Times, kind of up for the final round isn't it? If so, does this mean that the oldest car entered has taken the win for the final round.

Maybe you're free to go ahead and start up a new round...?

EDIT: I thought you had the highest score, not Car-less. Sorry.

Yeah I do have an idea for the next round, I'll post it a bit after this round is finalised. (thats as long as no-one else wants to host something)

Top Gear Comparison Challenge #12: DIY Touring Cars

shotamagee manageed to finish in 10:47.431
Car-less was 2nd with a 10:52.903
Flynn77 came in 3rd with 11'22.429

Nazzii and AndersonG22 both failed to finish

Code:
Driver Car Points
======================================================================
Car-less	Skyline GT-R V-Spec N1 (R34) '99 130
shotamagee	Camaro Z/28 '69 105
Flynn77 GNX '86 105

Car-less has won with shotamagee and Flynn tied for 2nd. With such a large grid to start with, it is crazy that only 3 people mangaed to finish.

Congrats for winning Car-less and thank you everyone else for your patience.

Would you believe it - the Nissan Skyline is the best touring car in GT4!

Congrats to Flynn and shotamagee for getting to the finish line too.

Feel free to start your own comparason whenever you're ready. I barely have time to keep up with the current competitions without organising one at the same time.

As much as I would like to share credit for 2nd, that honor alone goes to Shot who should have 5 points more than me. I'll happily claim 3rd. :)

EDIT: Unless I missed points somewhere, Car should have 125, Shot should have 100, and I should have 95...

Shot, you gonna run the next round, or would you like me to? :)

If I do run it, I will not be participating. Therefore there will be no bias.

Top Gear Comparison #13: European Excellence

Find yourself a European car 50,000cr or less. Your car may be new or used, it does not matter. However, it must be a regular road car, not a concept, tuner, or race car.

You have 72 hours from the time of this post to buy and announce your choice(s).

* Do not change the oil or make any modifications to your car, yet.

** Deadlines will be set for each challenge, and I will be deducting 1 point for every 4 hours should anyone be late. Consider this the virtual equivalent to points being deducted for breakdowns.

Thanks to Car-less for the template.

Well, I was looking forward to this. But when I went to turn on my PS2 and look for a car, it said my game save was corrupt. So, having no money or cars, or anything, I'm going to have to start all over again. So much for 700 cars and a lot of tunes and things. See you all when I get motivated to redo GT4.

BH, I have an extra memory card that I can mail you, bud. Let me know what you need on it specifically in addition to what I already have on my save, and it's yours. :)

I don't think you should exclude yourself.
If you're making the effort to organise something, you should be allowed to participate otherwise where's the fun in it for you? 👍
Part of the fun of the real Top Gear challenges is that there's not a specific focus on just how fast things are, the challenges are varied enough that you can be fastest by miles and still lose. Especially if you get a -4,000,000 score in one event, such as James May got in the Van Tailgating challenge!

If you don't object, Smallhorses, I'll do just that. :)

I'll enter an '01 Audi RS 4 for 41380cr.

Color: Imola Yellow
Mileage: 0.0
Power: 385hp
Torque: 324.68lb/ft
Weight: 1620kg
Drivetrain: 4WD

No problems with that. I did look at the Audi, for the budget it has more stock HP than any other ride available. :scared:
If we're going to have a challenge to see how much
cheese.gif
cheese you can fit in the back of your car, you'll be a shoe-in for that one!

Kind of difficult to ascertain within the bounds of GT4 though!!! :D

Personally I chose not to enter when I was organising the challenges, but as I said to korza that doesn't mean he couldn't. It could be interesting to have the 'producers' along for the ride.

I'll have a look for a car in the morning.

My first choice would've been the Carlton, but I already placed 2nd with it in Round #11. Although the RS 4 has high hp, it weighs a ton. Plus, it's more expensive. 'Twill be interesting, that's for sure. ;)

Would anyone object to me sending the scoring criteria to BH-21 for verification of fairness since I am participating?

I'll Use the Peogeot 406 Coupe, specs to come.

Edit:
Car: Peugeot 406 3.0 V6 Coupe '98
Power: 187 Hp
Weight:1560 Kg
Price: 22500 (5625*4)

I want to participate, but I don't want to keep anyone else from winning. So here's what I'm gonna do: run interference. Say I score in between Smallhorses and shotamagee. Smallhorses was quickest, he'd get 40, I'd get 35, shotamagee would get 30. In the long run, my 35 wouldn't count, but it did cause a larger gap between the scores of Smallhorses and shotamagee than if I hadn't have participated at all. Best of both worlds, I think. :D

My first thought was TVR Griffith but smallhorses beat me to it.
Then I thought Lotus Elise but I couldn't find a cheap one.
Next choice, BMW M Coupe, but korza already has a 330i.
Maybe I could go comedy with a Peugeot 106 were it not for shotamagee in the 406....

So I eventually settled on a Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione from 1991 with 4WD, 192hp and 1350kg for 23,694cr.

Car, I edited out that requirement once I realized that there were only a few high-hp cars within budget. Comes with the nature of the used market, I guess. Anyhow, feel free to go for any of the ones you previously mentioned. If I'm not mistaken, there's another TVR that fits the criteria, too. ;)

I'm quite happy with my choice and there are still competitive cars available from the likes of Lotus, Renault, Opel and Volkswagen, and just as many again if you wanted to go for something obscure.

It's totally dependent on the used car market and your current game day, but it's entirely possible to pick up a used Lotus Esprit V8 GT, Lotus Elise 190, Jensen Interceptor or TVR Cerbera Speed Six within budget too!
I was also tempted by the used Renault Clio Sport V6 24V, a new Hommell Berlinette as it's one of the most overlooked cars in the game, a new Fiat Coupe because it's outrageously sexy, or a new Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V because, well, it's an Alfa & you can't be a serious petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa!
