The second round of adjustments to the 66 cars that were in the Hagerty's Legendary Car dealership prior to the 1.20 update will begin with each car's next appearance. As in May, the associated prices of the new engines and new bodies, if available, and the "Recommended Retail Price" of the engines for the swappable engines from the Mazda 787B and (presumably) the Audi Sport quattro, were adjusted to be half and 1.2 times, respectively, the new cost of the cars.

First, a further note on arrows - except for an arrow's presence or absence on a car that was in the dealership when a game update also updates the prices, that arrow does not reflect the future. The Ferrari GTO and Lamborghini Miura, which had up-arrows prior to the 1.20 update, lost them and their prices will remain unchanged on their next appearances. The Ford GT40, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe and Nissan Skyline Hard Top, which kept their up-arrows through the update, will be more expensive on their next appearances after they sell out sometime between 8/28 and 9/5.

I still don't have all the cars for which new engines/bodies are available or the engine from the Audi Sport quattro, and my sources for the prices of the cars for which engine/body info is unavailable have not got back to me. Thanks to @GTboyz and @breyzipp and @Grimm6Jack below for filling in the rest of the new-engine prices below, and @Fezzik for the Audi engine info, I have enough info to start a proper thread.

All I need now are the 12 cars for which there are no engines/bodies available for purchase and which aren't sources for engine swaps. I do have info on the remaining 12 cars and have updated the info accordingly.

Of the 54 cars out of 66 cars available in Hagerty's: for which I have information prices can be estimated through either new engines/bodies purchased at the Tuning Shop or, as a source of a swappable engine, from the Recommended Retail Price in the Tuning Parts section of the Garage (as of the last table update)
  • 11 will increase/have increased in price, including 8 that also increased in price in May and 1 that decreased in price in May
  • While we don't have a Ferrari F40 intentional delay situation this time, we have a couple whoppers, including a near-tripling of the Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion's price and a 7,000,000 Cr. increase in the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL W194's price
  • 5 will decrease/have decreased in price, including 2 that increased in price in May
  • 50 will/have remain unchanged in price
  • The net price increase thus far is 16,878,000 Cr., or 6.04%
Major updates:
  • 8:35 am CDT 8/26/2022 - @Grimm6Jack provided the new engine prices for the 5 cars I didn't have.
  • 8:45 am CDT 8/26/2022 - @Fezzik provided the Audi engine's suggested retail price below. Until info on the 12 cars for which prices cannot be estimated starts to come in, this should be the last major update.
  • 5:10 pm CDT 8/28/2022 - Anonymous sources gave me the price of the 12 cars for which estimates could not be made. This is was the final planned update.
  • 7:35 pm CDT 10/25/2022 - The 1992 Nissan R92CP came back to Hagerty's 300,000 Cr. more expensive than expected.

Absurd, absolutely absurd. This is a video game. Much of the real world is currently facing massive inflation and rising costs, millions of people are concerned about it and how they're going to pay for things.

For PD to needlessly bring this negativity into a fictional game created for fun, that people play to ESCAPE reality even for just a few hours, is ridiculous, incredibly tone deaf.

Nobody wants this. Nobody thinks this is fun.

Inb4 someone call you a troll.

Yeah, look at the Porsche price, 190% increase LOL, what a joke! I hope people are voicing this out again because it's ridiculous.

Well, it works both ways, the Ford Roadster is 50k less now...

The 911 GT1 went from 3.1 million to 9 million.

And we get the same ****** payouts since 5 months ago.

BTW, I'm going to post here the cars you requested from me (that you don't have in the list already):

1. Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B: Still has its engine at 10 million so price remains at 20 million.

2. Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta: Still has its engine at 4.15 million so price remains at 8.3 million.

3. Ferrari 250 GTO: Still has its engine at 10 million so price remains at 20 million.

4. Ferrari 330 P4: It got engine increased from 4.5 to 4.75 million. So the car now costs 9.5 million. A 500k increase.

5. Mercedes 300 SL (W194): It got engine increased from 6.5 million to 10 million. So the car now costs 20 million. A 7 million increase. Holy Jesus!!!

6. Mercedes S Barker Tourer: Still has its engine at 6.5 million so the price remains at 13 million.

7. Shelby Daytona Coupe: Still has its engine at 10 million so price remains at 20 million.

EDIT: You should change the Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak to UNAVAILABLE instead of UNKNOWN because there's no engine or chassis prices for it.

Net increase of nearly 10m and counting though.

There is just no need. Surely nobody is turning on GT7 and hoping that the prices of cars have changed to match reality, and certainly nobody is going to be happy to see some of these increases whilst earning credits is no easier. As I say, it's literally the same issues we are facing in the real world, brought to a videogame completely unnecessarily.

PD just seem lost in their own world, if they think this is a positive aspect of their game.

I wish racing games were more popular in gaming circles so this nonsense got the attention and pushback it deserves. If they were doing stuff like this in those popular shooting games there would be huge outrage.

Sometimes I feel that they strongly hate their own game and their fans too because so far they are doing everything to punish the players rather than rewarding them.

Just from 3 cars alone, the 330 P4, 911 GT1 and the 300 SL W194 you got a 13.4 million increase.
And now add the MP4/4 and that's another 8 million.

So basically, over 21.4 million extra credits you have to grind, with still the same 3 races and payouts since 5 months ago.

And people... Don't expect EVER the 20 million cars to drop in price. They won't. Those are the halo cars that will only get more valuable as time goes.
I expect the McLaren F1 and Porsche 917k to be 20 million each in a few months.

And cars like the GT40 Mk1 and the Mk4 to be closer to 10 million.

Thanks. JUST! DAMN! on the W194.

As for the Sport quattro, its engine is now swappable, and though it can't be bought, it (likely, as I don't have it) has a "Recommended Retail Price" visible in the Tuning Parts section of the garage like the 787B's engine.

Oh, another engine swap that only .1% of people will get in the game? Nice...

Go to the parts thread, someone should definitely have posted it there already, ask him the price of the engine, since it definitely will show it since the 787B as you said, also shows.

I still have yet to come across one person who is glad about this absurd tie in with Hagerty for "real world" prices of cars. It's one of the most pointless additions to the series so far - paying 19 times more for the McLaren F1 in GT7 compared to GT6 did not give me any more sense of achievement, if anything it just proved how laughably out of touch PD are with their playerbase.

The price of the cars is ok...

We could literally ignore them if we had a wide variety of races that could pay decently well, over 3 or 4 million per hour, at the end game, which pretty much after 6 months most of us who bought the game at launch should be in.

But we don't. The best paying event in the game gives you ~2 million per hour and this is due to a glitch in the PP settings that PD still hasn't fixed yet. Without the glitch, the best you can get is ~1.85 million per hour.
And there's only, realistically, 3 events in the game worth doing for "grinding" (Sardegna, Tokyo and Le Mans). The best one is Tokyo, so if you go for the other 2 go get some variety, the grind time increase by quite a bit since Le Mans is a 1.6 million and Sardegna is at best 1.7 million.

In terms of getting all of the cars in the game right now which is at about 480 million credits (more or less), that's 240 hours of doing the same race over and over, and this is ignoring tuning, which I have gone to the trouble of getting the full parts price for every car, which is at over 200 million.
And... This isn't taking into account the fact that if you want to have some fun doing custom races with the same car but different liveries, you have to buy duplicates, same if you want to have a stock car and a fully tuned one.

Its beyond unreasonable. You take over 10 hours to get just one 20 million car. No car should take anywhere near double digit hours of credit grind to get. None... Half of that would be within reason.

Quattro engine costs 1,075,000

Thanks. So price remains the same at 2.15 million

Absurd, absolutely absurd. This is a video game. Much of the real world is currently facing massive inflation and rising costs, millions of people are concerned about it and how they're going to pay for things.

For PD to needlessly bring this negativity into a fictional game created for fun, that people play to ESCAPE reality even for just a few hours, is ridiculous.

Nobody wants this. Nobody thinks this is fun.
Well said.

But for every well placed and reasoned criticism, another vlogger/shill on PD/Sony's payroll will publish something on the internet to justify and praise it.

I question who is conceptualising and enforcing these daft decisions, and I fear this will continue until more gamers flock to other titles instead.

Simple strategy - just don't bother with the hyper expensive cars. Most I have spend in Legends is 6 million for the D Type, I'm just ignoring the vast majority.
I mean you're right, that is a strategy, but not a very good one if you actually do want to drive those cars. After all, isn't that what PD put them in the game for? To drive them?

It's just making it like real life, putting rare and desirable cars out of the reach of most people.

The price on the W194 has to be wrong, right? I was going to be VERY close to completing my Legends in this cycle, but if this is accurate, I will still have quite a ways to go. :(

I'd like to drive them, but don't want to grind for about a hundred hours to do that, when there are much cheaper vehicles available that I can spend my time with. Most fun I've had in the game is with the 300k Alpine A220. Will just wait until credits are more freely available to get the likes of the Daytona. If that takes a year or so, so be it - there's other stuff to play in the meantime. I don't feel the rush.

Sure but don't forget these prices are being 'adjusted' every three months, and we all know it's going to be a net increase each time.

With that plus the costs of new cars they add you may be in a net negative position in a year compared to now!

This is what they want you to think! FOMO !!! Must buy now, don't want to grind, oh look, I can just buy the credits.

Pretty much. They should hire Mrs Doyle to just give you that last little nudge towards them.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Wow, PD is effortlessly trying to make sane people go mad huh?

This Hagerty thing is useless!
Oh, Hagerty you say?

Did you know Hagerty provides valuations and vehicle insurance for classic cars and has sponsored some historic car events in recent years?

(Still can't believe they wrote that in patch notes)

You get those words away from me.

Don't let it go unnoticed that the best way to grind something in a game like Gran Turismo would be to have a championship of 5-10 races where the overall payout would average like 4 million an hour or something.

And... that we haven't gotten a single new championship whatsoever despite the 10 or so at launch, which quite frankly, were an insult to even be called championships really. Most of them 2-3 races, and those with 2 were like the same circuit and the reverse one.

Still can't believe how they could **** up the design and layout of this game so damn much.

Yeah, after a FOMO up-arrow on its second appearance.
As far as I know, the arrows don’t indicate about what is about to come, they indicate about what just happened. So an arrow basically means nothing at all.

I just bought the Prius in protest of all this Kazflation nonsense. 💩

the 911 and 300 sl both have ridiculous price increases... with that being said I'm glad I'm done with Hagerty... only thing left are the new cars that just released
