Added the ballast (I put weight in the REAR of my FWD vehicles in reality so its counterintuitive for me to put in the front, but I guess the difference being these are Comfort Soft tires compare to the Toyo 888 I run).

GT5 settings are hilarious sometimes.

It's nothing like real life, for sure.. a fast set up for a real FWD car would have a stiff rear to reduce understeer, but GT5 doesn't represent FWD physics (or AWD) properly.

In GT5, the weight at the front adds traction, but means you need to stiffen all the other settings to manage the weight whilst turning. But this makes it stiff/heavy, it understeers like a shopping trolley... so you add -ve rear toe to make the car turn better.

This set up would be un-drivable in real life... if -1.00 = -1* of toe, most real cars would feel VERY unstable set up like this.

Better tyres would help as they would increase traction and reduce the need for weight at the front... leading to a better handling balance and less need for -ve rear toe to get the car to turn.

Yep, driving style and get right gearing. After 5 laps, shaved off 0.7sec to 2:27'250 with my own "ghost car". Maybe it's not impossible to get to high 2:25's ? But the hairpin is a pain in the butt, tricky as hell.... Loosin' time and the car mostly there! :-(

I call it off for today! Im ok with pos 493rd over all, in just few hours of playing. Now it's time for few more beer and get my arse to a BLACK SABBATH concert in Stockholm, Sweden @ Friends Arena!! L8'r all and Mega Thanks for ya tips!

About dirt oil ! is good or not ? which the best mileage on this car ?

thanks for the reply in advance !

I tried dirty oil in the integra '03, it seemed faster with clean oil

I think dirty oil works best when detuning a car to fit a lower PP

Small improvement too 2:25.497 for 167th been running 0/10 bb sounds stupid but helps turn in a lot with my driving style also put rear camber to 2.2 also helped

Going to try that BB 0/10, I did early on and have been running 2/10 as of late. Need to improve by .208 to match your time. Damn last chicane and braking too late when ahead of my ghost. Great time Skyline...

It doesn't work for this car

Well, since you say it doesn't work, I guess I'll keep my dirty oil car to myself. ;) Oh, by the way, just improved to 2'25.525. :sly:

Anyone else having connectivity problems while doing this event? Things seem to be running really slow for me as far as updating the times and stuff and its even stopped responding a few times where I just had to quit the game and re-start. I've done the usual fixes and things are still just crawling along. Tend to think its a problem with the servers since my laptop is running fine.

EDIT: nvm, things seemed to have mysteriously sorted themselves out as far as the connectivity issues go.

I have a 6500km honda, and it is much slower than a brand new

The acceleration is horrible

Mine is at 12,000 miles and is able to have ALL upgrades (except turbo) and still be under the required PP level and is quite a bit faster than my original car. To each his own I guess, I myself will stick to my dirty oil car and will continue to put the miles on so maybe at one point I will be able to install a turbo.

I've red lapped a low 25 with only just messing up final chicane went in way to hot from 130r but that brake balance really works well gets a very controlled drift from rear on turn in

Was looking promising to improve earlier but then the neighbour knocked on the door and we had a barney f ing and blinding so that put me off my stride, have another car tomorow, good fun this :)

Lot of great improvement by everyone Congrats! :gtpflag:

I was able to get back in the saddle again today .. improved about a half sec (so far) to 2:26.724. Actually kinda enjoying this one. Thought it would be a disaster w/ an FF car. I owe it all to great friends and to GTPlanet!!

Thanks everyone for posting tunes, tips, and for the car shares!! 👍

Stotty's transmission settings really helped me. I've improved slightly to a 2:23.665, but I ruined many .5s and .4s along the way. :grumpy:

Damn UCD just spat out 2 more integras - '95 and '98, both high mileage so I'll test your dirty oil cargo

I'm using the one from the NCD but I guess it shouldn't make any difference. Let me know how it goes for you Jim. All I can tell you though from my perspective is that it is working for me, as seen through my improvement plus the new found time that I am leaving on the track, which I am estimating to be around .500 at the very least.

Looking at power to weight ratio, it showed a small advantage on the '03. That said, I don't really notice much time difference.

The '95 integra with weight reduction is 901kg, 248 hp. Very tail happy. Surprising how different each of them handles

Dirty oil trick doesn't work anymore since more than half year ago, PD modified this in a PP update.

Dirty oil is only useful to fit a car in a PP category where it doesn't belong.

Interesting, never heard of this PP update before, I'll test this dirty oil + high mileage on my Integra, see if I can find the perfect balance of mile, dirty oil and HP/torque with all upgrades ( Stage 3 + Turbo ) + Max ballast. Compare this to one with low mile and clean oil, should be fun.

By the way, those who are in sub 2:24 or low 2:24, do you guys use chassis reinforcement ? Does it benefit the car ( Integra DC5 in this case ) ? I'll share the high mile + dirty oil + all upgrades on my sharing account sometime today ( aim to have 100% power - no limiter )

Integra R DC2 '95....61,679 Miles

Install all parts except turbo.

Dirty oil-------23.6kgfm - 275hp - 901kg - 464PP - 3.22 kg/bhp

Rebuild motor -24.1kgfm - 275hp - 901kg - 464PP - 3.22kg/bhp

And here's the numbers from GT Auto
464PP -(oil change) 471PP - (rebuild motor) 478PP
275hp....................288hp........................304hp

No noticeable difference between dirty/clean oil on this car

Funny that some of you guys are saying that running with dirty oil is not beneficial. I have to disagree with you however as I have been actually running and testing the car myself and have seen a noticeable difference. Maybe you guys are not seeing it in the same way I am. No, it does not work in the same way it did with the 2J for example, but what it does do is lower the PP in a way that you can fit more of the tuning parts and use less ballast/less power limiter. Maybe I'm not explaining it in the right way, but at any rate, yes there is an advantage to having a high mileage car. Believe what you want, but I myself am seeing an advantage. Mine is presently at 14,000 and counting. At this point, I am able to have all tuning parts and have power limiter at almost 100%, which is where the advantage comes from in this case. If people wanna doubt me that's fine, I just kow what I'm seeing through my testing so far. It may not be a big advantage, but an advantage is an advantage none the less. I'll end my part of the discussion here, as not to cause a ruckus, and be on my way. Peace and happy racing. 👍

I am experimenting now :) Spoon Integra replica with mileage so high, it won't add anymore  Comparing to brand new + oil change + engine 3 + all upgrade except turbo at 317HP/200 ft lb, the Spoon DC5 replica only have 280HP/177 ft lb at max mileage and dirty oil ( all upgrades + engine 3 - no turbo )

For tracks like this one or previous mid field what matters is to know how to get every corner in the fastest way and being able to do this on regular basis. If you check out the first 10 replays you will find quite big differences between split times, that shows that all of those racers could have gone faster and the their ideal time it's a lot faster.
I am now at 2:24.9 and every time a hit around 2:25.1 I do it with 0.3 differences between best lap splits. Putting a good lap it's all about experience, not setting, tuning or whatever.
Top racers are there because they are the best sim racers for this combination and they have decent cars, not just because they are lucky and have good cars.

Will you share it Cargo?

I will share the experimental max mileage red oil Spoon DC5 Street version replica - it uses real world suspension setup - Spring and Damper from KW v2 Coil Overs ( tested several brand spring and damper combo - all great, but I pick KW - v1 used on Eibach brand), roll bar and alignment ( camber/toe ) from an AutoX Integra setup forum thread. I tried to replicate the weight and distribution as close possible to the real life one, at 62/38 ( integra JDM spec ) and 1070+kg to simulate weight reduction. The max steering/turning angle has also been adjusted to that of the real car, I had to consult with a buddy of mine who is a mechanic ( google was not very friendly ), getting the manual and got 36 degree +- 2 :) So I used 36 degree for this particular tune to reflect the real car ( it works like a charm ) - oh, also 1.5 way LSD and custom transmission.

The car has 261+PS at 450PP, running front bias brake balance 9/3 as a real one would. I like the handling much better than the physics exploit tune ( whacky spring, damper, ARB, toe and BB ) - The car is in Spoon Yellow. Not a top ten tune of course ;) but should roughly reflect what a real car would do at Suzuka if driven in GT5 within 450PP and comfort tires limitation.

Car is shared on GTP_Orido.
