The Things That Annoy You

The main screen. The look of it all. The out of scale everything. It looks like a five year old designed and drew it after watching an old Bob Ross episode.
Short races and low payouts. Make each and every race 4x longer. Make payouts 10x greater.
The non-difficulty of the platinum trophy.
Rally. Rally in GT needs to die a death!
That sound the cursor makes after every single click.
Tracks that sound like a 90's musical doorbell.
THE PANDERING TO NOOBS AND CHILDREN! This is the biggie. This is Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo is supposed to be hard. F*&% PATICIPATION TROPHIES.
The complete randomness of some vehicles... Willys Jeep... Give me Thrust SSC and a salt flat. Or a top fuel dragster.
The massive hard on they have for VGT's. I would gladly swap all VGT's in the game for one Escort Cosworth. I'd swap all VGT's in the game for one Reliant Robin LOL

That the miles on your qualifying time trial don't count towards your daily workout.
It's all part of Kaz's mysterious plan. He wants you to enjoy collecting all the cars, but without repeating any of the dozen events he's included so far, without earning any money from doing them, and without bothering to qualify for races (because you're going to get beaten by a Mazda Atenza anyway).

Good to see that they've planned things well and haven't just been dicking around at PDHQ for the past five years.

The way ( and the fact itself ) Takuma Miyazono grins ( Don't take this amiss, mate :D ) telling you to watch the demo when you've just lost your Porsche 917K again.

The AI that doesn't know evasive driving techniques. A few times on grid starts I'll get a good launch, just for one of the AI cars to cut across and pit-maneuver me. What follows shows how bad the AI can be, as any car that is driving towards me will just plow straight into my car. No braking, no attempt to evade. Just full throttle ahead.

Blue flags are just for show. If you've ever lapped anyone you'll know the game will show the blue flags, indicating to back-markers that they must pull aside and let you pass, however AI cars continue to follow the racing line which often results in them blocking you.

The Tsukuba 30 lap mission race pays 10k credits while the 10 second drag race next to it pays 40k. This has to be trolling from PD. Has to be.

I hate stupid placements of Collision Volumes on tracks.
On Daytona road, if you take a sharper inside line under braking you may find yourself hitting a wall where the pit exit is for the oval.

I love that GT7 has all the factory paints listed in GT Auto by manufacturer when browsing purchasable paints. But it's annoying that you cannot preview it on the vehicle you brought into the GT Auto shop, only the A90 Supra, Delta Intergrale, and Beetle. I love nerding out on factory paint colors, but not being able to see what they'd look like on the car you'd like to purchase them for is irritating.

Another thing is wanting to see what the other paint options are for a pre-2001 car that is not shown in Brand Central and can only be found through the used car rotation. Seeing cars pop up that I always wanted in a color I don't care for is fine, but I'd like to know what the name and look of the other paints are for the vehicle when new. I know I'm spoiled by GT Sport having all the cars available in Brand Central, but I'd like to repaint my used car with an original paint without having to search online.

Finally, applying the paint to the car through the livery editor is okay... However, the fact that some parts have to be repainted after applying the new coat is frustrating. Got the Renault Sport Clio in black, but I wanted it in Liquid Blue. Painted it as such, but had to repaint the "Other" bits silver again, but that includes the shark fin antenna that also became silver. It is supposed to be black and separate from the lower valances, but it's painted together with them. I know I can "just" apply a black decal to the antenna, but it's more effort than needed. I'm not a pro at making liveries at all, I just want to repaint prize/used cars to other factory colors.

People that are adamantly against tuning because they “dont have time” meanwhile they will grind the same race over and over without playing with the setup.

Also certain players who refuse to race online but also complain that PD is stuck in their old ways. Take a look in the mirror.

I don't have a clue why they do this, it's really stupid.

When you taking pictures of a moving car and the driver is wearing racing helmet and suit.

I love if we could get some generic looking persons and wearing normal clothes

Long races suck, You may have 45 mi'n to spend on one race, but most of us want to do a few races in the ttime span . That's my main complaint with Sport and 7, the harder the races get teh longer they get. I get 15 laps of a small track, but i remember they had a kyoto driving park combo race that was 5 laps .. WAY too long. This makes the races awful when you beat the AI and are preety much doing the obligatory 2 alone laps

Tonnes tbh.

  • The fact that it seems like the gap between wheel users inherent time advantage had increased over controller users compared to GTS
  • GT auto backing out to home screen
  • Online custom lobbies having absolutely no customisation, or even basic kick features or host migration features once the lobby is started
  • Music Rally's existence (It's garbage)
  • The fact that FIA doesn't let you see how many points are up for grabs at the beginning of races anymore
  • Polyphony hiding more of their stats making it impossible for Kudosprime to give us stat tracking
  • having to create a livery just to black out my wheels
  • Not being able to turn safety car lights on and off when I want, wtf.

having to create a livery just to black out my wheels
Yeah this is really annoying. You should be able to recolour the body and wheels without having to create a "livery" like GT5 and GT6. It's one of those lazy design decisions that I find baffling and irritating. Oh, you want to change the colour of the wheels? Sorry, we're going to make it more difficult then it needs to be.

For some odd reason my replays aren't saving, anyone else having the same issue?

(PS4 Pro)

I wanted to save my license tests, there was no "Save Replay" option or at the least I could not find it

The menu system is terrible. So many clicks to do the simplest of things. Confirmation clicks for tiny things. Massive waiting times for just switching screens in menus.
For instance, changing cars when tuning, buying tires when racing, having to go into another menu screen to buy wide body when applying liveries, even though it is in the same section.
Used cars with 80,000 kms on them costing almost the same as a brand new car. Used cars being in prime condition (?) even if they have 80,000 kms on them? Weird.
The music choices are mostly terrible. And so much of it just ported over from GTS.

I had lots more, but I guess that's enough from me.

Save the stock car's style and hit preview from your items within the presentation area, you can then cycle through all original paints.

Music rally being limited by length of the song. The song should be looped, ending when I have 40+ beats left 10metres from the next gate is dumb.

Poor menu design choices - GT Auto backing out completely being one.

The need to create liveries for paint and wheel colour.

Slow turn over of UCD/LCD. Don't care about car costs, I will get what I want by any means necessary but in previous GTs I could at least force the UCD to change.

Chase the rabbit. Very few grid starts and no qualification especially in championships.

The On-Rails scripted AI. Its always been this way, Sophy is coming. Its been 25 years.

Cafe menus while quirky and unique felt too linear, forced and short.

Can't save custom race settings. Having to create a fresh new race everytime is tiresome. Add to that I can only dream of creating my own multi-race championship or 22 race "season".

Don't do online or lobbies, loathe to try at this point for fear of further annoyance.

Edit: I just passed 300 cars, going into collection tab prompted a visit from Sarah, who was very encouraging that I should keep going to complete my collection. Go away Sarah.

I just love hearing Night Birds immediately dissolve into a techno remix of Claire de Lune which then turns into Casino drive, all in the span of 15 seconds because I decided to go from GT Auto to the main menu and to my garage. I didn't want to listen to GT7's carefully curated music section anyways.

I'm starting to get some massive frame rate drops and it's in dry conditions. It happens at the worst times too. One of them was out of the short tunnel at trial mountain as the car got squirrelly and I was trying to pass.

  • Decal/shape rendering bug in livery editor. It can be fixed by reselecting the layer with the buggy decal and re-rendering the corresponding decal, but each time this bug occurs, the "fixed version" must be saved as a new livery.
Also, it is worse if the bug occurs on a shared style, because it affects all players who have applied the style in the same way.
  • GT Auto menu design.
  • The large number of post-2001 models in UCD. The price difference between these models and new ones is small, and considering their condition, they are not models that we actively want to purchase. Would like to see more pre-2001 models for sale.
  • Unpaintable carbon body kit. If we want these body kits to be the same color as the bumpers and side skirts we have to give up using metallic or color shift paints.
  • There are few GT mode races that Korean cars can enter. Most events in Asia are limited to Japanese cars.

That is the point.
Try to get the goal before the end of the song.
Be smooth, slipstream, only brake when needed.
I've gotten gold in all of them since week 1.

That is not how the traditional "Arcade" racing titles of the past worked, upon which this mode is based.
Also, in the State of Play video the record distance is displayed as over 7500 miles... You can see it here:

Useful advice for anyone struggling but that is not my frustration.

It annoys me what Sony forced PD to change in gt7 which cause a fan outrage, PD should have left the credit system alone. Their risking losing their fans of GT.

I am annoyed at the fact that I have no idea what my actual DR and OR levels numerical values are. In GTS I always knew how close I was to the different levels. Now it is just the alphabetical levels.
