Had a second session at BB. Down to 32.057, inside the top 200 for now.

It’s frustrating though, I can’t work out the final turn. I watched the top time, but he brakes on the arrows at 75 and if I do that I can’t get to the apex. I don’t think I’ve taken it the same way twice.

Speaking of the top time, he also uses a weird technique in turn 3 where he shifts to 3rd to rotate. Doing that costs me a couple of tenths every time. It’s like we’re driving fundamentally different cars.

A few more laps this morning and I'm into bronze territory with a 34.482! Still straying well off the track between corners 2 and 3, but no penalty, thankfully! 1.5 seconds for clipping a wall is a bit steep, especially when it knocks all your speed off anyway! :)

This is what I was trying to figure out, too. The first sector of the lap is relatively simple to follow and replicate. Turns 3 and 4 are a mystery to me how the WR is doing what they're doing. I will work on it some more today, maybe watch some of the other non-WR laps and see if they're doing something similar.

From what I can make out turn 3 is knife edge on the right turn in point and lifting at the right moment to load the front up.

Turn 4 feels so unnatural because to be fast you have to take the inside line which is awkward when we spend i time constantly trying to take the optimum lines.

I just notice that all the serious fast times have a car/pedal control I just can't replicate. Note to self: Practice more Glen!

Yes, turn 4 is difficult to nail down. My current approach is to brake and down shift to 3rd at the distance board before the arrows. But I just watch the ghost pull away.

Well color me happy 😊
I will enjoy while it lasts (until you ninjas start chasing milliseconds)
But hello Finland ninjas, heat up sauna 😁 here I come 😁

And if I know @Gomario JSP well by now, and I think I know what he is about to say... "It's time to chase 31:9**" 😁

Holy cr*p!, you freaking alien 🤣
Indeed 32.0 is just not done, if you bury the hatchet now it will hunt you forever 🤣🤣

Seriously quick there mate!

Currently on a 32.003 but seriously annoyed it's not in the 31's 😂😂. Optimal time at a 31.973 which hopefully can be doable.

What's fun about this track is that you can easily get in a rhythm and do a ton of laps without noticing. Having the top ghost on at 0.2 difference proved to be helpful.

Very nice time, so close to 31's!

I'm curious if you might share any insight on the last turn? That's where I'm losing the most time.

Said in the Brad Pitt oceans eleven way....

"You have to go fast through it, but not to fast then you have to make sure you are going slow enough to go fast through it. But not to slow, that is bad. So just go fast through it but not to fast and not to slow but make sure you are both slow and fast enough through it. But the secret to getting it right......oh the F1 is starting soon"

I struggle with it the most. I usually fully brake before the 50m sign then with a bit of trail brake try to steer in (sometimes touching the yellow line) with the goal of getting on the throttle as early as possible. I advise you to study the top time to get a better demonstration. I noticed he fully brakes and then coasts a bit get the car steering and then full throttle out. The understeer of the car makes it pretty difficult to get just in the right spot on the turn with the most grip.

I just struggle to be consistent with it.

I don't like these long sweeping turns at BBR. Took me quite a few laps to get a very shaky gold. Finding the right line without lifting through T1-T3 is all about line of sight and looking from the bank down into the distant right and then finding the right moment to transition messes with my head every time.

Ok,if you want to get under 32.5 at BB, seriously try this,if yer a pro just move along, this is not for you, lol.
Load the ghost of "laporty",he was #1 but was just passed ,new gold time is 32.727,this will easily beat that.
Set TC at 0
ASM - on
CSA - off

It will take a few laps but all you need to do is follow him,you can absolutely cut the left hand corner flat out, when he brakes for the right hander, don't brake, just slightly lift off the gas while turning, get back in the gas ,just avoid the left wall, its not hard, just some timing of when to lift /give gas /turn...stay off the curb on the right as you lift....as for the last right hander i was shifting into 3rd too soon, wait a tad,car seems to turn in better...

I did have one lap where my front end was in his trunk but didn't brake in time for the final right but it was there...

Modest progress, but that's to be expected on such a short lap. I have broken into the 32.0's but I'm still figuring out where I'm losing the most time. I believe I've more or less figured out T4, but following the latest WR ghost, I'm now losing the most time at T3 after the left. But for today, after 75 laps, I'm satisfied until tomorrow.

I don't know what qualifies as Alien tier, but I've maybe been probed and left with some Alien essence

Hadn't been on in a few days but I was still glad to see that I secured gold for the time trial featuring the Genesis G70 at Brands Hatch. That's two golds in a row for me! The current two time trials seem like they'll be fun, too.

EDIT: And I could see that nitrous is enabled for the Valkyrie since it has DRS, but what about the Amuse 350Z? Does that have an actual nitrous kit installed or something?

I’m at 4.99% lol

Easily done if folk want to share what they use.

DS4 with Left stick for steering and "triggers" for acceleration and braking.

Thanks for the hard work as always!

They can't have this count like a TT and stop the rest of the player base continuing their streak, surely?

There is a japanese only TT with the Shigeno AE86 in Autopolis that started not too long ago. If this one and the new USA Porsche TTs count for the streak, then nobody will have the full streak.

I've had a 1.18.9xx at RBR and I've been putting some miles trying to improve that and I've decided to just take the silver on that one. The more I drive the Valkyrie for that TT the more I despise it so I'm just going to let that one go. 175 miles later, I've not even been able to get close to my personal best. The fastest time I put down was 2/10th slower. I find the car super inconsistent. Even if I brake in the same place for each of my laps, the car seems to behave a different way each time....just really frustrating 😒

At BBR, after what looked like nearly 70 laps, I got 32.494....not sure how safe that it to keep gold but might also try to improve a bit on that. My optimal was 32.449 😆

Just did another 30 laps this morning, ended up breaking into the 32.0 range finally. Only a few hundredths of a second off of getting my target 31.9! Figured out it was easier yesterday to drop to third on that right before the final turn to get a bit more angle without having to lift or brake, so I'm now just full throttle (kind of) the whole way except for the final turn. Basically I just try to straighten out my car before dropping into 3rd, and kick it back up to 4th as I'm banking in.

32.044

Evening all!

It’s been fun catching up today with the thread and finally getting to try the new TT. Brands Hatch was another top 100 for me, although not quite as impressive as Mr @Gomario JSP and his incredible result. I shall now dub you Dutch Doodle 😅

AM Valkyrie and RBR is a proper challenge and I’d love more time to have a good crack at it. Wow such a fantastic thing to drive, very sharp turn in and loves trail braking… let’s just ignore the fact that it wants to spin any time you touch the loud pedal! Set a decent time today with room for improvement but only tomorrow to beat it. A safe gold at least.

The new TT is.. interesting. I don’t like it, it’s everything I hate about a TT (boring to drive car, awful tyres, boring track). However it’s strangely hypnotic and I found myself doing a two 30 lap stints! Short lap, very few penalties and no dirty tyres seems to do the trick… I’m glad it’s on now as I’m away all week and for me it reveals it’s secrets quickly unlike the formidable Valkryie.
