Can't wait to see Nibutani and Dekomori having clash at each other again lol. Also need more Rikka's sister, and I think she probably will have more screentime in this movie.

I think I prefer this over the Evangelion spam back then.

It's a lot more surprising, that's for sure. I know for a fact that people here weren't coming out of nowhere and suddenly sporting Eva avatars when that was the trend round here. And yet you see new fans of Love Live popping up here even now.

Long live Love Live, indeed.

Classic Asuka Langley in a nutshell (and Shinji Ikari as well considering his reaction)

Alright what do you guys think of this :

Imo this is the best KyoAni anime in terms of graphics and animation so far (I thought Hibike Euphonium is good enough, but gosh this one is on another level...). Looks like they stepping up the game from what it looks like is going to be serious story (I wish). Can't wait for it. Hopefully there is some information about it at KyoAni festival this October as from what I read there is going to be advanced screening due to release :

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/dai...et-evergarden-listed-as-2017-tv-anime/.116422

Edit : Did anyone here hyped for this?

Now that was a surprise... I thought this is over but no. Glad to see this hilarious anime back once again and I think a movie would be a great closure to the entire story (or if they planned another season but that's unlikely imo)

Well Violet Evergarden is a curious story on many grounds. If everything else fails, it'll deliver on eye candy alone due to the KyoAni effort (as in eye-widening because man that YouTube video looks outstanding right out the gate). But the story itself is certainly far from average or "been there, done that", so it'll be interesting to see how everything ties together. I hope it wasn't designed as an "animation anime", because the potential is there...

As for Chuunibyou getting one more movie, I was surprised. I didn't think the series' popularity was still strong enough to the point of sparking one more movie after all this time. If it ends after this, I hope the ending is worth it. If it opens doors to a new season, why not? The show is good enough to deserve at least one more of those... Well it's up to KyoAni on that regard, I guess.

Also, screw Rikka's sister. She doesn't deserve more screen time, she deserves an umbrella soundly to the face. Let the important people (i.e. Miss Summer) get the useful things instead...

Long Live Misato Katsuragi!

wait something about that isnt right

Sorry to interrupt, but KyoAni just announced Violet Evergarden for next year Winter season with their latest PV :

Long Live Misato Kisaragi!

There is no problem at all with the visuals imo. Story wise however I wish KyoAni go a bit more serious, risky and compelling route than they ever done (Koe no Katachi probably an exception). I guess we have to wait until next year to prove it. It is quite a challenge for them honestly and I a bit worried. If they succeed, that would be an achievement and they gain more fans. If not, then they might play safe as usual. As for Chuunibyou. I agree with everything you said, as long as the pink haired girl didn't show up... (season 2 is meh...)

That's it and now we back to our regular topic :

Long live Love Live.

You're not wrong, to be fair.

Glad to hear I'm not. Besides, she does deserve a long life, after all she's been put through... She can use some time to unwind and drink a cup or two of whiskey. Working with brats and world-ending beings wrecks your psyche badly...

Because it's Katsuragi? ;)

I should've known something was off. Oh well, can I get a "you tried" medal? That's all I ask...

Oh no, I wasn't saying there's anything wrong the visuals. I was saying that it would be bad if this anime was only directed with making good-looking animation in mind and nothing else. As in a show that looks great, but has no plot, no relatable characters and nothing of interest because everything was focused on animation. There are a few animes like that, but I hope Violet Evergarden doesn't become one of them. They have the time, so hopefully they spend it well...

As for the Chuunibyou movie, after seeing the PV, does anyone else think this will be a story about travelling? The airplane, the fact that it appears in the OVA's logo... Looks like it'll have something to do with "outside your home" adventures.

Need an Anime reccomendation.

Currently just watching Vanguard G: NEXT and Dragon Ball Super. I'm on my Buddyfight binge watch catch-up break. Yugioh ARC-V has finished (which had a 🤬 last arc which really disappointed due to how the show started) and Yugioh VRAINS is just SAO for Yugioh fans, so I instantly hated it after 3 episodes. Also lost the website I was watching Zoids :(

Hoping to watch something that isn't to dramatic on the whole humanity storylines, those are like an unkillable virus I have with Anime watching, so many times I watch an anime where the main villain is pretty much a racist against humanity just because there are bad people as they ignore all the good humans like the protagonist and friends. Also want avoid Mary/Gary Sue like protagonists or protagonists that just bull:censored: out of situations, already have that with Vanguard and DBS.

Ah yes I'm sorry I misread your statement about visuals. Story in the other hand should have been differ, as what I stated above.

For Chuunibyou, you're right this will be an adventure. I'm just going to give a hint :

Rikka's sister decided to move from Japan to Italy and want to brought her little sister as well but things not going well as it should. Instead Rikka decided to travel around Japan and having adventure with Yuuta.

Well only time will tell, but what we have so far is promising. It's far from being an action anime, it's more of an adventure from a young girl/machine hybrid as she works with different people as part of her job. But other than that, we can't assume much...

Also, guess I called it about Chuunibyou, haha. And I haven't even finished the series yet!

Violet is promising to me as well, but I better wait when this came out to have the first impression of it. Already on my waiting list lol

As for Chuunibyou what season you currently watching?

I still have to finish the first one. Basically, I have a lot of ground to cover when it comes to Rikka's adventures, haha.

Enjoy your adventure then  👍 My opinion first season was good towards finale, while second season, well not as strong as the first. My favorite scenes and moment were at the final episode (and also before that where it all started). It was memorable and sweet.

SVX
Is that because you started on the second? ;)

Shh, don't say that loud...! No one needs to know that kind of meaningless info... :P

And well, I am watching the show in the right order now, so the proverbial major crisis was averted. ;)

It is fine I guess. Sometimes we start late on the later season and instead gained some interest to the show then decided to seek for the beginning (me as well just jumped to LLS without watching the original LL first lol)

Thanks, I'll be sure to. The little I saw of Chuunibyou kept me interested, because it was a concept I wasn't used to. Coupled with the colorful animation and the "battle" scenes, the show caught my attention rapidly.

It went to the point where I already downloaded the other OVAs despite not even having finished the first season...!

Oh yes the OVA! Almost forgot about that. I don't remember quite well, but the OVA is just compilation of skits am I right? Those skits were funny too lol

So I've caught up watching AoT S2, but the way it's handled is strange

Like it's becoming a Mystery now. First we have that Titan at Conny's village, which looks like his mom (along with the entire disappearance of the villagers). Then we have the Beast Titan which can talk (can't recall if he showed up in S1); Ymir, Reiner, and Bertoldt secretly Titans; Annie still encased in that crystalline form (the Section Commander was studying a piece of the crystal but stopped); Titans in the walls (while the Priest doesn't say jack); and now we got a Titan that devoured Eren's parents shows up. I'm getting pretty confused...

I am not sure as to how the OVAs work, but I'm ok with a collection of comedy skits. As long as they get close to Full Panic Fumoffu! levels of comedy, I won't mind...

I can assure that the skits were good on the OVA because it is mainly focused on comedy aspects. Probably quite better than the skits on TV episodes (Some of them also good too, it gets me sometimes lol)

As Full Metal Panic I don't watch it yet. Some people said it was aired on local channel here years ago, but I didn't noticed that. And KyoAni make reference out of it in Amagi Brilliant Park with one of the mascot in the show and that is all I know.

Is it making the movie look good?

LL is my chance to turn off and watch something, and I really think that's its main strength.
Go watch some cute girls get flustered and chase their dreams. You owe it to yourself to appreciate these trash anime, for you and you alone!
I've been thinking about how to best respond and arrived at the following conclusion... turning your brain off is not something I can easily do for anime like I can for stupid action movies. The key difference is that the latter usually has a 2 hour run time after cutting opening and ending credits, whereas your average 12-13 episode anime will go for at least 4 hours even after cutting the OP's, ED's, previews and if applicable recaps. This generates a large contrast in the pacing, especially if the anime in question isn't an action series.

Action movies often don't give you time to think, because if you do you've probably missed something in the current scene whilst you were dwelling on the previous one. Anime on the other hand has time on it's side to pace things in such a way that is easily dissect-able without having to rewatch, which most of the time can be an advantage, but a flawed story this can quickly turn this into a negative, as it also gives you more time to stop and say "WAIT A MINUTE..."

Also, do we have to appreciate and support something if it's trash? It just encourages creators to produce more trash, so we end up with stuff like Eromanga-Sensei (don't even want to touch, heard the main appeal is bile fascination). This isn't an anime-specific problem either as it also made me realise that I have been hypocritical in regards to eating up endless trash in the cinemas recently yet holding it against others when they do the same in another genre.

So let's add that to the top of my midyear resolutions:

- Stop watching stupid action movies made to make a quick buck
- Watch more anime
- Use less curse words on the internet
- Stop using disgustingly dirty jokes for a cheap laugh IRL
- Shake off low self-esteem
- Shake off low esteem for everyone else
- Finally type up that novel idea that's going to become a best seller I swear

I wouldn't say you came here on the mission to change our minds.
I wasn't. I just needed to finally vent after all the frustration was building up inside me. It's hard not liking something yet not being able to get away from it.

Having gotten those negative thoughts off my chest, it's time I talked about some positive things. I said that I haven't watched as much anime as I really want to, but if I had to pick a favourite out of what I have watched, it would probably be Nichijou;

dsgDMT1.jpg

One of the funniest things I've bared witness to, alongside Monty Python, the new McLaren Honda, and that one time a Skype group comically over-reacted to a high school English grammar joke I made (remember to double dot your i's, people). I think it ended up being a big reason why KyoAni makes up a large portion of what I've watched so far, including the Chuunibyou anime that is currently on topic. I can't fault Chuunibyou in any way, but I can't really point to anything overly memorable about it either, unless we're counting ending songs, in which case Inside Identity was a great song...

I can assure that the skits were good on the OVA because it is mainly focused on comedy aspects. Probably quite better than the skits on TV episodes (Some of them also good too, it gets me sometimes lol)

Well those are good first signs for me, sounds promising. When the OVA makes good use of its status to deliver with golden comedy, that's a good start...

You see, there's more in common between KyoAni and Full Metal Panic than you know.

Remember when I mentioned Full Panic Fumoffu? Guess who animated that show... ;) And the same applies to Full Metal Panic's second season. Those explain the appearance of one of FMP's mascot (was it a hamster-like thing?) in another KyoAni show, I'd say...

Maybe I can turn my brain off for 25 minute episodes because there's nothing to turn off, I guess. I just don't see what's to be worked up about it. No one is saying it's an amazing anime or anything, they just... like the content. :boggled:
