So far, not that impressed with the Harris responses. Many missed opportunities.

I don't understand why she never cited Trump consistently undermining his own scientific experts, advocating for unproven Covid treatments & dismissing & ridiculing mask wearing. Closing down US entry to Chinese travellers was not a sensible or adequate strategy because it led to tens of thousands of American citizens returning to the US (from China & later Europe) before any policy was in place to screen & test them to prevent them from spreading Covid.

On foreign policy, Harris failed to emphasize how Trump has alienated allies by backing out of treaties unilaterally. Isis was not defeated by American forces but by the forces of Middle Eastern allies, including the Kurds, whom Trump then hung out to dry by allowing Turkey a free hand.

Pence doing well IMO ... which kind of underlines what a terrible debater Trump is.

Trump said this morning he thinks he's not contagious.

I don't know if it's allowed, but I really hope that Biden is still able to do it. From what I understand, the next debate was supposed to be a town-hall format, in which people from the audience get to ask questions. It be a great opprotunity for Joe Biden to take control.

Given my echo chamber comment in the neighboring thread, I actually did dig this up just now to check to make sure it's not a joke. I still can't believe it's not a joke, but it is apparently not.

Apparently the experimental treatment for COVID has side effects because Trump has gone over the deep end calling for arrests of... everyone else.

I just found this random list of side effects for corticosteroids, but it seems to fit decently well:

depression, mania, anxiety, insomnia, delusions (paranoia or other themes), hallucinations, agitation, and confusional states. Rarer ones include serious heteroaggressivity, disturbances of consciousness, and depersonalization.

I like that treason is used here to describe an alleged crime against a candidate. It's like a blended-time accusation. "Well you see I was going to be King, and they should have known that at the time when they carried out their scheme to stop me"
