I've noticed that there's a big difference between shooting a theme and then voting for the pics in terms of interpretation. It would help that the theme description is also present in the poll. Or maybe the themes have just become a little too complicated?

I've noticed this to be an issue as well. I find myself scrolling up and down to make sure I have the theme in mind when voting. And when you get down to where the pictures are so good in their own right, the one that best fits the theme should end up with the vote so having it readily available would be of benefit.

explanation: This phrase came up when a whole truck got blown up in the 1969 version of "The Italian Job", and went on to become one of the favourite movie lines, you will be re-enacting this scene with only the bloody doors blown off in GT5.

Hey all,

It's that time again, and I'm please to announce the fifth season of the Photomode Tournament, starting it's qualifying round on Sunday the 11th of November.

Again, I didn't scheduled this tournament, but it will have it's end between before christmas

The tournament will have the same format as the other ones - a knock-out type of competition - with probably some rules alteration and no more than 16 (32 if there are more than 34 entries for each side) entrants passing through the qualifying round, being it PMC or 2.0.

There may be some prizes, like the last tournament, I will leave to anyone who wants to sponsor any prize, but please, make sure you send me a private message regarding it.

As for now, you know the drill, write in this thread any theme you would like it to be featured in the tournament. Make sure you follow the format bellow and some common sense . Make sure you read first post for themes already used in past tournaments.

Only 1 subject in the photo can be coloured, every other thing has to be in B/W.

Bruises in Rallies
The GT5 premium rally cars have great damage modelling. Try hitting the cars real hard, you'd be amazed at the damage model.
The shot must show the car being damaged, be it a dent to a hanging door.
Now, shoot that carnage.
Cars: Premium rally cars (C4 WRC, SX4 WRC, etc.)
Locations: Any
Phototravel (yes/no): No
Unique Restrictions: Car has to have clearly visible damage dealt to it.

Over The River
Some of the bridges in GT5 are amazing- HSR, Eiger, GVS, etc.
Take your car, be it in motion or stasis, and shooting it stopped at/going across a bridge in game.

Through Generations
Since the invention of the motor car, many cars have been invented and reinvented. Most of these cars have a successor. (AE86->GT86, Murcielago>Aventador, etc.)
Bring them side by side, in motion or stasis and capture the moment.
Cars: Must be a successor/predecessor pair.
Locations: Any

Rain. Lots of it.
Crank the weather up to 100% and have it be at 100% surface water.

u dont need a cap card to take photos and export it to your ps3. You use a video and make a video using all of the photos. so i dont see how you think this has to do with recording footage. lol

Theme: Crazy Ivan
Explanation: take a shot of any car skidding backwards. What you do is while traveling fast in a straight line, turn left/right real quickly and brake or use the parking brake and take a shot while the car is facing the opposite direction. Or driving backwards and swinging the car around, which is sometimes easier to accomplish.

Unique Restrictions: more "guidance" than a restriction, but there should be smoke from the tires, and some sense of motion/direction

Theme: Daily Drivers/Everyday Heroes
Explanation: take a shot of cars people drive everyday. I'm American, so I mean stuff like your late 80s, 90s and early 2000s Honda accords, toyotas, trucks, etc. Just nothing exotic, lets say cars that are under or near 30,000 credits in the UCD. Cars available only in countries other than the US, like the Suzuki Wagon would be fine(about 11,000 credits), but something like the 330i BMW (about 40K credits) wouldn't be. I just want to pay tribute to the cars that get (most of) us through life.
Cars: No premiums, race cars, tuners, customized (cars must have stock wheels no aero kit, and preferably stock paint but not needed) or expensive cars
