Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if the PSN will be back up in time for us to have the race. I sure hope so, but I stopped holding my breath a week ago.

I might try to do a long practice race today, just for something to do. I've been using the Like the Wind race to earn a little money while I'm practicing/conditioning but it's only 5 laps at a time so I'm in 1st by turn 2. lol

Tired, how did you set your 50 lap race up? Was it a one-make in Practice mode or did you do Arcade mode? I've tried the one-make in Practice mode and the AI was sloooooooow! I don't think they shift into 7th gear.

We discussed having a pace car but instead opted to have a 16th driver. Since Owens and I are taking up 2 spots already we wanted to allow as many other people to participate as possible. We won't be doing any kind of cautions either. Thanks for the offer though. 👍

SUPER BORING driving by yourself against the PATHETIC AI. Believe me at Indy they are SLOTHS. You could almost keep up in one of the Nascars.

Never mind on the downforce, you run minimum anyways at Indy. So no mimicking the online lounge. Although in the Ferrari F1 you can to some degree.

If the PSN doesn't come back on until, say, the weekend before our qualifying week, do you plan on just skipping practice or pushing the race back a week or two?

I'm really itching to get some practice with some real people. The PSN being down for this length of time is really bugging me!

I did it in Practice mode to assess fuel and tyre use. I could have done it in Arcade mode I suppose but I always use practice mode.

The AI was bouncing the revs off the limiter every time they got to one of the two long straights.

What times will qualifying be on? I can only do the friday one and it will need to be a good time.

Also can someone trade me a FGT? I have a few Le Mans cars and I have the Nomad Diablo and some other stuff.

I hope Indy gets as packed this year as it was in that video. Hopefully being the 100th anniversary it'll be pretty full. Attendance was definitely lacking at last years event.

Oh and seeing as I have all the formula cars I need I can shoot you a spare level 24 ticket. It only gives the FGT, F2007, and F10 so after a little saving and reloading you can get the FGT.

I think we might have an earlier qualifying session on Friday so that will hopefully fit your time schedule. We will be having several qualifying sessions to try to fit as many schedules as possible. Hopefully everyone will be able to find a time that works for them. When we get closer to that time and get a working network we will post sign ups for each qualifying session.

Yeah that's sounds good. I need it on the Sunday before or on Friday at around 7 BST(6 GMT). And I don't think you could on the Sunday because it's not really the week before, it's like the day before everything starts.👍

And thanks Heinz.:D

Wow. Even if they get it on a week earlier than their goal of the 31st, that's still two days past the scheduled date of our race. At least I have the real 500 to look forward to.

:banghead: Stupid stupid stupid hackers. A month a go I was looking forward to some small online racing because my junior cert(Irish state exam) starts on the 8th of June. Now I get pretty much none.:grumpy:

jml101, welcome to the group, you've been added to the registration list.

I guess we should probably start discussing a schedule change for this race, due to the ongoing PSN saga. Ironically, the real Indy 500 will throw a small wrench in the works as several of us (the 2 hosts included) will be attending the race in person. I will also be going to Carb Day the Friday before the race (May28). So if we can't make the originally planned date we will most likely have to push it back to the first weekend of June (Sunday, June 5). That would give us the whole week to have qualifying/practice sessions, bump day on Saturday (June 4) and the race on Sunday.

This, of course, is all dependent on the PSN service being restored by then and we can't really set any dates in stone until we have our network back. According to the latest reports from Sony, we should have services restored by then so hopefully we won't have to make an additional schedule change from the one posted above.

Just to be clear, we will only change the scheduled date of the race if PSN service is not restored by then. If we can get online and race by Monday, May 16th then we can still hold our qualifying sessions and have the race as originally planned. Stay tuned for more details.

Grrrrr, there is an EXTREMELY high chance that I will have real racing one of those days. :)/:(
So, I can't say for sure if I'll be there if it's on any other day....
We'll see.
:banghead:

I'd like to give this a shot, I race in a league already and race a lot of nascar around this track in subleagues too. Sounds like fun, I love endurance races.

Hey guys! Welcome back, we're officially online!! Looks like we should be able to go ahead with this race as originally planned, or close to it anyway. Owens and I will figure out how we're going to schedule qualifying sessions and we will post them up here when it's figured out.

I'd like to give everyone at least a couple days to get some practice online so they can get their setups dialed in before we start qualifying. So maybe we'll have some tuning/practice sessions today and tomorrow and then start Qualifying sessions on Tuesday through Friday. We're going to do Qualifying as a 3 lap race with 1 car on track, the last 2 laps will be averaged to determine your official time. So it should only take a few minutes per driver.

It might be helpful it participants could post times they would be available this week to qualify and then we can get a schedule together. We could either have a room open for a couple hours or we could organize a single run through PM's and wehenver Owens or I can hook up with you we can hold your qualifying run.

I will be holding practice races for the Cappuccino Cup for a few hours but 1 of us should be able to have an official Indy 500 practice room open today too, so send friend requests to BrandonW77 and OwensRacing once you're able to get online and look for our lounges!

We are still accepting more drivers too. If we have enough, we will hold an Indy Lights race at half distance for those who don't qualify for the big race. 👍

^Just a North American Indy500? The rest of the world is still offline...

You guys are phasing in and most likely be on by days end. I hope so. I feel your pain. Trust me. Millions of us do. ;)

On a positive. It's so great to be back online racing with friends.

UK back online. Should be ready for any quailifying between 21:00 BST and 00:00 BST (16:00 EDT and 19:00 EDT) this week.

18. #83 CrAzY_bAsSiSt_83 (GTP_CrAzY_bAsS) / Color TBD

change to:

18. #?? GTP_CrAzY_bAsS (CrAzY_bAsSiSt_83) / Purple & White

Idk the number, I thought I could change it since it is a Standard Car.

And for the PSN ID use CrAzY_bAsSiSt_83 as this is my main account with the FGT.
