The Things That Annoy You

I found the song 'Bizcochito' by Rosalía extremely annoying. In Spain she's hugely popular and she's almost 24/7 in the radio (except the news and rock radio) you can hear her music at the gym, shopping malls... argh! I just don't want to listen to her when I'm trying to do my best at Spa 1h while it's raining, just my 2 cents.

I know that feeling too ! But for me it's about songs in french whose lyrics are pathetical at best (not mentionning the obligatory auto-tune voiced singer...)

Weirdly you can not desactivate them, although that would make my visit to brand central less painful

You CAN deactivate them.

I think I know the French song you speak of, can it really not be deactivated? I got sick of hearing 'Squad' in Brand Central and was able to turn that off.

Side note, if you leave Race Music on but disable all tracks then you'll only hear (from memory) Skyscraper, Glowl and maybe one other Daiki Kasho track from GT3, which are otherwise hidden and can't be picked for Music Replay unfortunately.

LOL you get this super cool message saying your freinds would be jealous or envious or something. Why they stopped at level 50 is mindboggling! The fact you can hit it after $50M in car credits when you need $480M to "catch them all". I mean, how hard would it be to get a 5*+ ticket every 25-levels?? Just something
That's right... it's so lame! Congrats you hit level 50 and your reward is a pat on the back and bragging rights! Reaching level 50 isn't even that hard!

Although I've been enjoying tuning and racing my garage car collection in the World Circuits (definitely not for the credits!), I really have reached the point where I can't fathom why PD can't employ a slider difficulty system.

Instead I find myself handicapping myself in various ways (car choice, tyre choice, going easy on power tuning) and switching between Normal and Hard difficulty and then repeating the races over and over until the winning margin is small enough to provide a satisfying challenge.

It's a weird system

That is still no excuse to spread the field out over 20-40 seconds at the start. That goes against the action theory because it usually guarantees you only pass cars one at a time.

A fair few racing games put you towards the middle or back for the reasons you mention, but you're all on the same starting grid/close rolling start.

GT7 remains the only game that does the huge gap rolling start catch up "racing".

Yet, in Custom Races, PD program players to default at 10/20. PD continue to do things consistently inconsistent.

What are the things about GT7 that annoy you the most? Here are a few things that annoy me:
-Having to create a livery to change the colour of a car
-The game forcing you back to the home screen before going to another section of GT Auto
-Not being able to fit every wheel to every car
-Lenient event restrictions
-Lack of proper city courses
That you can't change the paint job without removing factory emblems, that there isn't a place qualifying feature anymore so you have to start in last place in every race

Why have wind and rain, when they move in different directions? Well, on the Le Mans 700pp event, they are out of snyc.
Doesn't wind influence the direction that rain comes from, or am I mistaken?

It doesn't annoy me very much, it is the artificial idiots that really annoy me!

I haven't played all of those games, but I suspect that the cars are usually much closer in performance in them? Because if the game allows you to pick an overpowered car (something GT allows a lot of), you might end up leading the race halfway around the first lap.

Edit: Also, I don't find the cars are that far apart in GT7. In the big money maker races (Spa 1h, Le Mans 30min, etc.) the start feels almost like a normal safety car restart. Yes, you're 20 seconds back, but you would be in such a situation, if you're in P20 (maybe just a little less).

Thats about right. Every race does feel like the last few laps after a restart.

It is the same logic to have snow tires in GT Sport without any track with snow!!!!

Sure but that's a different problem. Races should be more tightly restricted or at least give you a good suggestion on what to enter if they're going to be more open. If you enter something OP and dominate, that's then on you.

Some races are OK, others are not. In a real rolling restart the cars are bumper to bumper. The Spa race isn't too bad, cars are only about 3/4 car lengths apart, and races like Tokyo 600 the rolling starts are not too far apart, but some of the other cafe menu races the gaps between cars are 3-4 seconds.

In this race at Spa for example when you start, the leader is half way down the Kemmel. That isn't promoting action packed racing.

Also, even if it was like a real safety car restart I'm sure you don't need me to point out the obvious that we're not at a safety car restart, we're supposed to be at the start of a race. So what you're saying is all races are actually a "Safety car restart scenario mode". How fun.

I don't do a lot of AI racing but tried the Spa 1 hr Group 3 thingy.

  • The pit strategies of the AI makes ZERO sense, some even pit on the last lap for crying out loud, i mean really?
  • I JUST nerfed the wall on pit entry 9 mins from the end as rain was just starting. I had light damage which is fine but then it dumps me PAST the pit entry, cue an ENTIRE lap in torrential rain on slicks. Race over...... i mean really?

One thing that annoys me is the suddenness of damage repairing itself! I’ve had a few moments where I have damage so am steering left (or right) to keep straight, then get caught out when the damage is fixed! 😂
Lol that happened too me after I had spun out got a 5 sec penalty and when the car repaired I crashed again for another 5 secs hehe

Have said it a few times before and might as well say it again as its still not happened but PLEASE PD put the ability to turn on BoP in time trial back into the game. Totally pointless time trialing Gr.3 cars for example against each other when not bopped.

While i'm at it, it's so annoying not being able to change cars in the custom race mode. have to come all the way back to the garage and back in again and reload the settings.

Watching a replay of a top driver lap time in GTWS round, exiting that replay you get thrown right back to the Sport Mode home page. Have to select GTWS race again, then a time slot again to get back to that page. Stupid.

Hate how the game data is locked to external sites/apps like GTBlade and KudosPrime. Miss using those to get a proper idea of you DR and lap times compare etc.

I also miss the little red dot you had in GT Sport indicating if one of your friends was online in a lobby. You have no idea if they are or not in GT7 without painstaking searching through the online lobby section.

I'm sure I'm in a minority here, but I'd really like a hard mode for the lower-level single player events.

Sure, the WTC 700/800 are challenging even with an on-PP car. But the Sunday Cups for example? Even on hard mode, the only way to experience a true challenge is to handicap yourself.

Why can't we have truly challenging AI in everyday road cars?

Too many things annoy me, but the biggest thing is that PD seems uninterested in offering a great game for us, rather they put out a lackluster version, despite all their experience and success with previous versions. I've just sold my PS5 and will revisit the whole thing if the PS5 Pro proves worthy, and maybe in that time GT7 will start becoming the game I know PD is capable of. Later days, amigos.

In the race menu before you begin the race, if you go to settings, there is an option to change car. Why they stuck it in there I have no idea, but its there right above assist settings and car settings.

That’s only for Time Trial and all other types of races. Custom Race doesn’t have the option. We have to jump out to Time Trial and then back to Custom Race. Just ass backwards by PD.

Le Mans 30 min. PP7pp for example.
It rains, I pit for wets. The pot crew animation (the most hilarious thing in the game) shows them fitting slicks. X laps later the rain stops, I pit for slicks and they are shown fitting Wets, whhhyyy?
No wonder the AI are so flaky😂

So be it? I mean, if the developer is going to let players pick an overpowered car then maybe the point is that the player in this single player game should get to be overpowered. If the developers don't want the player picking an overpowered car, then just don't let them.

Making most races a weird and mostly unfun format just to compensate for the fact that the player may pick an overpowered car is bad design. Especially when arguably half the point of being able to choose and build your own car is to pick something that gives you an advantage.
