Biggest issue for me with GT6 is right here...

WHY????

Sorry, forgot to explain right away.

Both screenshots are indicative of a problem I feared for a while.

I am a mostly, if not completely, offline player. This means the single-player component of the game must be properly developed, in order to keep me interested. In short, there need to be lost offline replay-ability.

The top image seems to indicate Arcade Mode will feature a restricted selection of cars, like GT5's "Arcade Only" tab.
The second one means the favorites are back. Which, in itself, is not a bad thing but it implies that, once again, you will have to, most likely, favorite most of your cars from your garage in order to use them in Arcade. This in turn means you will have restrictions in choosing colors because, as expected, cars in your garage only have one color at the time.

I loved the Arcade Mode in GT4 because, as long as I owned a car in my career garage, I could just select its stock form, choose any manufacturer color available for the car pick a track, amount of laps and race. Almost endless replay-ability here with ease.

EDIT: KKHN got it spot on!

But that is clearly GT mode. What he is saying is that once again it appears your choice of car in Arcade is limited to 30 cars going by that screenshot.

I see what you mean, and yes, that was a very frustrating part of the game. why? eh

Now I see. I find that quite awful as well, because it is an unnecessary burden -just like changing oil for that matter- and limits fun as well. Personally in GT5 I mostly played practice (GT mode) and online cruising (much easier to select cars than in GT mode), so I'd love to see a well made arcade mode.

PD really makes work of not selling the game to people like me ( people who bought every GT game with all the DLC).
We now get:
b5d37bf4-3b81-11e3-94ca-22000a270a3d.jpg

And
2007-2010_Mazda_2_(DE)_Genki_5-door_hatchback_02.jpg

And
Abarth_GrandePunto.JPG

And
renault-8-gordini-1.jpg

Instead of...
cimg1174.jpg

PD could not scrap one of these other cars to add an E30 M3? The most requested car on the wishlists not in GT6 because GT6 needed another hybrid pffff... Few new Audi race cars but still no premium S3, RS4, RS5 or any other newer Audi street cars. Don't have to ad em all, just one of them would have been nice. Still no DTM wich means the A-spec DTM event will be another mess of older DTM cars mixed with random race cars that happen to be Germen hurray :S

I'm willing to bet A-spec will be the same mess that GT5 was. Racing boring cars against slow AI. No fun objectives just Time Trials with cars on track. I wonder if you can finally finish carreer mode with using premium cars only. And will all the prize cars be premium? I remember waiting so long for a truck, getting it and then beating the truck races to be greeted by a wonderfull Daihatsu Midget. Like Kaz was laughing at me the whole time when I won that thing. "you hate standards? well here is the worst one ever muahahhahahaha" /kaz

PD seems to be stuck in the 90s when it comes to making a race game. Every other game seems to evolve while PD is stuck at boosting the car count. Sad part is that it still seems to be working. Why fix anything if you can sell millions on brand name alone :guilty:

What is the current count of new cars added? Not including the standard to premium stuff but honest to goodness new cars?

Anyone know?

Many thanks.

I think it's around 100 so far, give or take a few.

I think someone calculated it as being just under 100. Which is pretty good considering Gt1 had about that many non-duplicated models.

1200 cars, 37 tracks with 100 variations, and still a limited career mode? I dont believe it. Kaz even said himself one of the biggest issues with GT5 was the lack of races for the large variety of cars...

We don't know that for sure... I think many of you overreacted to this new "stars system"...:boggled:

(Is this Mario Bros or what, BTW????)

But theres always a possibility of a future patch adding more content :(

We also expected that from GT5... didn't happen... :nervous:

Does anyone have a list of the negative features, updates, removed items, or downgrades in GT6? I only ask because in GT5 we got the "Standards" bombshell dropped onto us just before the game launched. Which ended up being 80% of the game. And that was a MASSIVE, negative, surprise bombshell. At launch the standards had a long list of problems.

So anyway, are there any bombshells I have missed for GT6? Thanks in advance. And please quote this so it sends me an alert.

Maybe the missing WRCs, G4, Interceptor and those two Ferrari F1s, but apart from that... oh and TGTT seems not to be in GT5.

So far nothing crucial.

WTH, does the GT6 car list really only have 8 new tracks, Silver stone, brands hatch, GT arena, ect. There's no new city tracks, only one new original track and 5 boring world tracks, seriously it this it or are more tracks are getting made. If we are left with these 8 new tracks and we have to pay for new one every month WTH, it would be a complete rip off for waiting 3 years.

Boring world tracks? The new tracks are one of the best things about GT6 imo. Bathurst, Silverstone, Brands Hatch are all great tracks with a long history in motorsport.

Top Gear test track is missing no???

I agree Samus, nothing boring about the new tracks added, they're brilliant

There are many challenges that can be tried over and over again.
Grinding is now an official feature.

eco-challenges where you compete for how far you can drive on just 1 litre of petrol
Hilarious. Also new in GT6:
Use a paint chip and watch how the paint on your car dries.
Experience a total absence of sensations getting your lunar rover vehicle to a top speed of 8mph.

But I was wrong all along. GT6 is gonna be the best GT ever and Kaz is a genius:
There are no more standard cars from GT5. Enjoy standard equivalent cars in GT6.
Who needs a CLS AMG when you can just park your Vauxhall Tigra '99 (or Opel Tigra '99, because the car list is huge) on the side of the track and enjoy watching the Milky Way Galaxy on your TV, so you don't need to go outside anymore to see stars.
Learning curve will not be steep, as GT6 will gradually be released in future upgrades.

OMG I love you!!
