COLD! Low 50's high 40's today. Dark, rain clouds covering the entire sky. So dark, cold and drizzly. Still, no rain, though. Days like that suck. If it's going to be this cold and wet, at least let us have some decent rainfall!

Went from sunning it on a beach to freezing in the mountains in a matter of days. Stupid non-tropical climates. :grumpy:

Villages in Somerset evacuated at 2am

Royal Marines are helping residents in a Somerset village to flee their homes after flood defences broke and water levels rose by a metre in areas.

Around 30 households in Moorland refused to leave initially, but most have now heeded the advice of officials and are evacuating as the water continues to rise after another night of heavy rain.

Residents have been evacuated from many other parts of the Levels, including North Moor, Fordgate and Salt Moor.

A police helicopter flew over the village overnight, urging people to leave.

Watch the video for an angry resident talking about how she'd like to kill members of parliament.

And here are some obligatory dramatic flood photos:

My old street submerged this week (bonus stranded Avensis)

And today's route to work was closed as workers began erecting the flood barriers again just days after they were dismantled.

That said, this Friday was the clearest day in weeks. Winds picking up again tonight though with storms expected tomorrow.

Not enough rain for us from the 'big rain storm' that blew threw here the last few days. It drizzled lightly for about an hour, but not enough to make a difference. So, our drought continues while other parts of the world drown.

Cold, too. Low 50's today. Mostly cloudy, gray skies. Meh. Hate this weather if it's not going to rain.

Cold and sunny today. I'm just glad that the snow and freezing rain has stopped for a few days.

Rain, a lot of wind and a lot of clouds. No sunshine. :grumpy:

Not too cold though and that is a positive thing. 👍

It's a bright sunny day, the temperature is at 15ºC/59ºF and just a few clouds in the sky. Best day in months. I'm totally going for a walk today. 👍

Edit: This is my new source of info about weather.

Great weekend which I wasn't expecting - winding but good. Both Saturday and particularly Sunday were bright and sunny with (almost) clear blue skies. Timing of the rain last night was perfect as it's the same again today - top temps around 11°c (52°f), but the sun makes all the difference. Haven't had a winter this mild since 2009!

I live in South Texas, and I have a La Crosse wireless forecast station in my home office. This winter has been considerably
colder than the past few winters down here, but I noticed something interesting in the ambient outdoor temperature over the
past four days. These temperature observations were made at 6:15 am on each of these days:

Friday..... February 7 : 30°F
Saturday. February 8 : 40°F
Sunday... February 9 : 50°F
Monday. February 10 : 60°F

All good things come to an end though, as it is supposed to be about 43°F tomorrow morning.

Another 1-2 inches of snow last night. But we will hit 50F degrees by the weekend. About time. I'm tired of being physically limited to my outside time.

It has just been relentless this year by the lakeshore in Michigan. I feel bad for the weatherman. I haven't seen him / her with a proper prediction in weeks. Over the weekend we were estimated to get about 1-2" We ended up with 6-8". And its STILL snowing! :dunce:

When this starts melting within the next month, we will have massive flooding problems for sure.

Cloudy in the morning. Ended with clear skies, but a bit overcast. Low 70's. Low 80's expected in two days. Looks like our chance to get rain is over.
