Went away for a few days, back today, thought I'd try the Porsche again and knocked over half a second off my previous best!
Now "down" to 1:44.5xx which is only 0.63% off silver..... I can almost smell it! 😀
Somebody mentioned before that taking a break for a couple of days helps, and it did for me. Thanks for the tip.

Did it with the BRZ.
That's it for me. Turn 10 (La Caixa I think it's called?) was the killer for me. 😰
Is that the tight one? Yeah I struggle with both that and the obvious 7/8. I find 7/8 much easier in the Porsche and that's why I usually end up in it, 10 Yeah.... When to turn in, when to get on the power, what gear to be in, what day is it!?!? All a mystery to me

Oh and.... GREAT LAP!! Well played sir tips hat

Oh wow.... that's fun, ..... we have another alien here,
that's a realy nice time!, congratulations :):):):bowdown::bowdown:
Far from it. 😂 I believe 1:39 or lower only classifies as alien territory.

That should be it. I've seen my ghost stroll past me at that corner way too many times. 😹

Here are the mid-TT statistics. It is very similar in profile to Nürburgring in the Cayman.

In terms of ranges:
Under 1:39.000 = 1
Over 1:39 but under 1:40.000 = 81
Over 1:40 but under 1:41.000 = 1,125
Over 1:41 but under 1:42.000 = 9,739
Then from 1:42.000 to 1:42.100 there are 1,261; more in 0.1 seconds than in the full second from 1:40 to 1:41.

We are not all aliens...
Is there anyone on the forum who drives in AUTOMATIC mode?
(As today, in manual mode I am slower than in automatic mode)
If so, could you post a video of how you do it?
Normally I am between 8000-10000, last week in the top 3000 and this week, 17000!!!!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm doing it completely WRONG.
Thanks for the help
I usually use manual transmission but switched to automatic for a couple of laps. It is a bit of a messy lap but hopefully helps.

it won't wash wide like the 911. It is much lazier on entry though.
Excatly, you can floor it and it just sticks and goes, but it just won't turn in initially compared to the 911 :) Totally different driving styles required, but similar times at the end of the lap. I destroy my 911 time in the 1st sector with the BRZ, literally 3 or 4 tenths faster, but then I lose half a second in the 2nd and especially 3rd sector, and at the end, still can't beat the RSR.

I bit the bullet and turned off TC and went manual. The RSR is much more forgiving to those making the move - the gear ratios work out well for the track.

Turning off TC makes a bigger difference in time than manual gears IMO. However, auto gears and TC0 will end in disaster as it will drop to too low of a gear for some corner exits and you will spin out

I'm continuing to goof off and test different cars.

I found another car that can get gold: the GT by Citroen. And surprisingly enough, I ran a new personal best (not by much) driving it

1:41:644

The Citroen drives as if it were an unholy mix between the 911 RSR and the Audi R8 LMS: good traction out of low speed corners, good rotation off throttle, but it can over-rotate on high speed corners if you don't hold some throttle. There's similar rotation nastiness when you're coming off hard braking for hairpins. Curbs seem stickier and more likely to over-rotate the car if you aren't ready. Not sure if that's the car or me getting more aggressive with the track in general.

It's twitchy, inconsistent nightmare fuel. Not sure why I enjoy driving it. Maybe because it's mid engine, agile, odd and French.

Please ignore how many laps I ran to get this time...

@Dan_Tes we are getting completely annihilated here, i couldn't even get to my old 41.0 thid morning, each day i have different corners that are getting worse, now sector 3 is ok, but corner 9 is a real pain in the a*s, out of the ten times i have 10 different entries, to much curb with the RSR resluts in full send oversteer, but most of the time i'm to late i quess.
What's your brakepoint there?

I should build it up, just set it to 0 and don't look back, learn how the car behaves, it took me somany miles to get to know the 911 again, and ofcours i have made some pirouettes, I most of the time by hitting the gras on exits ) but i think GR3 cars are quit easly drivable without TCS, just get a good feeling for 25% throttle, 50% etc etc, and be gentle sometimes building up throttle in corners
I took two days off TT (missed playing Wednesday all together) and put in about 50-mins this morning in the 911 (I did the 1-hour Spa race with it prior day) and was able to shave 0.537-seconds off my best time (optimal was 0.3-seconds faster). Went from 31,2xx down to 20,600 in the leaderboards. I might just put it on 0 tomorrow morning and leave it there and see if I can improve it any. It helps that I have always liked this track (seems this thread suggests otherwise lol). For the amount of time I've played this game, my feel for throttle gradient thresholds is still lacking (though much improved from months ago). Ugh need to close some of these big deals I'm working on so I can justify spending money on a wheel/pedal setup - especially since there are so many things we need for the new house we built!

Edit: Yeesh people been playing today! Just turned back on and now 22,141 ranking 😂 dropped 1,541 spots - smoked some 🔥 before playing and yeah couldn’t get closer than 0.3 of PB.

Edit 2: jumped on this morning and dropped further! Down to 22,652! BUT! After 89-miles I was able to drop from 1:42.798 to 1:42.5xx and jumped back up to 20,5xx - I took screenshots but not sure how to retrieve them. Installed PS App and enabled the capture thing but I guess it’s only future captures that show up?

0.5 second is a very good result there, that's pure progress!, keep that going!

If you you find a way to justify the wheel and pedals, could you phone my wife with the aswer?..
( i'm in the fase of "if you have a own room like a mancave, then we can start saving up for that, but first we need to do this, and this... this....this.....)

Ugh I am back but tired and hungover

Ugly session today and I’m tearing my hair out, not enjoying this one. The BRZ is clearly quicker than everything else but I just don’t understand it, even when watching quite a few replays of fast laps, what am I missing!? It doesn’t help that there doesn’t seem to be an easy to find tutorial video out there; all the usual YouTubers used the 911RSR and weren’t particularly quick compared to the WR.

I did post a new PB today but not by much, think I’ll probably give up on this one soon unless I have an epiphany on how to drive the Crocadubaru properly!! Let’s hope they come up with a more inspiring combo next time 😬

I'll save you the time and just let you know that unless I make like $100k more a year, my wife wouldn't be ok with it lol. I wanna spend on fun **** and she wants to spend bonkers-money on stupid decorations! Doesn't she know a natural gas line to the patio to connect to my natgas grill is more important than a bedroom set for the guest room!?! I mean we have a blow-up mattress with the built in blower to fill - throw some fancy sheets on it and call it day if you ask me! Don't get me started on her "let's hang out together" nonsense ;) lol JK I love her (most of the time)!
