Not a bad car, but it really should be faster than this for weighing less than 2600 lbs and having 520+ hp. It's biggest downfall is its lack of traction when exiting turns, especially the hairpin. But it has pretty good brakes, the front end is pretty sure of itself and it is good on fuel and tires, so it's a 1 stop car.

I think an engine swap should be in this car's future from PD. Something like an LS swap or maybe a 2J? I don't know.

On to the tune:
Widebody, 19" wide/wide wheels of your choice, Type B Aero front and Side, Custom high wing

You can make them run fine, but in my opinion they all suffer from having too much downforce resulting in a lack of speed on the straight.
I am asking because currently i am buying every Gr.3 car and drive them at the Sardegna grind race tracking there performance (results will be in the forum). I am thinking of doing the same with Gr.4 cars at Tokyo (maybe not on hard difficulty so that most if them could get a win?).

Edit: i guess FF Gr.4 cars would be a real problem due to fast tire degredation.

Yes, the general consensus is you can use virtually any of them. You can search the thread but I will say out of the handful I tried the 458 Gr4 was the most fun to drive. Below is a link to the first run I did with it.

The main advantage to them is you can no stop the race which counter acts the higher lap times.

Genesis G70 Gr.4 is one of the easiest cars overall to win Tokyo with. Takes very little tuning, is extremely stable and very flexible for race strategy.

Jaguar XJ13 hasn't been done in quite some time in this thread. Just like the 330 P4 it's pretty easy with minimal tuning; this was stock suspension and stock transmission. With better practice and consistency I probably could manage 2:08s consistently, maybe even lower if suspension tuning is done. One pit stop for half a tank.

I have a treat for you guys, lol. For Tokyo rain 600 event use the 91’ cappuccino with the rotary swap. It’s almost 600hp and only 1500 lbs. one or two stops for tires and fuel only once. On the straights it will hit 220+mph like nothing. And it’s only 544pp. Enjo
Do you mind sharing your current tune for the Cappuccino?

Bought a second Boss 429 just so I could make a widebody version of the car and try it out here at Tokyo. It's still a beast but an even faster beast.

One pit stop after lap 6. Lap 12 is on red tires but still managed a low 2:05 lap, so not worth it to pit just for tires. This car dominates everywhere on this track. Feel free to pass the AI on the outside, the inside, on the brakes or on the gas. It really doesn't matter.

Wide Body, 17" wide/wide wheels, Type B front, Type A rear, and custom low wing for aero.

This is a pretty good handling car, but I know my suspension could be set up just a bit better to get a bit more stability out of the turns. The car is only 1800 lbs and has 440hp, so I'm surprised it's keeping its back end anywhere remotely behind its nose, but even then I think it could be better if others want to give it a try. This car isn't quite as fun as the old Porsche 904, but it's close.

Had I been more fuel conscious from the beginning I could have probably done this race as a no stop, but I ran FM1 for the first 5 laps and began going to FM4 for everywhere but the straight after that. Lap times didn't seem to suffer, so I probably could have gone 10 seconds faster on my race time with the no stop. With my mild fuel saving I squeeked out a couple more laps, but had to pit after lap 10. Tires made it the whole time and still had pretty good grip despite being at the end of their life. Fastest lap was lap 12 probably because I has very little fuel.

Here's the tune:
Widebody, 16" wide/wide wheels, Type B front, medium custom wing

This car is a real joy to drive. Tons of grip through the fast turns with just enough of a controlled slide on the way out. I would love if this car were faster, but with the current tune it only requires one pit stop for fuel. Tires last the whole time. The glitch build for this car was a monster, but this non-glitch works really well.

Widebody, 18" wide/wide wheels, Type A aero all around and a custom park bench for the wing.

This is an adequate car. It's better than the Maseratti Gran Tourismo S but not as much fun as the F&F Supra. Good high speed grip with some oversteer potential on the exits, so easy on the gas when you are sliding through turns 8, 9 and 11. It's brakes aren't awesome, but for only having racing pads installed you can still out brake most of the AI. I'm convinced that Gallo is using some voodoo magic to brake so deep in to the turns so don't try to take him in to turn 1 or the hairpin.

Tune: widebody, front and side aero, high rear wing, 19" wide/wide wheels

Citroën GT Gr.4 is the first Gr.4 car I've tried that didn't make it on a full tank. Top end is lacking on the straight (173mph steady up the hill past the pit, and about 180mph before braking) but it does grip nicely in the corners.

Another fun car to drive. Tons of grip, but not a ton of raw acceleration, so you got to keep the hammer down through the turns. Even on lap 1 you can go nearly 140 mph through turn 3 and 120 mph through turn 8. But like these last few cars I've posted you need to take a bit of caution on the high speed corner exits as the back end can try to come around on you. I had a couple moments that were completely my fault where the back started to come out more than I wanted, I corrected, but it was an over correction and the car tried highsiding me. Oh yeah, awesome brakes on this car as well.

Anyway, this little S2000 is fun. Don't bother with the Amuse version. That car sucks.

Viper Gr.4 with standard tune + supercharger was unremarkable as nothing really stood out to me except the increased tire wear compared to the other Gr.4 cars I've tried. I did this one cold turkey with no prep, and the last 6 laps I felt like I missed the line for each lap. Still a leisurely win.

This car is good, but the front end isn't very solid. It understeers into the turn and can oversteer on the way out. It's pretty easy to catch and adjust for the oversteer, unlike the S2000 (Torettos garage must be better at suspension tuning), but it always keeps you guessing if you hit the right brake marker and turn in point. If you didn't, you plow towards the barrier. Still better than the McLaren F1, but not quite as nice as I would have wanted. That said, it is pretty quick. Over 200 mph on the straight, moderately fast through the fast bends, decent brakes (no real engine braking with this car), it's easy on tires and fairly conservative on fuel. So far, it's the fastest of Team DT.

Here's the tune:
Widebody, 18" wide/wide, Type B/B/A aero and a medium custom wing

Great handling car. Super neutral through the turns with very high levels of grip like the S2000. Turn in is great, corner exit is great, brakes are great, acceleration is.... ehhh, okay. It's fairly low on power, so it reminds me a bit of that Miata challenge we were running a few months back but much less frustrating. That said, it took me about 10 tries to get through the first couple laps without the AI ramming in to the back of me on the brakes or somehow getting in to my way while I got 10-15 mph through the turns on them. So, be warned, this can be a frustrating race in the first couple laps. After you get out of traffic, the car is super fun to chuck around the turns.

Boy, it's been a long time since I've driven a FF car. Being able to stomp on the gas with no fear of spinning the back end out is liberating. Unfortunately, the amount of understeer that comes with it takes all the fun away. Overall, the car is fine. Its fast down the straight, it has pretty good speed through the fast bends. Turn in is good, but it would be nice if the back end came around just a touch more. Maybe some suspension tuning could fix that. It's brakes are rather spartan with this tune. It is a drag racing car,l afterall.

The cars biggest fault is that it eats front tires. Basically, all of lap 6 and 12 were with completely red front tires. I was down 5 seconds off my fastest lap on each of these laps. Would it be faster as a 2 stop race, maybe once after lap 4 and another after lap 8 just for a second set of tires? Maybe by a few seconds overall.

The tune:
Widebody, 17" wide/wide, Type B front, Type A rear (Type b rear saves you 8pp to add more power), Type B wing

Overall it's an okay car. For an engine swapped car its actually pretty good. A bit of understeer, however, and lazy corner entry with this car. A slow in, fast out approach works well and when you are actually turning it behaves itself and holds it line pretty true, even when sliding. Weakest aspect of this car is its poor high speed acceleration. It actually has good grunt below 100 mph, but the big back wing hampers it when you get above 150mph. So don't expect to pass many cars on the straight. You got to take them through the turns.

On to the Tune:
LS Engine swap, stock wheels, stock aero, roll cage A

Not sure i can do this anymore, think ive done it about 8 times in total over the last month maybe, utter soul destroying....😵👹👹👹
Eight times has been my normal Sunday. But I think I'm taking a break from this now. Almost have all the cars collected, so credits be damned. But I've used Tokyo so extensively as my tuning environment that whenever I want to get some valid comparison data, most likely still gonna give this a spin first.

Dude, I've shown 10 cars in the last 5 days that all win this race on Hard difficulty pretty easily. It's really not that hard of a race.
I have won, using the honda beat, 1st place by the first corner, i can`t do the torture of grinding for credits like that anymore....its poo....

I understand you grinding is not for everyone.

Myself I never get tried of grinding the same race in fact I done this race over 700 times since may 11 and yet I'm not one bit tired of it.

@imported_rik19 have you tried setting a limit like 2 races a day that can help you get used to it while allowing you to not grind to much.

Maybe you need to try a car that doesnt get you in first place by the first corner. Perhaps 12 laps of driving by yourself is boring to you. Maybe try "The Judge" for the race. You only win by 5 or so seconds. You at least are in the race with other cars for the majority of the time.
