All I can say is wow. The books look very well-made and thought out. I would absolutely love to buy this(and continue to do so until I have the last volume) but... i'm an 18 year old with no income :D

This might just be the single greatest book set of all time if it really includes 10,000 car brands... that's just insane. I had no idea there was even close to that number. Even if there is a couple missing cars from a couple manufactures , who cares? There's 30,000-40,000 other cars you've probably never heard of!

Just to clarify, as of right now...
Each volume will cost $120, including shipping
There will be an estimated 60 volumes?
How thick will a 400-page hardcover be? Looking at the pictures, it looks to be around 1.5 inches maybe?

Regardless of the above, there is no way I will ever forget about this project. I know for a fact later on in life I'll pick up a couple volumes, but the time isn't right now. I sincerely hope you can get a profit from this because you deserve it.

edit- when you get the website up, do you mind messaging me the link? I will only check this thread periodically but would really love to see the website as soon as it's put up.

Thank you for your appreciation.
Yes, the price and number of volumes is correct.
A volume is around 2.5 to 3 centimeters thick . That's between 0.7 and 1 inch.

I know that it's pretty hard for some people to collect the whole series, no matter how much they want to, so there is also available a low-cost version: paperback; black&white interior, with 40 USD including worldwide shipping cost. I'll add some photos of it A.S.A.P.

Update

Publishing plan for 2013:
The most complete car encyclopedia - Volumes I and II
The most complete car encyclopedia - Tuner series - Volume I

Car brand dedicated encyclopedia:

Alfa-Romeo car encyclopedia
Abarth car encyclopedia
Acura car enyclopedia
Audi car encyclopedia
Aston-Martin car encyclopedia
Austin car encyclopedia
AMC car encyclopedia

PS: I'm looking for resellers.
The main advantage for a reseller is that the delivery time is much lower and the only condition is to sell them at the recommended price.
The resellers will be written on the resellers page, by country, with shipping times for their country, with a link to their online store, e-bay store or amazon store or other local sale websites.
E-mail me for further information. (allcarbrands@yahoo.com)

Looks interesting, but I'm a bit concerned about the accuracy of content.

That is a huge amount of vehicles to keep track off.

I can assure you that the information is highly accurate and originates mostly of official or semi-official sources, as press releases, brochures, official books and only when not available, comes in the other indirect sources which are thoroughly verified.
As a comparison, it is more accurate than the Wikipedia, as i have found lots and lots of errors there...

PS: These days, i spend two hours per day to add in the database the official information, that i receive on e-mail as i have account on all constructors media site. The most demanding are the Chinese ones, as they have around 500 active car manufacturers and only few of them have press releases and media sites and i need to check on them regularly.

Another good argument is that i have worked on the database since 1991, on daily basis, totaling 50.000 hours of work, with 8 to 10 hours/day in the last years.

When the information was not trusted, it was not added, better to be scarce than not accurate.
The database was not developed using the car websites, i have verified there for missing brands and i have found on all car websites misleading information and even car brands that does not really exist.

In each volume, there are few models that are missing photos. I have photos for them, but they were not included because of copyright issues.

Good work man!
Thanks !

Have you sold any yet?
Yes, I sold enough to have a monthly income, so i can say i am self employed now. In conclusion,. this project will be finished, until the last volume.
The pace of releasing the volumes will be quicker now. I have been delayed only by a medical problem of a family member but now i am full time on this project.

The best part is that the buyers from the first volume are so pleased with what they have received as all of them want to buy the whole series, without hesitation.

I need this. So much. I can't believe there are so many car manufacturers I've never heard of. How many more volumes until Porsche is included? :dopey:

When you want it, you just have to contact me.
Porsche will probably be around volume 50.

I have to say something more. I have found car manufacturers in almost every country, including Andorra, Namibia, Nepal and other countries, that most people think, they had no attempt in the car industry.

PS: If you think to the book collection as a whole, it will cost something, if you think that the whole series will be published in 10 years, the monthly cost is not high at all. Is just something like a game addiction, and buying game titles. Anyway, there is also the low cost Black&white version.
Here is the cover of the Volume I as it cannot be seen anymore, in the older attachments:

I wish I wasn't poor... I'd pick both current editions up right now.

I'm sorry to hear that.

By the way. Since i took a pause after the second volume, which will last only until Monday, i made a count of the database content. The result is crazy: there are more than 20.000 car brands and 100.000 models.

There are more than 1000 car brands starting with letter A.

Holy 🤬

Thanks !

You don't have an idea of how happy I am of hearing this. It's pretty awesome that such a big project is actually picking pace. Very cool 👍

Hello.
I have a poll for you !
I have received several requests so i need more answers on this issue.
Besides offering the printed version of "The most complete car encyclopedia" i have received requests to make it available to bee seen in a website, with a monthly subscription, which gives full access to the car encyclopedia.
Probably something like 3 USD/month 30 USD/year.

I need to know how many of you are interested about it. If there are enough people, i will start thinking seriously about this.
Many thanks.

Oh.
It will be a 3 usd/month, 15 usd/6 months and 25 USD/year.
I'm sure i can upload more than 100 models/day.

PS: until then i'll race in GT6 (Sarthe and manual Shuffle). I'll probably quit doing that when upload starts at least until letter A is complete (around 1300 car brands, 5000 models and 20.000+ photos). After that i'll probably race GT6 one hour/day.
