This week's challenges...

1 - Smallest four-wheel drive car
The term 4x4 usually conjures up images of massive gas-guzzlers, let's see who can spot the smallest 4WD/AWD car.
1 point

2 - Quickest front-wheel drive car
The term FWD usually conjures up images of boring family hatchbacks, let's see who can spot the quickest 'boring' car.
1 point

3 - Slowest rear-wheel drive car
The term RWD usually conjures up images of sporty two seaters or big GT's, let's see who can spot the slowest 'exciting' car.
1 point

4 - Heaviest two-wheel vehicle
Bikes should be light to be fun, but let's see who can spot the heaviest.
1 point

BONUS - Fast Five
Take photos of five of the fastest (top speed) cars that you can find, combine the top speeds and whoever has the highest total wins.

Thanks for making the winner's decision easy Gashly. Very gentlemanly! Categories up there ^

Yay for me! :D Thanks Gashly. I could have won the whole thing if I'd have posted my 80s car. Well, if anyone had posted any 80s car they'd have won.

I'll have to get my thinking cap on.

Rue
Bonus: Rainbow 6
Gashlycrumb: US$400,273

I'd like to see this one added out, with prices listed for each car. I believe he used as-new prices for vehicles which are no longer new, and I believe I won this category. Furthermore, the GAP price adjustment was NOT used since the Audi S5 he has as $137,900 NZD is NOT $107,000 USD, and that's not a fair comparison.

Please either calculate it on GAP, or take the NZD values of the cars I spotted - they are unquestionably higher.

No problem, Doug. I was hoping that there wouldn't be any maths involved in working out the winners of the contest, as I'm thoroughly daft in the subject. I'll give it a shot.

EDIT: I've spent the best part of two hours trying to work this out based on working Doug's cars out at their NZ value. Doug, I have found out the NZ$ price of the cars you spotted, but apparantly the Hummer and Element aren't sold officially in NZ.

M5power's cars...
Volvo XC90 V8 - NZ$124,990
Range Rover - NZ$179,990
Merc. R320 CDi - NZ$103,900
Mini Cooper S Conv. - NZ$52,900
Hummer H2 SUT - N/A
Honda Element XT - N/A

That's a total value of NZ$461,780 which gives the Element and Hummer H2 a target combined value of NZ$58,200 to beat the NZ$519,979 target set by Gashly to win. The H3* is officially available in NZ with a base price of NZ$68,990 and the nearest Honda is the base CR-V at NZ$38,400.

*The H2 SUT is considerably more expensive than the H3 in the US - almost double the price.

Gashly, your Boxster is the previous model and the figure you gave of NZ$119,000 is for the current shape.

Based on all the above I would say that Doug would snatch it.

God, I'm really displaying my ignorance here. Gotta go to bed it's 2am! Will follow up in the morning.

I'll step in and recalculate this one presently.

The GTR Commodore is the new VE. Only the Porsche was a previous model (which is why I said when new next to the price), all the the others are current models.

Thanks Gashly, I've deleted my query from my post accordingly.

Doug's car look to be more valuable than mine. He edited after I last looked through his which is why I didn't query it at the time. I am happy to hand the point to him, to save Famine the maths :)

Then it looks like we have a winner of the bonus round. Congrats Doug! I have updated the scores accordingly.

You mean the ones I put at the top of this page? Should be this coming Friday shouldn't it? Seems Famine's been pretty busy over the Christmas hols as he hasn't got a chance to update the first page for a while.

btw ferrari_chris it's your turn to choose the cats for next week.

Cars only for the 'slowest' categories right? Saw a lot of rear-drive trucks today that I wanted to photograph!

I've got all of mine in mind for this week, except a motorcycle, which will be approaching impossible to find at all.

Let's stick to cars. If it was 'fastest' there may be some quite cool entries, what with a lot of people here being from the US, Oz and New Zealand.

Quite so! I didn't even get a chance to work out the GAP prices from earlier!

No commercials unless otherwise stated by the category-picker.

Sorry - I listened to "trucks" with my British voice. My bad

I figured as much but I wasn't sure if that was the direct 'translation.' I was referring to pickups. What do you call pickups in the UK?

Good effort, Gashly. Can you just post the pics of the one car in each category though, just to make it a little easier for me to see which one you're using.

How are you judging the smallest 4wd? Is it by length or volume (LxWxH)?

I've marked my final choices in red. Except for the bonus as there is only one answer for that :)

This week's categories, as handed down to me on tablets of stone:

Most Riced Vehicle: the most 'riced' vehicle you can find. Can be a ute (pickup truck), 4WD (SUV), car, or whatever you find. You're going to want neons, stickers, huge spoliers, stuff like that.

Largest Engine for the Smallest Car: The largest engine size relative to the overall size of the car. It'll be engine capacity (cc) divided by car volume (length*width*height) in centimetres. So a car with a 2litre engine (2000cc) is 2500cm long, by 1500cm wide, by 1000cm tall, it'll be 3750000/2000 = 1875. The smaller the number, the better.

Most colours on one car: Decals don't count on this one, we need large colour patches. A different colour boot/bonnet combo. does count. We really want two tone, three tone (?) vehicles for this one. Although, a car with four shades of primer on it is onto a winner! *EDIT* - wow, I didn't know these existed when I thought up this category. If you spot one, you'll probably win.

You're towing that?!: This'll be a judgement category on my call. The weirdest combination of car and trailer. An S2000 with a caravan, a crusty 1960s mobile with some bling dirt bikes on the back worth more than the car itself. Something weird.

Special Category: Deployable spoiler, deployed. Cars that have spoilers that are raisable/lowerable - we want to see them in the 'up' position. One point for each person that spots one photo, but feel free to submit any entries for this category (still only get you one point though).

Have at it!
