I usually play A/T but switch to M/T when I feel A/T isn't letting me go faster. I play on a DS4 with TC1.
Here you go. A barely gold lap with automagic/TC1/controller. Search for either "tkexpwytt" or "muffinbottom" in showcase.

We do, a lot

Probably out of my 30 laps today, fewer than 10 were valid. And that has been the case about every day I make an attempt.

When you look at our replays, it's just the best we've done at the time.
Agree with @GlockPants here @Chris30 - I probably get 1 clean lap out of every 12. This time trial in particular seems to benefit from avoiding constant restarts and instead just running lap after lap and building up the muscle memory… all too easy to look at the walls at the start and not where you want the car to go, but the more familiar you get, the easier that becomes.

I forgot to mention that the A4 license in Tokyo with the F12 berlinette is already causing me enough trouble.....

I'm very close to gold after 12,000 attempts, but there's always a wall to get a closer look at this sublime Ferrari.......🤣🤣
suite et fin ......after putting it aside for a few days, I struck gold tonight....😎
I didn't count the number of attempts.....😂
so far I've got gold everywhere up to IB.... now, the IA license....

and tomorrow, I hope for a new TT more attractive than the one in Tokyo.....

Good luck to those who toil in the Japanese streets. :gtpflag:

Back in the Mercedes for one last effort to improve. I wondered if 1:34.x was possible for me. Not sure I can do it until the TT ends. (Could’ve been different if I didn’t get sidetracked by the master licenses over the last week).

So in case I don’t manage to improve anymore. Could everyone just please stay where they are? I’m quite fond of my current position. 😈

First and only session at Interlagos, the track I love and the car I hate (well, maybe it's more the tires than the car).
Seemed outright impossible at first and 88 laps later...
InterlagosTT-chart.jpg

AT, so no crazy downshifting, directional buttons and X for gas - it really felt like the Civic at Tsukuba not long ago, but damn, I love how those turns flow so I had to find a way. I was stuck with a lap really slow in the first sector and very solid on the rest that was 0.1 off gold. Took me few dozens of laps (90% of them red) to finally nail this m********* line.

I'm very pleased with this time, not only dipped into 35s, but also managed to get ahead of @Jeje6410, that is a first since... seems like forever. 👋

My thumbs are wasted...

Can’t find the last 8 tenths for gold at Interlagos but had fun anyway

Don’t usually get even that close with road cars, I really like this AMG.

Not even going to bother with the wall avoidance one, just doing a load more laps at Brands Hatch and see whatever tomorrow brings.

Well, I'm not too far behind you, I'm at 1'38.831, in the bronze range. I gave up after 25 consecutive laps, finally getting the time I got so I think I'm good here. It was a smooth car to drive but it was hard finding the best braking points and exit speeds on the track.

What a machine!

From my perspective, PD did a fantastic job with the 400R's handling. So smooth and balanced. The less you force it, the more it wants to go. So much fun blasting around the Expressway in this thing! After only breaking into the 22's yesterday I was a bit surprised, that my PB today took only a few laps warming up and even beat the opt from yesterday by 1/10. Super happy :)

Thanks @Mistah_MCA for the thorough explanation in your video on turning points and gear selection – before watching it I was stuck at the brim of 1:23. In T2, I started using the upshift lag into 5th for rotation and if timed right, the car drives like on rails with 70-90% steering input and minimal (and sometimes no) lift.

How's this, @Mira-maki? Last night was a struggle to get that 35.1. I got in the groove much faster today and knocked off around a tenth and a half. After some victory donuts for getting under 35, I went out for one more session, because I knew there was more out there. Another tenth and half later, I nearly got myself into the 34.7's. My optimal, though...😈

Noonooo nooo that’s too much! ☹️
(Great lap! 🔥

Kind of wish there was more time left now)

Pretty stoked on this. Really feeling my progression lately when I get time to actually put laps in and figure out the puzzle.

I HATE Interlagos so much. Such a difficult place for me to be consistent. I was literally on my last lap and had a good delta going so I braked early and often and just slipped into the 35s.

I say it often and I'll say it again. Some of you in here are just unreal. The closer I get to consistent gold, the more I realize just how badass some of these times are.

🍻🍻 Cheers all.

I hate coming back to a TT with a few hours to go to find I’d dropped to 3.04% or 43/1000s off.

It took 1/2 hours of remembering how to drive this car and being teased with a 3.02% time but I finally did it with a couple hours to go.

I haven’t paid much attention to the TT in the last few weeks, so it was nice to get gold on this one.

I was going to do a daily B race after this but now I’m having a celebratory beer so that probably won’t happen 😁

Easily got silver with gamepad at Brazil. I'm pretty close to gold. But in Tokyo I can't get past bronze without getting annoyed and shutting it off. I absolutely despise this track and its penalties. Complete waste of time just to get a single clean lap.

What is this weird downshifting thing you're doing? Why are you slamming it down to the lowest gear you can get?

The gearbox physics in GT are, shall we say...a bit flawed? Jamming it into lower gears creates extreme engine braking while also allowing the car to rotate more easily into the corner. I really try to avoid it if possible because it's unrealistic. And honestly I didn't mean to do it as hard as I did. But if you watch replays of the top times, it's necessary if you want to be up the leaderboard.

400R at Tokyo - 1:22.880

200+km, but I finally got a good lap. This track is sick. It's my favorite to do custom races with JDMs. One thing that helped me is driving with bumber cam. Easier to get used to brake and turning points.

I'm in love with the 400R, it sounds so good. The only thing I dislike about this TT is that I'm now realizing how beautiful a blue 400R is and how long I'll have to wait until I see this car at the LCD again :banghead:

Interlagos I only got a 1:37.579, enough for silver.

Tokyo is killing me. I was lapping in the 1:29s over two second off my prior, lackluster BP so wasn’t feeling it tonight.

Then pulled out @Dolph Drago lsp time replay and chased that. That helped me get onto the brink off Silver. So close but still so far. This one is hard.

Btw did I say how much I hate the walls in Tokyo? 😁
