My selection of Eva 1.11 is based on my love of Eva. I'm not trying to pick the best anime to win over newcomers. Indeed, many of the options you guys have mentioned would be better for that. But not everyone in my class are complete anime virgins. About half have at least one or two that they like, even if it is stuff like DBZ, Bleach and Naruto. I want to expose them to something a little bit more... interesting. ![Sly :sly: :sly:](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/sly.svg?v=3)
I would totally show EoE to them, except for the fact that it just wouldn't work at all to try and show it to people who've never even heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion.![Tongue :P :P](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/tongue.svg?v=3)
And I'd love to show 'em 2.22, but without them having seen 1.11 so they know what the hell all this Eva business is about? Nah... So 1.11 it is.
The people in my class with an aversion to anime might not be completely won over by it, true. But I think it stands a good chance of at least getting them to reconsider, assuming they don't drift off into la la land during the movie.
Ideally, their interest will be piqued enough for them to want to see 2.22, which will be where the real magic might happen.
