Or, since they are mail in ballots, they could, I don't know, let's see... Just mail them in!

Doesn't change the fact that it's still a blatant attempt at voter suppression, and an effort to limit ones overall freedom when it comes to how they want to vote.

Also, with how the administration/GOP is trying to nerf the USPS into the ground, some people might understandably be wary of sending their ballot through the post.

The CBS station here in Salt Lake actually interviewed Jorgensen!

That's like an actual win on some level. While KUTV isn't the most-watched station here, it's at least media exposure of a third-party candidate and it's a 23-minute interview to boot. They're going to interview Howie Hawkins (Green Party) as well, which I also consider a win. I really wish stations with a bigger market share, in an area with a higher population would do this.

This was my absolute favourite quote to when Jorgensen was asked how she would handle the debates:
My short answer is I’m a teacher and I know how to handle problem students, so I would just be fine on stage with them.

The presence of other voting options does not justify actively trying to suppress one of them.

Also, let's not forget that efforts have already been made to undermine and slow down the postal service - it's understandable that a lot of folks don't want to drop their ballot in the mail at this point in time.

That reminds me of how much Da'esh hate being called Da'esh.

I know right? I have been thumbing through the Yellow Pages all day, but I can't find the Pony Express listed anywhere. What am I supposed to do with my ballot?

Right. Because the administration has worked hard to make sure that the Postal Service has the resources and capacity to deal with such an event.
More fake news people choose to believe.

The post office handles nearly a half a billion pieces of mail a day. A few million, or tens of millions of ballots mailed over the next month is nothing.

Of course. Fake news.

Obviously no one should ever believe anything critical of Trump or the GOP, because there's no chance of it being real when they control reality.

Personally, I'm surprised anyone even fell for the obvious troll that is COVID-19. Clearly nothing like that exists, it's just the Democrats trying to take down the President by getting everyone scared by the flu. The only people scared of a little sniffle are pussy libtard cucks. Look at how Donald Trump, a 74 year old man, fought off the "pandemic" in only a few days with only the bare minimum of household remedies.

Let me ask you: how do you choose what news to believe and what not to? Explain it to me so that I can understand how what you're doing is superior to whatever it is that I do.

This took you two days to come up with?

You know how it sounds when people run around hollering "fake news," right? How it has always sounded?

Is that really the highest level of discourse you're capable of?

Some brief Googling indeed confirmed your number as roughly correct for the last several years, though none of the sites I encountered included data for 2020. Unless you have 2020 data handy (and if you do, please share), then that leaves us all quite in the dark about the effect that both COVID and Trump puppet new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's policy changes have had on those figures.

I also did a bit of googling so here's a graphic based on USPS sourced data provided by the no-doubt-soon-to-be-denounced-as-fake-news-by-someone-in-this-thread Guardian:

Now, maybe you could argue that 10% (30% in Ohio) isn't a huge dip, but who knows how much longer the downward trend would've continued if DeJoy hadn't been shamed into postponing his "efficiency" changes until after the election?

So after days of writing, editing, and re-writing my post to make it perfect, this is the best I get.

BTW, the focus group loved it. ;)

Says the guy pushing a stupid conspiracy theory.

Let me see what this looks like. I shall Channel my best Adam Shiff impersonation.

Trump: "Hey louie, I've been thinking about something. You know I am a stable genius, right?"

DeJoy: "Oh yes sir!"

Trump: "You know these Democrats are a bunch of pussies. It's only a matter of time, with this kung flu going around, they are going to start pushing mail in balloting so they can steal the election. How about you head over to the post office and take care of that, will ya?"

DeJoy: "Yes sir! On it sir!"

I'm pretty sure they just want to get rid of the post office so a non-government company or two can provide worse service at higher prices while everyone pretends it's so much better than when the government was doing it. Possibly disrupting mail-in voting is just a happy coincidence which if it happens will just give them a chance to say "see, government service = bad!"

I doubt it's a coincidence, republicans know they are losing bad in all key voting demographics and the gap has been getting bigger over the years, they are playing dirty to keep themselves in power with gerrymandering, removing polling booths in blue areas of existing red states and this tactic fits perfectly with the other two, considering mail is likely to be used more in this election and very likely future elections they see the writing on the wall.

Well they may have considered it as a possibility I suppose, but I don't think they started this latest round of trying to ruin the post office just to mess with the election(do we even know which side even gets more mail votes? Although if you keep making it harder for people in certain areas to vote in person it obviously makes mail more attractive to them). I just think that when they saw what was happening it played in nicely with what they were already doing. Unfortunately enough people were paying attention that they had to at least slow down dismantling the post office for now.

Rode past a house today that would make @Joey D proud. Signs in the yard for Jorgensen and Gene Siadek, one of the founders of the Nebraska Libertarian Party and a current candidate for Senate. Can't remember the last time I saw any sort of coordinated campaign materials for third-party candidates around here.

Say what you will about Wallace, he at least was forceful when it came to enforcing the 2 minute rule. This moderator is letting both speakers (Pence in particular) walk all over her.
