Of course, well he probably was what was holding the band down to an extent. It wasn't a coincidence that Maiden went big after his departure. ;)

Even still, those first 2 albums were exceptionally well written. Everything they've gone has been thought through very well though. I can't think of a "bad" album from them. They had a few lower selling ones but that didn't make them "bad".

Who have you guys found out were Maiden fans that you never thought would be? I have a few, and I have a new respect for them.

(1 more but it's a bit showing too much skin)

Lady Gaga (Covers their songs, is a roady and chills with them, says she lives Maiden and that they chagned her life)

Lindsay isn't a fan, those are just the clothes the Salvation Army gave her.

Surprised by the other two though.👍

I was just listening to the Blaze Bayley version of Afraid To Shoot Strangers, and I actually like it better than Dickinson's version. Anyone else have input on this?

Live I take it? I only saw one song with him live....it was the Trooper....and he freaked out on the crowd. The vocals were hideous. On the albums he's decent though.

Heard it before. It's alright but I never really cared for it.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. That's not to say I don't think that Bruce's version is good, though.

I respect that he filled in when he did but the vocals on the albums were much more polished and I like that better. Though I do prefer Maiden to be live.

The vocals on his albums (so to speak) or Bruce's do you mean? I understand the whole idea of good-in-studio-not-so-much-live thing though if you are indeed talking about Blaze.

Blaze was more polished. Well all of them were haha. But yeah Blaze was way better on the albums over live.

Bruce is good either way. I prefer Maiden live but I absolutely love all of their albums.

I now give you all permission to slap me upside the head, 100 million times. I have something to admit.

I have never once in my life listened to Best of the B Sides.

There I said it. Yes I'm listening now. That Girl.....that song just made me smile. I will also admit while listening to that, I had shivers of joy, I yelled out YES YES YES YES YES way too much, I shook my head threw myself around was slapping myself for not listening soon. Oh My God. it is a new revelation. I don't even care that 98% of them are covers. Just classic Maiden. Yum. Also, does anyone know when a lot of these songs were recorded? I don't really want to go look at every single off Wikipedia to find out what it's original B-sides where. A list would be nice of the entire soundtrack and what there normal singles were. I know it's a lot to ask and if need be I'll do it. Now before you kill me even more, yes I've heard a lot of them before just not the actual studio recordings...I've heard Prowler '88 etc.
When I ge tup in the morning first thing I'm doing is getting my greedy little hands on every b-side, cover and everything else in between. Then I'll talk videos and documentarys later XD

.....I'm hooked.....these B-sides off Seventh Son and Somwhere in time are going to kill me with their sheer awesomeness.....I really think I'm going to die from these eargasms....

Also I want to know if there is any place I can get a digital copy of Walking on Glass...live or not. Because if I'm right, I have a stupid rare vinyl of it.....and get this. It's a STUDIO RECORDING

Dammit nope it's live.

I got into them via their newer music and have been hooked ever since. I bought The Number Of The Beast after seeing them live on July 17, 2010 at DTE Energy Music Theater, Powerslave with my Christmas money later that year, got Piece Of Mind and Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son for my birthday less than a week later, and recently, their debut album and Live At Donington. I also have their Rock In Rio (2001) and En Vivo! DVDs, and they are a must-have for every metal fan. I was gonna buy The Final Frontier myself, but a friend sent it to me via Skype after it leaked early, so I ended up getting it for free. The previous year, that same friend sent me their other albums with the three-guitar attack the same way. The only albums I can't find in stores have been Somewhere In Time, No Prayer For The Dying, and Virtual XI.
Below is the set intro and opener from the show I went to. And no, this is not my video. My seat was in the lawn section. This is in the pavilion.

Oh damn it all, they're off to the Download festival and my final maths exam intervenes with it! :grumpy: Of course there are many other bands there I'll miss but Maiden especially, a legendary section of musical history I might never see live now.

The same problem occurs here! It's a royal pain in the arse.

Somewhere in Time is their best work IMO. B-sides included.

Sir... The solution to your albums you can't find... Here.

I use this site for all my CD buying needs, you can find almost everything there. Even bands that are hard to find (like Edguy).

Wow that site has a lot of good stuff....

Too bad this cover never got completely finished. Apparently the black smoke wings of the devil aren't complete.

Yeah saw that the other day. It's the original as well. Maiden England '88. I saw a line on FaceBook that said Iron Maiden had big news to announce and I was like PLEASE BE A STUDIO ALBUM but then I went all sad face.

Did anybody in the UK catch Live After Death on Sky Arts 1 last night? Slash - Made In Stoke was on afterwards, great way to start my 16th! :D

Sounds like an awesome night!

Do you know when it's coming out?

March 25th as a DVD, CD, and vinyl picture disc with encore footage that wasn't released with the original VHS in 1988. It will also have the 3rd part of the "History of Iron Maiden" documentary series continuing from "The Early Days" and the reissue of Live After Death in 2008 as well as promo videos from 12 Wasted Years.
