuka body pillow. I bought it because I love scoring any Asuka merchandise that I can. That pillow is in my closet. I bought it because it has Asuka on it and I was at a con at the time and it was pretty cheap. That being said, I have another body pillow. I bought a body pillow at Wal-Mart for $10. Body pillows are extremely comfortable. The Wal-Mart pillow I got is dark blue with white dots. It's large and very soft. I love it, but I don't love it sexually, just like I don't love my Asuka pillow sexually and I even put the Asuka pillow away because to me it's just merchandise. I just wanted to own it. In fact, the reason I stowed my Asuka pillow away in my closet is because it's texture was pretty rough compared to my Wal-Mart version and it wasn't nearly as comfortable. I just like having Asuka merchandise. So don't judge me as some sort of weird pervert when I have a clear distinction between fantasy and reality. Thank you. And the reason I didn't engage in the last in depth multi-page discussion you guys had is because it has been had time and time again but I felt this was something that needed an actual response to.

Also I may make posts about Asuka that seem weird but they are for laughs. Remember some of us are here to just have fun and goof off.

EDIT: Words are hard

I think I've read an article somewhere (or was it a video?) of a dude marrying his, uh... anime character thing, I can't remember. :odd: But hey, whatever floats your boat.
...have a clear distinction between fantasy and reality.
That's all that really matters. 👍

I actually was kinda prejudice about anime figure collecting until I bought one. It felt weird. I was like, "oh 🤬, am I turning into one of them otakus with no life, 🤬, what am I doing". That was a few months ago. Now, I'm okay with it.

I still think dakimakuras are weird, especially when someone uses it the way it's intended to be used, as a hugging pillow. But I actually have one I wanna get because it looks really awesome. It's bloody expensive though, like $110 before shipping, just for a pillow case, wtf. And even if I do get it, I would probably just display it. Sleeping with an anime body pillow is still weird to me. Maybe I'll get over it one day, just like how I got over collecting anime figures.

See, I don't see a difference between buying a figure or buying a pillow. To me it's just merchandise. Compare it to sports fanatics. If I were to buy a bobble head of my favorite player or a pillow of my favorite team, no one cares. But switch it to anime, and oh my god, it's creepy as hell. No it isn't. And to sane collectors there is absolutely no difference. Buy what you want and don't fear judgement. You know what you like and you can still be a normal and functional member of society without being some weird creep. Such an odd stigma that definitely shouldn't be an issue in a thread like this which is geared to anime fans.
