I thought the Mazda Atenza Gr.3 Road Car would be a good laugh - it's in the same kind of spirit as a pre-tuned homolgation model, albeit a made-up one - but unless there's some settings wizardry I'm not aware of it just can't do the lap times.

Any hints on tweaking the Atenza into contention?
Hold my beer:

To be fair, this first run required some unsportsmanlike conduct for the win, so I'll post a more competitive tune soon.

Actually I wasn't sure if you preferred the Gr3 car, or the road version?

2.16s-2.20s per lap gets me a win with a pitstop for fuel on lap 8,if i need tyres its still a win just longer than 27mins race time.Im not fussed if the race takes me 29mins,a win is still a win,i not a chaser of lap times. 👍
i just did a race with one stop and 2:13 to 2:15 laps and was 10s in front. 2:16 to 2:20 with pitstop would never be enough for a win, not my races. maybe your AI is different lol

Check his laptimes and how he barely won. No way doing this with times from 2:16 to 2:20

I do it on easy, but im not going to argue with you over it.Each to there own. 👍

@Famine @05XR8

RX-Vison is a nice drive. Can't fit a wing to it but it has some (unadjustable) downforce. My setup a bit different to @05XR8 in that I've got less ballast, and more power, and use FM6 to make it a no stop race. Haven't upgraded or touched the suspension or gearing. Tyres are absolutely fine (but then, I would say that...)

True, the Suspension adds more PP. Weird, I would have the same finish time, if I calculated my stop correctly. My gap was in the 15 second range before making that second pit stop. Even though I top just over 300km/h, I think the suspension makes up the time through the esses. I’ll try without the suspension, more power and maybe coast more to try the no stop. I had about 1.1 laps when I pit on Lap 10. Might be stretching it a bit to try FM1, with more power.

@Famine I know you won't wanna use a Legend car, let alone one that's not the same age as the AI cars, but...consider this bad boy. Won the race with it in my very first attempt.

It does not need a fancy setup either. Just get all tuning parts, Sports hards and drop the power a bit with restrictor/computer, or by not putting in one of the smaller engine tunes. Fifth gear is also too short but it's not an issue, since you can increase the top speed with the customizable box. There's just one problem...see the picture above for a hint. :dopey:

I just tried the 4C Gr.3 Road Car. First stint of 6 laps on FM6 and its too slow. I was 32s behind at the pit stop on lap 8. Fuelled up and thought I had enough. I was chasing for 3rd when I noticed I had less than a lap left and 1.2 laps to go! FM6 and coasting, held on to 5th, just....

Yep, the road car. No race cars :yuck:

I did :D After all, anything that can blast GT Sport's Premier Sports Lounge at an N800 deficit is worth considering. But yes, I don't want to use things that incongruous (and old!). I know, I'm odd :D

This was earlier, its a somewhat`messy`race for me,a few mistakes along the way.I run SH and stop for fuel only, normally for me i can maintain 2.16-2.17s consistently but tonight was a disaster.lol.This R33 has more weight,so i can increase power, and runs on stock suspension, manual cust transmission with a widebody.
My other R33 runs on SM with a lot lower weight, however the trade off is less power to boot,i stop for both tyres and fuel with that one.I can do 2.15s most of the time, not record laps but they work for me.Like i said i race to grind on easy, come to think of it most of my races are on easy anyway.I think Tokyo is easier now as you dont have the worry of 5 sec penalties hanging over you, until maybe next update that it...............

Impressive, i think i never saw Gallo or Suswillo do more than 28min. And i've never won when i was above 28min. And I'm on easy too.

I have the AI set to easy, and 27:50 seems to be a typical sort of time for the fastest AI. I don't regard a car as decent for this race unless it's sub 27 minutes. Any car that can get under 26:30 with me driving it is unusually good.

So tonight I tried the Alfa 4C RC (posted earlier), then the Aston Martin Gr.4 which won easily on a one-stop, and then the DP-100 which won by absolutely miles on a no-stop and I had loads of fuel left at the end!

I'm going to try the R8 tomorrow night. Has anyone got a tune for that bad boy??

Ok, the Atenza Road Car struggles because:
1. It has very limited tuning options
2. It drinks more benzene than Zsa Zsa Gabor at a gender reveal party

Nevertheless it can win convincingly with a cunning plan (One-stop strategy)

The only significant tuning option is the choice of turbo. Whilst the High rpm Turbo is quicker it uses more fuel, which hurts twice as much when you're sitting in the pits. The Low rpm Turbo uses less fuel, but loses to Suswillo on the long straight. So a reasonable compromise is to use the Medium rpm Turbo.

Also remove the rear spoiler for a (slightly) higher top speed ;), and tune the suspension.

At the start of the race you can use IM tires on the back, which slightly improves your lap times, then pit at the end of lap 6 for fresh SH all round and an eternity of fuel.

Shift gears at 8,000 rpm (rather than 8,500) to save fuel and ensure a one-stop race.

Monitor fuel closely to ensure you make it to the end of lap 6 before pitting. If you're running low, dial back the Fuel Mix through the curves, or short shift earlier for a few laps.

@Habla2k , et al. For Auto gearbox, it might be better to use the High rpm Turbo and Fuel Mix on 2 or 3 as required.

Check Praiano63’s thread.

He has a really good Tokyo tune for the R8. One of the best non-glitchy cars for this race.

You know, i like to try the F40 on tokyo and when i saw you won, i thought, yea nice, so it can win. But then i remembered, that you're doing alien times on other cars i also tried and now i'm not so sure anymore. :D

The F40 video is gone btw.

I don't regard a car as decent for this race unless it's sub 27 minutes
i only had 1 or 2 non glitch cars that did <27 min, but then again, i'm not that good. :)

Likewise,as long as i cross the line first i dont care. My race i posted had Kokubun right up my chuff coming out of the hairpin,if the finish line was further away i would have come 2nd.The sub 27min race doesnt interest me in the least, apart from the Thawk and the alpine i cant do under 27mins,too many mistakes from me.👍

Also remove the rear spoiler for a (slightly) higher top speed ;),
The downforce at the back with the spoiler that comes on the car is 200. If you remove the spoiler, the downforce is still listed as 200 so it shouldn't make a difference.

EDIT: Is that with easy AI too? Your race time, and my AI race time are identical. (Note I didn't use inters at the start.)

Nice one, thanks! I just tried the R8 using Praiano's tune, and it worked a treat! No stop race on mostly FM5, had loads of fuel left for the last couple of laps so dialled it up a bit and let loose for a couple of 2:13 and 2:12 laps. Won comfortably by over 30s. 👌

I just wish it didn't have so much rake in the suspension!

EDIT: Oh, and I diverged from Praiano's tune by not fitting the wide body and opting for more power overall (I think it has 470hp versus 434hp). I wanted the extra pace on the long straights and it easily uses all of that power!

Yep, one of my favs there too. Very nice car style!
Thank you! It's a work in progress while I track down some more decals to run with the theme.

While I'm still on the Audi mission (grind with Audi to buy the remaining Audi's), are the TTS and 3.2 quattro any good for this event? I assume they aren't going to be anywhere near as mighty as the R8 with it's insane fuel efficiency and pace, but might still be capable of a good race here with the right tune?

Your diff settings got rid of the lift off oversteer on my F40 set up
how can you see the tune? video is not working for me.

@MidnightRun85
DP-100 really only works with manual shifting. you can do it with automatic, i did too, but it's no fun ride. i had to use FM1 on straight to reach higher gears and then FM6 on the rest, to save fuel. can't recommend with AT. :D
