Giving the DP-100 the morning workout it needs.

I take this is without wall riding? I was wondering what the top potential for DP100 for clean driving was, since I've been fine tuning my S1 Pikes Peak setup further. Last weekend got it down to 25:20 and I'm pretty sure that this and DP100 are the two fastest 'real driving' cars for Tokyo at the moment. Can't get the engine swap Focus or swapped R33/R34 below 25:50ish it seems.

my 1st try with R33 is 25:47 and 25:55 for R34. will try to fine tune or drive differently and see if it'll improve.

I have a treat for you guys, lol. For Tokyo rain 600 event use the 91’ cappuccino with the rotary swap. It’s almost 600hp and only 1500 lbs. one or two stops for tires and fuel only once. On the straights it will hit 220+mph like nothing. And it’s only 544pp. Enjoy!!

I got the R92CP swapped R32 GT-R down to 25:46. With my current personal best lap, I could get into the high 25:30s in theory. But I don't see that happening unless I break a skill ceiling and/or find a tuning breakthrough. The R32 is the underdog of monster R92CP swapped GT-Rs.

IMO, the R33 has more potential because it has a lower weight after full weight reductions, and the PP system lets it get away with more power. The swapped Focus feels better to drive out of the box and has a 6 speed box if I recall. Haven't tested the R34, but I imagine that'd be very strong too.

R32 Victory - Beauty Shot.jpg

SETUP
Widebody
Wide wheels
Front Aero + Wing
NO rear splitter / diffuser (this costs too much PP)
Ultimate Weight reduction

NOTE: The roll cage from GT Auto drops PP slightly.

I started with a light-weight, high-downforce build, but the R32 struggled on the straights, barely topping out at 188~194 mph (302-312kmh). You need over 500hp if you want to gain 1st place by the end of lap 1 and are pushing to get below 26 minute runs. For having nearly 100 kilos in the nose, this car handles way better than it has any right too.

The lack of downforce in the front didn't have any noticeable affect on high speed cornering versus my earlier high downforce tune.

2nd gear is kinda tall because I prefer to stomp the throttle when I see the exit of the final hairpin.

I ran the engine swapped Toyota '86 Limited last night. Pretty good car in the handling department. Hits over 200 on the straight, but it's brakes are its weak point. Unfortunately, a number of these engine swap cars can't adjust PP levels very well so adding a set of racing brakes is hard to adjust for. The hairpin is tough to set up for and get out of due to this. I tried pushing it one lap and crossed the white line. Good bye CRB. Still, the car can run 2:07's without wall riding.

Yup, I haven't ran it myself but this video was posted last month: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...our-setups-tips-and-cars.408979/post-14032502 Looks like a handful

I used the tune from the video, but left the supercharger stock and used FM6 + shortshifting to make a no-stopper. First try last weekend got me a 26min run. Nice change from my regulars, but not amazingly fast for a glitch build.

So is the engine swapped Cappuccino the only car we have even a slight chance of trying to get a sub 2 minute lap without wall riding?

My tune with the 86 Limited with engine swap is pretty conservative at only 500hp, so just over 190mph on the straight. I guess I need to add more power

My best lap in the Honda Beat was 1:55.540. I needed racing tires to do it though.

I imagine the Escudo could break the 2 min lap barrier cleanly, but never tried that one.

FORD MUSTANG BOSS - Maestro Priano's God Car Lives

Priano God Mustang - Beauty Shot.jpg

This is Maestro @praiano63 's Mustang Boss build. It predates update 1.31, I believe. It was monstrously quick everywhere back then, but drank fuel and ate tires. That didn't matter because it was more than fast enough to make up for its appetite.

Praiano's Mustang Boss Original Build

Not only that, it felt amazing. Great stopping power, tons of grip at slow and ultra high speeds. Lots of front-end bite and aggression when you ask, but neutral and safe when you push. It truly was a tuning masterpiece. I had feared that updates would break the car - I was dreading getting in the car to find the PP above 600 with no way to get it back.

But this 600pp monster still lives...

Best Time: 25:36.918
Best Lap: 2:01.782

The run was done on Gallo's /the NSX's 2 stop strategy, pitting on lap 5 and lap 9 for fuel and tires.

Praiano's Mustang Boss is still very, VERY fast, and it's remarkably accessible. It out-accelerated everything and had me ahead of the most annoying opponents (white Porsche and green AMG) before turn 1 at Tokyo.

I only had to reduce the rear aero slightly to get it back to 600pp. Otherwise the build is the same.

GEARING
Note:
This was originally set up with the "transmission flip" to get a special set of gear ratios. Refer to here to set gears if you're having trouble.

"For the gears , you have to perform the [transmission trick]:
Final gear to max value full right
Top speed (Auto) minimum full left
Set each gear ratio
Set final gear the way you want to reach the desired top speed."

I decided to give this a shot and it really reminds me of driving the AMG Black when it was a glitch build. Massive speed can be carried around turns 3 and 4. 150+mph. There really is no good reason a car from 1969 with thin tires (relatively speaking) should handle this well.

I was able to run a 25:50 with a fastest lap of 2:02.035. My tune was able to squeeze out 663 hp by adding bore up and port & polish and carbon drive shaft to your tune. They didn't add any pp to my tune. I also was able to increase the aero to 194 front and 288 rear. Not sure if this helped or hurt as I was a few mph slower on the straight but seemed to be faster in the high speed turns.

Edit: I don't believe I have the wide body on my car. This may be why I can add a couple additional engine items to the car and bump up the hp.

Anyway, it's a pretty badass ride.

Thats an impressive lap time,i was chuffed to bits i managed a 2.08.444.:lol:I managed a one stopper by changing to FM6 for 5 laps and pitting for fresh RM end of lap 7.It sometimes seems I get to a point when I just seem to make mistake after mistake and just get slower,I then have to pack up and have a go another day.

Rear diffuser needed to be installed. No widebody.

I pit at Lap 7 only to change tires. If only the tire wear isn't excruciating, it would be a no-stop run.
How can we contact support to address the tire wear setting 25X, before the update it was 12X and I could tune several different cars to beat the race. This new tire wear setting takes all of your traction in one lap and it does not matter what car I have sadly been unable to beat the race since the 25X stting

There are several cars that have been posted since the tire ware update that have cars that never even need to pit and easily win the race on hard difficulty. Go back 10 or 20 pages and take a look at what people are using. There are probable 50+ cars that you could choose from.

The devs won't listen. If you're using racing tires, then you can no longer use Intermediates. You must stay with the Racing Tires from the start and drive carefully on the "dry" racing line for the the first 4~5 laps (think of license S-10 in the Porsche 917). Or you must modify your builds to run Sports Tires.

As mentioned, there are plenty of sports tire builds in this thread that handle well and are very fast.

If you are fine with a manual transmission to short shift (shift up at 6500 ~ 7000 rpm), the Aston Martin DP-100 is a great starting point. It's a no-stop car that sets blisteringly quick lap times on Sports Hard tires. If the tire wear bugs you, it's still fast enough as a 1 stop car.

Aston Martin DP-100 Tune

It's too bad we have to throw the ridiculous front splitter and a modern rear wing on the car. It looks so much better with the factory splitter and the small rear spoiler.

Yeah, the power mods and extra aero put my build at ~601PP and I couldn't do much to get it back below that. No biggie. New engine. I bought 3 more Mustangs for more testing.

The standard body build felt more aggressive, loose and willing to turn in for the high speed corners. But the tire wear was much worse with my driving. On Sports Softs I needed to do a 3 stop run. I struggled with tire life even when I fit Racing Hards.

I posted my fastest Mustang lap on Sports Tires with your build: 2:00.3x. And on Racing Hards, I broke the 2 minute barrier: 1:59.215.

I suspect GT7 factors tires size and width into tire wear calculations. For instance, a widebody Veyron at around 2900lbs has superior tire wear compared to the much lighter Celica Rally Car - despite them both running at a freakishly similar pace on the same Sports Hards. The 300sl racecar on Racing Hards, despite also weighing far less than said Veyron, also has significantly worse tire wear.

Racing Hards on the widebody tune actually turned the Mustang Boss into a 1 stop car.

I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of this race (on Easy). I got the CRB 3x in a row! First was the Praiano tuned MP4-12C, then the swapped Focus RS, and finally my wide body McLaren F1 which was stock other than the Wheels, Aero, the ECU I turned down, and plenty of ballast. The MP4-12C only hit 180mph on the big straight but handled amazingly, the Focus hit 190 but the handling wasn’t great, and the F1 hit 201 and the handling was alright but the stock brakes didn’t like all the ballast, easy win though

Being inspired by the 429 I decided to give the Pontiac GTO "The Judge" a try at this race. Good handling car but waaaaayyyyy too much torque in this thing. It spins the tires through 4th gear with sport mediums on it. That said, it's not too bad on fuel because you tend to short shift ti avoid wheel spin over the little hills and bumps in the track. It is, unfortunately a 2 stop race. Once after lap 6 (probably should have pitted after lap 5) and one more after lap 10. The race is still exciting, though. Came out if the pits on to lap 11 chasing down Gallo and Kokubun. Passed Gallo on lap 11 and passed Kokubun through the chicane on lap 12.

Total race time of 27:26.007
Fastest lap of 2:09.848

I can't remember if I posted this before, but the GT-R Nismo '17 with a set of sport hard tires and a bit of ballast to get the pp to exactly 600 can win this race rather easily. It's a bit squirrely when trail braking on corner entry, so best to do 98% of your braking before turning the wheel. Other than that it has pretty good braking, can hit 202mph on the straight and has pretty good grip through the turns.

Race time: 27 min flat
Fastest lap: 2:09.218
