we had more than 46 last year, it was the start of December yesterday, and right now, (1:45pm) it's so cold, only 22:nervous:

^Pfft. Crybaby. Where I am, it's brilliant sunshine outside, and about 35 degrees (that's about 2 degrees Celcius). Perfect December day!

well, i haven't checked the forecast, but it's 16 outside now (7:44am) and i'm in a jumper and pants today

Yay! :) I can finally wear shorts and short-sleeves again.

LoL, I can't

The middle of the week was better. Wearing shorts, biking on ice at 8:00 in the morning. It was what, upper 20's F? Not bad.

You guys should try it. Burning out & sliding is quite fun on a bike.

well, it was freezing this morning (18C) but it's turned out quite nice, 27C:) a little bit cold, but it's nice:)

edit:

2 Celcius?:ill: i can't imagine anything below 5:scared:

Then you need to travel somewhere that actually has a winter. I think Sage does, too. A La Jolla winter consists of putting on long pants at night, when the temperature drops into the frigid 60s.

We probably won't see 70 (that's 20 C) until May. Jackets are quite popular here.

Hey hey, look back up at that widget I posted – we have been hitting the 30s at night. ;)

As for needing to experience “real” winters, my great-grandparents lived in the Dakotas, said Screw this, and moved to southern California. See, intelligence runs in the family. :D

it's cold enough here at Winter, anyway a maximum of 27 i think, i haven't checked the news yet

I'm not trying to cause a stir here, but I just can't see the point in the Fahrenhiet scale. I mean, it makes much more sense to say 0 degrees is cold, than 32* F.
I know I know, I live in Australia and am therefore used to the Celsius scale, but still.

Anyway, we had a super boring storm today, couple of distant lightning strikes, enough rain to just settle the dust. Boring.

Queensland gets heaps of rain, we've had 120 or something mm for the whole year

about the Farenheit scale, i'm not sure why 0C isn't 0F, that would mean 30C would be about 50F roughly

We finally got decent snowfall on Friday. Predictably, everyone started driving as if they'd crap their pants if they went faster than 20mph, and there were accidents galore -- I even heard several people refer to it as a "severe snowstorm," and 3 of my classmates were positively appalled when another classmate announced that she had driven in to school from her home several miles out of town. I'm no good at estimating the measured amount of snowfall, but it couldn't have been more than three inches. I'm just glad that people come to their senses after the first few snowy days.

We haven't gotten any more snow yet, but it is currently a nice, cool 13°F (-11°C) outside, and tommorrow night it's supposed to fall to 5°F (-15°C).

I'm not trying to cause a stir here, but I just can't see the point in the Fahrenhiet scale. I mean, it makes much more sense to say 0 degrees is cold, than 32* F.

I don't see any point in the Fahrenheit scale either, but it's what I'm used to, so it's hard to get away from it.

nice, cool -11C? man, i say nice, cool 20C

it's going to be cooler tomorrow i think, it's 20C now, not bad, a bit cool, but it's 8:53pm, nice night

12°C, still too warm for november. A little bit windy, no sun at the moment but dry.

Both Celcius and Fahrenheit were defined long ago against arbitrary reference points. Saying that one is "better" than the other is like saying that an apple is better than a dog. From a scientific standpoint, neither scale makes any sense, as a "negative" temperature has no physical meaning whatsoever. We could switch to the absolute scales (Kelvin and Rankine), but people would surely be uncomfortable if the weatherman started to say that it will be 300 degrees tomorrow. Al Gore would also have a field day.

...It has been snowing all day here, on-top of what we received on Friday (as posted above). After leaving work this evening, there was about an inch and a half on my car, although it was very light and fluffy snow. The good news is that it is really cold, and that means ice... Here in Michigan that separates the men from the boys, and that was evident on the way home.

Of course I did the standard "drifting" on the way home in the parking lot at work, and I managed to lose control of my car in a low-speed drive. It was quite funny actually, I guess I just wasn't paying attention. Anyway, on the way home nobody was going over 35 MPH unless they were insane. A Chrysler Voyager that blew by me at nearly 60 MPH managed to go off the road, off small embankment (funny enough, just before the guardrail started), hit a tree, and roll the van completely over.

...Quite a few people stopped to help. I slowed down, but even when traveling at less than 30 MPH my car locked-up all the tires and I slid quite a few feet, even when traveling uphill. Further down the road I noticed tire tracks going around in circles just before the road my house was on. Turns out, it was my brother, after he lost control in his Nissan. Thankfully a guy in a truck helped him out, but he still beat me home.

Overall, the Volkswagen has done well. They are still calling for ice warnings over the next few days, so the kids in the local schools may be getting a few more days off in the near-future...

I was woke up at 4am by some seriousely strong winds and very heavy rain, that's very-heavy-even-for-Manchester rain. It has been dry for most of the day though, but it's very cold. My little 306 doesn't like the cold, but I don't think diesels do in general.

it was only 28 today, only 20 in the morning, wouldn't want to go swimming at school in much colder than that:scared:

it was very nice today, 37C, beautiful Summer day:)

:(

We had our first snow here of the year (Finally!) Nothing major though, just a dusting. Usually by now we have somewhere between 3-10in. Also, it was unbeleively cold and windy. I made the stupid decison of going out at 7pm for my break with no jacket ><

Farenheight is a system generated from the body. It's simple: 100º F is body temperature. 32º is the point at which ice freezes or water melts. They messed up a little because body temp is more like 98.6ºF. Either it was a mistake or our bodies are getting colder to adapt to a cooler, northernmore climate.

we're not getting cooler climate, so it must be a mistake

the current temperature is 37 i meant (4pm) so the maximum may have been a bit warmer

The snow is damn melting, and the rain is turning it into ice and slush. I've slipped infinite times on the way and from school already.

Now the temperatures are hovering above 0C./

-10 I think here in Guelph Ontario, there was snow on the ground which started to melt mid day which has now turned into ice.
