I'll just add my 0.02, as I've been out of theme ideas this tournament - I'd hope the "Same Shot" idea wouldn't get used, if only because we'd then be voting solely on peoples' editing skills, instead of their shot-taking skills, and PMC/2.0 have always been more focused on the photography aspect :)

That's just me of course - I'm excited as to what sorts of themes will be laid out for the first round participants :D

"Same Shot" is a nice idea, but I don't think that'd be fair in reality. Some people's editing skills only reach so far (for example mine, I have no idea how to work with layers, yet I've won two 2.0s :lol:). And I think Picasa vs GIMP vs Lightroom vs PS... I'll agree with SlipZtrEm.
 
I like the same shot idea but not for the tournament, Maybe it could be used if there was another 3.0 comp perhaps ?, Possibly have an open PMC one week and the winners photo gets to be the star for the 3.0 or something along those lines.

Just had an idea for a theme to take on file:

Both the rivals (maybe in the final round) have to use absolutely identical weapons. There has to be a certain car of certain colour and it has to be shot at a certain corner of a certain track or location. My all-time favourite theme.

* Cars: a certain one with a certain colour
* Tracks: a certain corner or spot of a certain track
* Photo Travel: Yes (a certain corner or spot of a certain location)
* Unique restrictions: Shoot a car according to CCCCCCCL specs

Sounds stupid or thrilling?
What do you tghink?

I like the idea. I was also thinking of give 2 people the same replay and see what they come up with.
 
The replay idea is also fine.
Fighting with identical material to select the best of the best. Why not!

I like this theme, could be good. But i'd add the restriction of no F1 cars and no redbulls... For two reasons... 1: I dislike the redbulls entirely and having this as a theme means i might have to drive the blasted thing :crazy: lol
and 2: I wouldn't class them as cars in the right respect for GT5... maybe it's me but I see GT5 as a driving simulator for stereotypical cars (covered wheels etc) and i dunno... F1 cars... There's already a game devoted entirely to that sport... lol

And on a COMPLETELY different note... your profile picture is a cool idea. Could the switch be sped up sufficiently (perhaps 10-15fps) to generate an optical illusion of 3D which is a bit more fluent than that?

EDIT: saved a copy of your DP and opened it in quicktime (hope you dont mind :scared:) and played it at 3x speed. didnt really give the effect i was hoping for... may try with two images i extrapolated from a GT5 MPO file... If anything works as I hope i'll save it and let you know :P

EDIT Numero 2: Not as good as i'd hoped for... just gave me a little bit of a headache :S lol
