We have real nasty depressive weather. Dark, no sun, rain, wind but it isn't cold (normally we have a little snow around this time of year)

Was hideous here this morning - dark, pouring rain, blowing a gale - a bit like Shetland in July... but strangely, just as I got into work, it all cleared up... the sun even came out and the wind dropped completely.... seems it was just a break in the cloud though, since the skies over the City (central London) are ominously dark, and it's coming this way :nervous: Just heard some thunder, and the forecast is for a big storm... let's just hope we don't get flooded again... :ill:

The sky is dark grey with a slightly brown tinge - classic thunder clouds... some folk hate this sort of weather, but I love it... must be my Scottish genes :P

okay, brits can have their ugly weather back. I'll rather have -35'C and 4ft of snow and ice instead of rain rain rain rain rain rain rain rain rain.. you get the point, don't you?

Well, it is 7:50 AM here and it is 35 F. That is the high for today. It is going to get colder and snow. By the time I head home at 3:30 PM it should be about 25 F.

It's chilly at night, but warm in the day. Typical Fall/Winter weather in SoCal. Blankets at night, short pants during the afternoon.

50F outside right now, we are supposed to have a hard freeze (18F!) tonight.

Question: How do you write the little degree sign?

From,
Chris.
Man I love teh ForecastFox

Yep quite warm in South Australia indeed, I hope the weather man is wrong for tommorrow though, mid twentys will do fine. :)

Yup I'm up in the 40s at my place too. What's worse is because of the massive bushfires, the whole state has been blanketed in smoke and it's like a sauna.

At the moment it's probably one of, if not the, biggest bushfire in my lifetime. With 40C today and tomorrow, it's the pretty high chance that the main bushfires will merge and create a 100km wide firefront.

Officials have warned residents in Victoria state's northeast to stay alert should the fires spread and merge, possibly creating a super blaze covering more than 1.4 million acres....

...
Some 2,000 firefighters supported by 30 aircraft, 350 water tankers and 88 bulldozers, have been battling to contain around 18 blazes burning through state forests and Australia's iconic Snowy Mountains, according to Victoria's Country Fire Authority and local media reports.

It's about 70km from my place, so not close enough to worry yet, but if it does, hopefully I can grab you guys some awesome pictures.

Edit: Speaking of awesome pictures. This is a picture of the smoke around shown by a NASA satelite.

vert.bushfire.jpg

From the top of the smoke to the bottom I estimate to be a good 1000km long.

well, the Victorian and Melbourne bushfires are dominating the news here, the smoke hasn't been down our way yet

Pretty cold here, but is constantly above freezing. The snow is rapidly melting away.
You still have snow?. That storm was sooooo last week.

I don't really need to describe the weather outside right now. This is why people think Seattle sucks:

Seattle + December = 45 degrees + rain.

The sun is trying to poke through right now, but will probably give up in a short while.

Yeah, we still do. Only in spots though.

Hmm, 200 miles down south, the sun is trying to poke out. Its completely covered with clouds here.

well, it's very cloudy, but quite warm today, i think the predicted temperature is 37 or something, very nice day:), you should see the pretty yellow clouds out in the east this morning:)

Got you Adelaide boys whipped today.

It's just getting ridiculous here...I'm further out from the bay, so I don't get the breeze from the water like the city does. It's at least mid 40s at my house.

i didn't get to check what it was today, i think it was only in the low 30's, not that warm, cloud cover all day, a few drops of rain

Thats just our Saturday weather that has drifted to Melbourne, I was quite busy Saturday and every temp sign I saw had 42+ degrees on it, lucky I was in mostly in air con. :)

After about a week of below-freezing temperatures, it rose to ~30F yesterday, and ~40F today. It felt downright warm outside. I still hope it'll snow again soon.

OMG how rubbish was the weather in the midlands today!!! Rainy, Windy, Dull and generally British! Its been like this all week.... BUT atleast this has been, so far a very mild winter.....hopefully it will stay that way.

Our version of a hurricane:

With 2 inches of rain earler today, many trees are about to meet their demise :scared:

Our version of a hurricane

Yeah, the power it threatening to go out. We just had a second or two power outage, nothing bad. Hopefully it will go out for good tonight.:dunce: Driving is a little interesting. Puddles go across all of the roads. 60 mph gusts, 40 mph winds. Good times.

Similar for us on The Island... (Yeah... that big Canadian island in Kylehnat's picture)
It's rained spectacularly hard for most of the day here, although it stopped for a little while in the evening. Supposed to resume here shortly, and we're supposed to have wind gusting to over 100 KM/H (60MPH+), lasting through tomorrow morning. I don't think it's started quite yet, though. It's not far above freezing, which could mean some snow (Yaaay! I love snow!).

Any snow you might get will be blown into the Yukon before it hits the ground :).

Listening to the wind outside, I begin to wonder how much my south-facing windows can take... It's becoming quite violent out there.

Our SoCal weather lately has been more boring than church. Same weather every day since two weeks, now (though, it did rain on Saturday and will rain again this Saturday). High 40's to Low 50's for a low, and Low-mid to Mid 70's for our high. Shorts and a t-shirt during the day, and a blanket at night. No heater, no AC. Perfect. Boring, but perfect.
