Just because I'm still not able to get to sleep, here's the current UK lightning map. I feel sorry for people in the East of London

We had it big in Wiltshire, the storm passed straight over me. I stayed up till 1 am watching the flashes out my window, never seen anything quite like it, lit up the whole sky like broad daylight! A lightning bolt struck a few hundred meters from my house and left a blob in my vision for about 10 minutes.

This was taken about 3 miles from me at 1 AM:

25°C here currently. Too much for my liking... I'm still worried about the weekend bringing 28°C, though.

I saw one flash around 3:15 this morning and the rain that came afterwards wasn't very heavy, so we missed the worst of it.

Tonight looks set to be a different story. I haven't seen storm warnings like this since a trip to Maaseik in 2004. Torrential rain turned our wooded campsite into a swamp in less than 2 hours.

The thunder woke me up at about half past midnight, I looked outside and it was like a disco, flash after flash after flash. But I had to be up at 5am so I wasn't that impressed at the time.

I don't have to be up early tomorrow so hopefully we have more of the same tonight and I can actually enjoy it :D

June Gloom in mid-late July. OK. Had July heat in June, so...

Mid-low 80's the last few days, but increasing over the next few days. High temps of low 100's coming soon, they say.

Is this possible in yurop?

Yes, especially down south. Deserted, far from the coastline, areas of Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece are likely to srike even more than 44ºC due to Sahara Desert winds, mainly Scirocco when he has his bearings wrong.

Fourtunatly live near-ish to the sea (25km) and the toastiest I remember was 47ºC

It's gon' rain.

I'm not looking forward to the tornado(s), 60mph straight line winds and 5,500 lighting strikes in 15 minutes for this cell, either. :scared:

I'll just state the obvious- keep a close eye on the radar and pay attention to weather alerts. A town that's about a 20 minute drive from my hometown got hit by a tornado in a night storm, and the aftermath made most people here in Southeast Michigan actually fear and respect tornado warnings for the first time in ages.

In the meantime, it's 72 degrees F here with an Ozone action alert. The Ozone alert is already going to continue into tomorrow so tomorrow will be another bad day for asthmatics like me.

Alrighty... Portugal... Yesterday was very dark clouds and raining... And now i´m melting in the middle of the night on my yard...

Meanwhile, temps here are around 16-27°C, foggy mornings and sunny afternoons

Quite normal for summer here
If you mean with 'yurop', Europe, then yes. I it is absolutely possible in Europe in the more Northern regions of Europe. We have these temperatures every year in Belgium. It only lasts for a couple of weeks but it is still possible.
Impossible to have a good night sleep during those heat waves.

Cloudy today temp 47°F, looks like it'll clear up a bit tomorrow and Friday
I should summer in Alaska and winter in Florida. Kentucky is no place for me with summer heat and humidity and freezing winters.

Weather today is uncomfortable here in center Portugal (coast). Not very hot (25°C), but more humid than usual. :yuck:

The National Weather Service just issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Southeast Michigan until 9 PM. Time for us to play the game of "guess if we will actually get severe weather or not". As long as it doesn't happen tomorrow, I'll be happy.

The northern half of Michigan is being hit with some low-topped supercells with both severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings being issued. I saw one of the most impressive shelf clouds that I have seen a long time pass over me as of 20 minutes before this post. (17:45 UTC 27-JUL-2014).
