Section 4 of the 25th amendment (incapacity) sure looks pretty appealling.

Trump's previous lack of a stable baseline makes it so difficult to notice when he's suffering major neurological side effects (either from medication, covid, or both). How does one compare his current level of mania to his previous level of mania?

Biden vs. Jo Jorgensen vs. Howie Hawkins vs. Kanye West.

Make it happen debate commission! And I only want Kanye there because the meme-ability from it would be through the roof.

No way Biden would debate with Jorgensen ... or anyone else other than Trump. He would have nothing to gain & everything to lose.

Newsweek reporting that Trump is once again, wanting Barr to indict Biden based on the Russian 2016 interference controversy.
On Thursday, Trump told Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo that Biden and Obama "spited' his campaign and urged Attorney General Bill Barr to indict them because "we got plenty, you don't need any more." Without an indictment, Trump said, "we'll get little satisfaction," and he "won't forget it."

This isn't the first time Trump's called for Barr to indict Biden over the "Russia hoax," as he refers to it. In August, he told Bartiromo that Barr had a chance to be the "greatest of all time" and that he has all of the answers showing that it goes "right to" Obama and Biden. But, if he chooses to be politically correct, he'll end up being "just another guy."

Wonder if Trump is crazy enough to throw Barr under a bus.

I'm not sure I see a winning scenario here for Trump. If Barr acts on it, it will look ridiculous. If not, he just further implodes.
You're more knowledgeable on this than I am, but wouldn't Barr need a jury to indict Biden? I can't imagine any will touch it given how close we are to election day.

Trump campaign will not participate virtual debate in one of the most unprofessional statements that has to be on record.

Trump said this morning he thinks he's not contagious.
"Swamp creatures"? Sweet zombie Jesus.

It's like Donald Trump, on steroids.

Oh, wait.

I don't think so. But Barr could make overtures toward "acting on" Trump's instructions... or not. I don't see either as being a win.

I can't see this working out well for Trump either. It almost sounds like it's a ploy to delay the election/invalidate the results of the election because, in Trump's eyes, Biden is an illegitimate candidate.

Trump wasn't infected at all. It was fake news. He did it probably to show the world that even president of one of the most powerful countries can become infected or he wants to be depicted as a strong leader and this for campaign purposes.

If Yeezy shows up maybe they should add Taylor Swift to the invitee list for "balance".

It's tempting to believe this but as @Famine has pointed out twice now, no way is he that good of an actor or at keeping his mouth shut about it.

Maybe not Trump but all the advisers around him they make him shut up about it. There I'm sure of. I still believe that he wasn't infected. I didn't believe it at day one when it was announced and certainly not when he was released from hospital 3 days later and still looking the same as when he was admitted at the hospital.

He will shut up about this, I'm sure of it because maybe it was his own idea. And he is that kind of person to pull such a stunt.

He has learned a lot during his presidency.

Are you sure he's learned? He's already casting about for someone to blame.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/08/trump-gold-star-families-coronavirus-427875

No way is he capable of playing the long game while making himself look this mean and stupid. I just can't buy it.
I do. I don't see him being mean and stupid by giving that interview.

Many elderly die from this virus all over the world. Trump is taken care of by his staff and he is probably in good health but being cured after only 3 days at that age? I can't believe that eventhough it is possible.

You don't see him "being" (or appearing, as I said) mean and stupid by blaming the families of dead war veterans rather than superspreader mass events for being the cause of his infection?

It's hard to imagine a more clear cut case of blaming innocent victims for his own misfortune.

I don't know if it's allowed, but I really hope that Biden is still able to do it. From what I understand, the next debate was supposed to be a town-hall format, in which people from the audience get to ask questions. It be a great opprotunity for Joe Biden to take control.
Buy a lotto ticket; that's what they appear to be doing.
ABC News said it intends to hold a town hall with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Thursday October 15 – the same night the former Vice President was slated to have taken part in a debate with President Donald Trump. The announcement of the event is just the latest sign of a breakdown in this traditional stop on the road to the White House.

"Well, dad-gum!"

Well, that should be an interesting watch, hopefully with less shouting.

On a similar note, based on what I've been reading today, I have a feeling Trump won't be doing any other debates before election day.

Watching a stream tonight reacting to political news, the streamer was playing Trump calling into Hannity. At one point, he said California will have to ration water b/c they want to send it out to the pacific to help "tiny little fish".

Uh, can any Californians elaborate on what he's talking about b/c in a stream of 20,000 people, nobody had any idea what he's referring to.

Edit* Finally found what he was on about. Of course there's more to it than he said.

He basically thinks that rivers are stupid and shouldn't be allowed to flow naturally.

Looks like Barr would need a Grand Jury to indict to bring any federal felony charges.
The federal government is required to use grand juries for all felonies, though not misdemeanors, by the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Assuming Barr even cares about the Constitution at all.

Jo Jorgensen is polling nationally at 4% according to Pew Research.

Also, Biden is still polling way ahead of Trump, which shouldn't be surprising. I just hope this doesn't mean those who'd vote Biden stay home on election day. While I think Biden wouldn't make a good president, I think he'd at least be better than Trump so I do hope those who say they'll vote for him, actually get out and do so.

So they are bringing up the 25th Amendment again to remove Trump. Seriously they have better things to do... If they put as much effort into "trying to fix America" as they do trying to remove Trump. We'd probably be doing pretty good right now.

It's not even about politics anymore. This is about the institution of government itself. What is the standard for "good president" right now? If someone is willing to subscribe to the notion of an election and a peaceful transfer of power, I think that might be where the bar is at the moment.

I really don't see this election as political at all.

That is the best and first response to "fix" anything in the US right now - remove Trump.

And how much tax money do you think they'll waste on this just for him to lose in November. Besides it's not like it'd pass or he'd actually be removed if it did. It's a waste of time and tax money just like the last "impeachment".
