Would anyone protest if I waited until tomorrow to work out the winners? I'm absolutely knackered...

As long as it is done before Friday I don't think it really matters. You must be worn out after spotting all those Ferrari's and Porsches. I think you deserve a lie down :D

Haha! Yeah, I don't think breathing in carbon-monoxide for 2 hours helps!

Categories for next week

1) Oldest car on the road - Must be driving on the road
2) Mother and Child Reunion - current generation model in the same photo as an example of the previous generation
3) Boomin' Grannies - Quickest car most likely to be driven by a pensioner
4) Junker - Worst condition car still being driven

Bonus - Independent tuner. Find an example of a car produced by an independent tuner. For example a RUF Porsche, Alpina BMW, Mugen Honda, Toms Toyota or a Corsa Special Vehicles Holden. In house tuners (ie HSV,AMG,Mazda Speed, M-Tech) don't count. One Point no matter how many you spot.

Bugger! I completely forgot about the scavenger hunt this week!

Gah! Stupid cumbersome camera! I was so close to topping the snow pictures. I just sawa 997 Turbo Cab in the snow on the way home from the liquor store, and a couple of nights ago saw a DB9 Volante in the flakes. For the latter, I managed to whip out my camera but it's not much more than a couple taillights...

This is the first time I've pulled a picture off of my phone. Kind of really crappy. Good to know.

I'm in a bit of a problem. I have spotted a third-gen Cutlass Supreme - actually driven by a pensioner - but I can't find a reliable 0-60 source. Some spots say 7.5s, some say 6s, some 14.

Same with a '64 Mercury Comet, where times range from 6.0/6.2s all the way to 11.4s.

That's exactly my problem - I have trouble finding that reputable source. CarDomain and owners aren't a very reliable source.

It is too late, yes. Not that it would make any difference to the results.

But it would make the contest slightly more interesting having more than one competitor.

I like the plate on that Porsche :D

Welsh people and Porsches? It can't be!

Sorry I haven't been participating here as much as I should be lately - this week is absolutely horrendous for me. Rest assured I'll be back!! :D

I'll try to participate with my camdamera-phone. I don't want to brutalize my real camera in the cold. I've got a couple cars in my neighborhood that might fit the bill.

I found that. It gave a 7.7 for a 1500kg, 170hp RWD Manual - i.e. my Volvo. Actual time is 15.8. For the Mini - FWD, manual, 45hp, 800kg inc. driver - it gave 14.2. Actual time is 20.3. :odd: indeed.

Are you guys putting in the weights as pounds by mistake?

My 138hp/2424lb (1100kg)/FWD/Manual car returns a 7.7 - as close to reality as makes no odds...

Metar's 200hp/3747lb (1700kg)/RWD/Manual car returns 7.5 as opposed to 6.

I put mine in as pounds. 800kg/1765lb, 45hp, FWD, Manual, 14.2 seconds. Santa Pod told me I did a quater mile in 20.5 seconds at 62mph - and my Mini's top speed is a lot higher than that :)

:embarrassed:

It still gives 6.4 seconds for the 250HP car which I have spotted.

Though various sources claimed 6-second runs are common for them :odd:

I thought I should post up next weeks categories while I remember.

1) Fish out of water - Find a car that just shouldn't be where it is. Ie a Veyron at a ski-field with ski-racks, a beat up old Corolla parked outside a Five Star Hotel or a Smart Fortwo at a Monster Truck rally. Oddest example wins.

2) Towin' in the wind - Find an expensive car being towed by a towrope, towtruck or on a trailer. Car transporters don't count.

3)My rims, they be a spinnin'
spinners.gif
- Find the worst example of Spinners

4)My baby does 0-60 in 3.5 - Find the fastest car with a "Baby on Board" bumper sticker/window sign or a visible child seat.

Bonus: A Rolls-Royce in a colour other than white, black or silver.
