Wow, it's a rough time but so rewarding. Got almost all the sectors right in this lap and improved by more than a second. Might be it for a while.

Saturday morning, cofffey and snow....and a weird handling Yaris 🤣, goal for today was a sub 46.
Had about 15 laps in with a few low 46's beeing .1xx and .2xx while my PB was already 46.0.8 or something.

Then for the first time I took look at the WR lap and noticed a few things..... T1 he is in 4th, im in 3th all the time, and the slow chicane he is in 3th, I'm in second.

I tried to copy this but immediately I was way slower than before.

Then started to combine, T1 in 4th, ( wich did lower my S1 to a .7xx and played a bit with the chicane in second and exit in 3th, feels quicker ...for me tho 😆....

My next error turn is always the last downhill right hander, but I noticed if you hit 4th quite early ( I did stuff it up on this lap, lost lots of speed ) you gain quite some speed before the last chicane...

Def. not my optimals combined but glad I finaly got into the 45's!

Ok I have a question for @half_sourly! What happens to our average placing in Time Trials if we don’t even set a time for one?? Asking for a friend..

Snow troubles aside (like the rallying, I just can’t get to grips with it and about a million invalidated laps was just about enough for me to be defeated)

Marginal gains in Tokyo and Brands Hatch. I might be in the minority but the BH Macca combo is BRILLIANT! Makes me so frustrated that it’s not open to all because I think a lot of people would really enjoy it. Great handling car, sounds the nuts.. I want to give this another crack before I go away tomorrow morning 😁

That's a beautiful lap. Smooth!

Today drove 73 laps around Tokyo to try better my time of 1:23:528. 75% of my laps were in my favorite colour (red). I came only close to matching my best time with a 1:23:592. During the laps I tried changing the controller feedback which was set at 5. I switched to 0 & also to 8 to understand the difference. The car felt more nimble to turn but I realised I was also getting a lot of wheel spin in the final few turns after the tunnel where I would lose time. Once I switched back to 5, I was again able to match my mini sector time there.

Also kept switching between Countersteering (weak) to 'off' option as well. The ironic thing is the difference is too minimal (at least for me) to make a bigger difference in getting my best lap time down.

But driving around Tokyo at night in the amazingly sounding 400R is fun & will keep trying. I'm firmly in the Silver category but a few tenths away from Gold so I can make it as my optimal best time was a 1:22:707.

Had my first run with the Yaris despite my better judgement - turns out I should have listened to myself. I’m as slow as a snail taking his time, but now I’ve got an utterly pathetic time on the board, I feel compelled to try and improve it…. Which is a shame because I’m not a fan of the off-road stuff in GT, so now I’m going to spend the next week cursing myself for trying this TT in the first place :banghead: 🤣

Well that’s me done, no improvements today sadly but lots of fun with the new update outside the time trials (I LOVE the Lexus LFA please please please PD do a TT on sports soft tyres pleasssssseeeee)

No improvement at BH either, I love this trial but when you aren’t on it the P1 bites hard 😂😂

10 days away for me now; don’t miss me too much y’all and as always happy lapping, fwiends!

@Dan_Tes

Thanks! I have my laps shared on my page if you want to view it or load a ghost. I have yet to match that lap, but I'm still trying to get into the 21's. No luck so far, but I've had a couple days where the optimals were there. We'll see.

I'll upload a lap here if I manage a 21 and then hang up this challenge.

It's wild to me that I'm top of my friends list, mostly because there are no Finns!

Okay, it's better...

Pls pls pls tell me it could be enough ... :boggled::scared::boggled:

Cant't stand the randomness of turn 1, I just dont't understand it, I "think" I do the same thing everytime, but the results are vastly different. First sector can be 0:32.0 or 0:33.2 and I don't see the difference.

Also the restart so far away from the star line.
Restart-startline-turn 1-restart takes a full minute. And I can't even fathom how many restarts I did after turn 1.

Oh c'mon 0.001 really :D

I have to agree with Djolliea, randomness in snow TT is just something new. Feels like I can enter and leave turn with same speed and times in 3rd 4th and 5th even in some corners grip apex or slide on outer edge.

Plus being -0.200 before turn and existing with +0.200 pretty much doing same as previous laps :D

Anyhow I find it huge fun and since I still have some 0.-deltas, chase continues...

You are 99,99% safe and your time is enough.

Didn't have my racing hat on today - did over 200Km, mostly in the snow and at Tokyo. Am within half a second of a medal at Tokyo but can't manage to squeeze it with a clean lap - plenty that would qualify, but invalidated.
I was bronze in the snow but as of this morning I'm not - couldn't get within half a second of my PB.
Oh well, early night, good sleep and give it a go before breakfast! See if that helps.

Exactly. Take the final straight for example. You can easily lose half a second there alone if you enter or exit the last corner at a slightly wrong angle or get too much wheel spin. And it's like that with pretty much every corner of the track.

Makes me wonder how much more the WR time could possibly still drop with an absolutely perfect lap.

Man. I feel like a big boy. I've got plenty more in me as well. I can wallop the ghost I'm chasing in the final sector. I also made it through the bollard out the high bank after the off camber hard right halfway through. I think I saved the video but IDK. I was pumped to be under 46 so I may have not. 😂😂😂

Edit; I see why now all the fastest use a gear taller than I was before. It works. It settles the car tremendously and as long as you have some rpms left it'll lug out and grab traction. It sounds slower because the engine is not roaring but it works very very well for me.

Today's my festival - Diwali which kind of proved auspicious as I was able to better my times on both TTs. Yesterday I spent 73 laps & wasn't able to better my time but today I could do within 20 laps as I was braking better to enter turn 1 & the uphill turn after the tunnel helping to get better entry. I'm exactly (as per then) just 1 hundredth away from entering gold territory.

The snow TT was also fun & felt fun after playing it after a day's break. It's challenging but it's different.

New WR at Tokyo was posted recently. About 0.030 seconds faster, so not a huge margin. Looks like the lap was just about perfect except a slight lift in turn one that might have cost a thousandth of a second and also upshift to 4th before the finish line (not sure if hitting the limiter is faster or not).

There might finally be some contention here in the final days, so watch your times if you were barely in.
