Great, America gets a Jeff Gordon seasonal event while the rest of the world gets the DC seasonal event. Thanks for being polarizing, PD.

The actual event finalists didnt seem to be playing online if im correct? i didnt see any times at 1:16.86 (which was the fastest) as the the rankings were continuously being updated..

Also this is not really A thread to come and complain at the fact you cannot do the seasonal event..

Well that was fun. Was in the top 3 for a while, managed to get a sub 16 lap.. my shoulder is too sore to play anymore and I'm away for the week anyway so best of luck guys... whatever it is the prize is?

Nope. US gets the jumpsuit, EU gets the world famous racing driver, Asia gets a crummy POS Datsun (WITH SRF ON??!?!?!!??! DISGRACING US MUCH, PD??!?) on the MX5 track.

Anyways……what's the fastest time? Still held by a GTP user, I hope?

Can I just say after looking at the rankings that GTP is STILL ON TOP!! Go MarkWebber (aka GTP_DHolland), who is currently #1 on the online rankings. 👍

You took part? Or did you just drive with the livestream playing? I did a 19.something a week ago with a DS3. I feel like a noob now compared to them :D

I just had a laptop next to me with the livestream playing.

Incidentally, I have got down to a 17.0 now. I know I can get into the 16s, but just can't put a perfect lap together.

I wonder how did it reset for them in the pods then?

The consoles weren't online, so the chances are it was a specific build for those machines as opposed to a seasonal event - and we got to see a bug they didn't.

Few hundredths off that time round damn it. :D Awesome combo.

edit: .303 invalidated on the first corner xD

edit2: that's better. :P

1.17.3 with the DS3, happy with that. Am sure I could get another second or so with the wheel though. And all that time would come at the hammerhead, compared to a 1.16 ghost I am equal to it at the apex and 9 tenths down by the next split!

I managed to get to a 1:16.757, with the DS3.

I'm ahead of all but DC at the event (albeit with 90 more minutes and only 110th online), but I think that's about all I can get for today.

I think Bacharach is probably the hardest corner as Coulthard alluded to, because it's such a difficult corner to spot the entry for, and you are coming from a very wide to a very narrow section of road.

This event is a bit off... I'd imagine the tyres on the real SLS are around Sports Hards at the least, not Comfort's, let's face it comforts are what Ford put on some crapbox Mondeo whereas sports would be say, Toyo Proxes (that still end up on some crapbox chav car probably), so I think that's off.

I also think the penalties are way way off on this, sorry but a tiny 1 wheel off and my lap's invalidated? Please... I've been running this track since I got GT5 and sorry to say this is a bit harsh...

Plus I can't alter anything at all on the in-race tuning, so the race itself is glitched...

The stock tires on the real SLS sits somewhere between a real "S" tires and regular Comfort tires that handle wet/slippery conditions. It's actually Continental ContiSportContact 5P and while it's not as fully threaded as an all season comfort tires, it's not as threadbare as for example, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup (which is classified more as a semi-slick).

I would still consider the Continental Sport Hard tires but you need to consider the fact that in GT5's Practice/TT mode (either Arcade or in GT Life), there's no physics simulation of tire temperature/wear. So basically, the tires are performing at its optimal level in TT mode. So in order to simulate tires with normal wear, you need to step down one compound (ideally, there should be one or two extra compound for all three types of tires). The difference I found when going CS to SH is around 1 seconds for every minute lap which isn't much but do add when you're doing lap around a longer track like the Nordschleife.

Managed a 1:16.262 with a G27 wheel. Can easily be improved on (overshot the entry to the Hammerhead), but it's so damn difficult to get all the corners together for one good lap.

What was the BUG?

Here's a new question for all those viewing this thread, would any of you be able to do me and the rest of GTP a favor.
If you have a dupe account or whatever, could you run a really slow time so we can find out roughly how many people have entered total? Would be pretty interesting to know.

what settings? Best i could do before was 1.18.5 abs1 no other assist. Im losing most time on the first corner

Submitting intentionally slow times is against SCEE terms and conditions.
You could be arrested and/or shot in the leg for the mere suggestion.

I managed 1:19 in arcade. :grumpy: Granted my pedals haven't been mounted upside down yet, while they're inverted so everything is backwards for me.

First of all
Secondly, I simply requested someone do a really slow warm up lap. What they do after that is up to them.

1. GTP_Aderrrm 1:15.185
2. Palette_64GP 1:15.233
3. GTP_Sutuki 1:15.247
4. GTW_HILARIO 1:15.275
5. GTP_DHolland 1:15.286

So, in 15 minutes (driving barefoot mind you, something that really hampers me) I managed three valid laps.

1'19.5
1'18.256
1'17.300

So with just two more valid laps I should be down to low 1'15s... :sly:
