E3 is less then a month away, so it does not even matter if they don't show the console. I hope they give more info on Xbox Live and the ability to play online without Xbox Live Gold. I would still buy live (I use programs like ESPN which need xbox live gold), and if I ever remember I will get PS+.

I would probably buy the next xbox if they said "you can play multiplayer games with a silver membership."

Is E3 going to really matter anymore?

.....

Let me try that again.

Is E3 going to be as big a platform anymore? (That's much better)

Sony had a stand-alone event for PS4, MS is having one for the new XBOX, and Polyphony had one for GT6 by itself. Add to that GDC, the PAX shows, and any other number of events, and I wonder how long the E3 sherade will last.

Have there been any links posted to the live event tomorrow?

At least Microsoft will have a live stream, that is Apple friendly. 1pm eastern: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hub/revea...x-g_us_Xbox+-+Brand+-+Mobile_Xbox_xbox_Phrase

Will it break just as easily as the 360 and most importantly will it play 2nd hand games.

It will still have paid online play, which makes it an autopass for me. If I don't play for 3 weeks paying for months like that makes no sense at all. Only thing I really mis that's a ms exclusive is the trials game series, particularly evolution.

I will be skipping the next gen Xbox this year. I don't like the idea that it requires a constant internet connection at all times. More importantly, if the next Xbox can't play pre-owned games, Microsoft have virtually already lost this generations "Console Wars". with the Wii U failing and the next Xbox potentially being a market failure, Sony could hold the market monopoly on the games console market. And even if Microsoft corrects both issues the next Xbox could face, they would need to invent new exclusives, and fast, then I may be interested in what they have to offer.

As far as I'm aware, neither of those features have been confirmed. As a matter of fact, the always online requirement is looking very unlikely.

"Xbox 720", "Playstation 4", those are real names, if they really intend to go the Nintendo way of naming stuff ("Infinite", "Durango" e t c) then i'll be sighing out loud and shaking my head.

McLaren involved with Xbox 720 announcement?

Perhaps Forza 5 will be shown......we'll see.👍

Well both PGR5 and Forza 5 seem to be coming. Mclaren aided them with tyre/handling physics back in FM3 I believe. The question is which will be a launch title and maybe it is more likely to assume PGR5 will be, maybe not.

However T10 usually take 2 years to develop a new Forza title so quite exciting.

If I had to pick one as a launch title it would be a new PGR rather than Forza.

PGR has been absent for a while and would be an ideal way to re-introduce the series, Forza however is getting to the point that it needs market share to justify a launch (as with GT).

This one is however trickier to call than GT6 being a PS3 title (that was always a no-brainer), as MS could well be willing to throw money at the shortfall in sales.

For me I would guess that we see PGR at launch and a new FM in 2014 (Oct/Nov).

Would like to see Kameo 2 since it was an exclusive 360 launch title. It would be guaranteed to have a full co-op campaign too. Fallout 4 would also be nice.

PGR would be perfect, especially if it would be set in the open world environment.

We also have to remember EA are at the event and they have money to throw around.
Their is a chance this Mclaren tweet could be sponser related (Mclaren are looking new sponsers) so is Microsoft or EA a possibility?

Oh god, just got a thought..
Need for Speed "Not Wanted" has the new Mclaren?

Fingers crossed for PGR5

I would not mind PGR5 at all. Especially with the stunning weather effects like PGR4. I guess we will see. Well maybe not until E3. I am sure they will show at least a couple games...I hope.

Don't forget the snowy Nurburgring. Absolutely fantastic. Loved that track.

Yup that's why I said stunning weather effects. :sly:
Imagine what they could do on the next xbox.
Ah, I thought you were on talking about the excellent rain weather/effects. Pardon me. Crossing my fingers for some PGR5 footage at the event.

Np. Just keep in mind todays even is only half of the show and the main focus today is the console. We will see a lot more about the games at E3. I do agree, hopefully they will show at least some game footage today.

Where do the PGR5 rumours come from?
I think they are mainly coming from the fact that PGR3 was a launch title. That's why I am hoping for some Kameo 2 and PGR5. Also wouldn't mind seeing Fallout 4 even though Fallout wasn't a launch title.

Oh so nothing concrete? I haven't read any PGR news in a long time but I seem to remember it being pretty dead as a franchise. Who would develop it? I doubt T10 would be given they didn't even develop their own spin-off game.

Most of the PGR crew has been working on the Forza games for quite a few years. I believe since Forza 3. So they are still around and keeping plenty busy with Forza. It would not be out of the question at all for them to fire up the PGR franchise again. In between working on Forza.

Yeah but they're under the T10 umbrella so it's not like they can just develop PGR on the side. It'd be a huge project that needs a full developer behind it.

Playground Games, possibly? They are supposed to have developers from Bizarre Creations.

Possibly yeah but they may already be working on another Forza spin off. We'll find out tonight hopefully, even if they don't really focus on games I'm pretty sure they'll be revealing a lot of the launch titles, just as Sony did.

The team of bizarre Creations was splitted. The guys and girls went in small groups to many various developers.

Well, I hope and think that we rather see a FM 5 at E3 than a totally dead series. PGR was dead after 4 and even the team doesnt excist any more. The question is, if Microsoft revived PGR. And furthermore what new features and improvements a Forza 5 will bring.

But I think that Microsoft has a big potential. There are so many game series they could have filled with new life and maybe some great exclusive deals.

With the rumoured partnership with EA, I hope that we will see Porsche in Forza from the start and maybe in PGR too.
