J_Turner, you've been added.

Ken, you've been updated. I think 39.0 is probably a pretty good time, I was running 38.5's with the offline physics and expected it to be a bit slower when we switched to online physics. I haven't had a chance to run it and check lap times since we've been back online. I'll post my results when I do.

I'm going to do a long tire/fuel test as well to see what kind of mileage we can expect. With the offline physics I ran out of fuel after 37 laps, not sure if that will change online. With the addition of the draft it could change significantly though. I could see getting as many as 3 extra laps on a fuel load if the draft is used wisely, but I have no data to base this on yet. Just an estimate. If anybody else wants to do some tire/fuel tests and post the results here, that would help to see if there are any discrepancies or if we're all on about the same page.

Got a room open now if anyone wants a practice.

38.842 is my best so far. Consistantly getting 39.0's too.

Hey you need to delete some from friends and add me, CrAzY_bAsSiSt_83

And I'll be home around 5pm cst & can do a quick 3 lap quali. If you can hold the room open till 630pm est I'll be able to run real quick.

I'm undecided if we're going to do 3 laps or 4 laps for the qualifying runs. By doing 4 laps (4th lap is a "cool-down" lap) we'd have a whole lap to get both times recorded. I'd like to do a practice session with somebody if possible to see how much time we'll have to record the final lap time on a 3 lap run. As long as we have a few seconds to see that lap time before it puts up the results screen will stick with 3 laps. But remember the 1st lap is a "warm-up" lap and only laps 2 and 3 will count. The times from those 2 laps will be added together and your qualifying time will be the average of those times.

If im still on when you start the qualifying let me know. I'll do my laps whenever i can.

Plus my FGT is Green&Yellow

On qualify. We do four laps in the WSGTC. First one warm up second and third count. Fourth is there so if run more then one car they can finish the third lap with no worries.

All we ask is to finish that fourth lap. Do so under a slower pace. If you screw up on the first lap.. You kinda screwed your qualifier. So be sure to keep it off the walls. As well keep it pusher the white line. As long as two tires are touching white line. You are good.

It will seem simpler once we start making runs. ;)

I cleared several spots on my friends list. So those trying to add. Try again please.

As well everything is ran in open lobby. So truly you won't need to be friends. Just the lobby number or search Indy Oval. ;)

We will go with 4 laps (Lap 1 = warmup lap. Laps 2-3 = hot laps. Lap 4 = cool down lap). Average time between laps 2 and 3 will be your qualifying time.

Is there an advantage to running in an open lobby as opposed to a private lobby? Every time I host something in an open lobby I spend half my time booting unwelcomed people that start driving backwards on the track. I usually avoid public rooms whenever possible.

Open lobby has two key advantages.

1) open means anyone can enter the lounge. Guys like me have full lists. 20 of which are close friends/family rest GTPers so with that it definitely makes sense to keep it public

2) Is tire wear and temp. The open lobby tire comes to temp much faster. This is why the WSGTC is ran in an open lobby vrs private lounge

Are we wanting to average the runs or take their best of the two? If someone gets a good run on lap two and crashes or butches the third then they kinda butch the whole run using average.

I am open here. Just something of concern.

I say we use whatever they use IRL...

In real life they do the average of laps, that's the only reason we're doing it that way. Trying to be as close to real life as we can. In real life, if you botch it on your second lap you pay the price.

Regarding the tire temps warming up faster in a public room; will that even be a factor over only 2-3 laps? I want everybody to be on equal footing so we'll both have to host the sessions the same way, but I'm rather opposed to doing anything in a public room because of bad manners, constant distractions by randoms, and spending more time booting people than racing. I'd hate to have people qualifying being constantly distracted by the chat box always popping up right over their entry point because some random entered or exited the room.

If you don't have any room on your friends list though, I guess we'll have to do it in public rooms.

If we have this set in stone, can I qualify in a couple hours?
A couple hours as in 3.

Hey, I wont be able to make the race. You can go ahead and remove me.
Sadly, I'll have to withdraw from the race as well as I'm involved in a championship battle in another series that's being run on the same day of the week and chances are this race could run over the time that the other race is scheduled. Sorry. :(

Owens, PM or text me both lap times for the qualifying sessions and I'll figure the average and start updating the OP with them. 👍

I can get on but not for about another 20-30 minutes if you think you'll be on for that long.

So I gather he was talking about his average speed there. :)

Got three racers qualified tonight!

Congrats and excellent job guys. Really fast times tonight. Gonna be tough to beat. ;)

I've started posting official Qualifying times to the OP, I will continue to update as more sessions are run. 👍
