Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2025

I just had a thought. Since this is a fully digital game Genki has the ability to add in more cars post-release, which means it is possible that they could add in more teams and wanderers as time goes on. That'd actually be really neat, having the Shutokou constantly evolving as new challengers come in and maybe even have teams actively entering and exiting during a session to give it less of a static feel.

Not trying to get into wishlisting territory here, but it's an interesting possibility.
If they released that content for free, that would be great and would make more people happy, but my heart is more like...

It's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. That being in a tweet and not official media is enough for me to dismiss my skepticism/cynicism for now.

So...did anyone ever have their own icon they used when it was an option? Or a handle you favored?

Well, their "Halloween" event is now in its third day, with no major events leading up to it.

1st: Midnight Cinderella (from TXR1-ITC)

2nd Cat x Cat (from Import Tuner Challenge)

3rd: Tokyo Jungle (from:TXR1-ITC)

Are these really just meaningless "Halloween" events?

Or is this a statement from Genki that this series of events is a new showcase for the teams that will appear in TXR2025, including not only the rivals from TXR1-3 but also the underrated ITC teams?

I don't know.

For now I'll take off my tinfoil hat and wait and see what they do.

Maybe they'd like to let them play the beta version and ask for their feedback and promotion.
And maybe in return they'll get some cash and the right to appear in the game as Wanderers?

Someone in the comments pointed out how some of the cars that have bodykits are shared from the 2017 mobile game. And after checking out, it's true

I feel like it's understandable they're reusing assets. I DO hope they are adding new ones not from the mobile game.

I think its also worth pointing out that the teaser isn't recorded in-engine and was likely created by a third-party so anything included (or excluded) should be taken with a grain of salt.

It's certainly not going to be GT "standard car vs. premium car" levels of difference, anyway. And touching up existing models to bring them up to current standards will be much quicker than remodeling everything from scratch, especially since they don't have to make a detailed engine bay, undercarriage or (probably) interior.

Interesting to see the Supra looks bone stock exterior wise, but has a large aftermarket exhaust fitted properly. It's been so long since I've played the old games, so I don't remember if that's something Genki paid attention to, but it'll be a nice touch if those sort of mods are visible.

That sneak peak was underwhelming for me. But hey, atleast it's something.

A survey about which view they prefer for the game. It's nice that they are engaging with the fans.

~900 votes... on a platform with mostly bots. Not sure this indicates much if anything.

And what does it mean? People have preferences so the game should accommodate all those preferences. There's no right way or correct way or proper way or only my way that must force everyone to suffer through or censor other's ability to play their way. It's just your way, whatever it may be, and it means nothing to anyone other than you.

Enjoy playing and be glad others can play their way.

From what I can gather it's more so getting on how players actually play the games themselves. Or whatever preferred view they'd actually like. I'm sure you'll have those standard views in the final games (once it releases), but the Twitter account itself was made to be more engaging with the Western Community of the games, as they do indeed want more westerners wishlisting the new TXR game. It's why they're being waaay more transparent than years previous.

That's at a least a thought you guys should really consider at least.

Or they are simply engaging with potential customers, you know as one should when running a marketing campaign.

Honestly, it's really not that hard to figure out.
