I'm going to take a stab and say this will be an NSX and R8 stand off?.. lol, might keep my hopes up and bring out the old F40!.. Or maybe find a new ferrari of some kind

I was only saying last night in the room, how long will it be before the de-tuned Ferrari F40's will come out to play.

Phillip.

I think there's a number of cars that are evenly matched, which I think is down to the track layout. Well done Dave!

I tested a few cars last night and the 458, NSX and CSL laps that I did were within 3 tenths of each other with the 458 fastest at the moment.

I'm hoping that there will be a good mix of similar paced cars, but if not, Thursday and Friday will be a single make race. Possibly the 458 as it feels so nice around this track, but will see what happens first.

See you on the track 👍

The 458 can keep up with both tiggles, but i suspect the good tuners in here will come up with something special!

Don't think my Jaguar S type R '02 tuned upto 400bhp and 1358Kg gentlemans cars is going to keep any were near a 175bhp tuned down 458.

I can just about manage 1'38s in it.

May have to try chasing you in the Lotus Esprit Sport 350 '00 tuned upto 400bhp & 1350Kg

Did a 1'35s in this but that still going to be 3 seconds of the pace of the super cars.

Phillip.

I'll be probably joining in the fun on friday. See you guys then!

yo guys, am a new member as you can see! had GT a while and put alot of hrs into it but lost my passion for it as i couldnt find a good online side to it so hoping to do so now! Is there any racing tonight?

I'm not sure what time I'll finish work tonight but I hope that there's enough time for me just to squeeze in one race with you gents in a S2000 R1 Titan that I got from my brother,…..beautiful……….. And I'm not sure if it will meet regulations? as I haven't even found a car for this event yet.

Wohoo, another victim...ehem...I mean member!

Welcome Evil Ray Mears 👍
We'll be racing quite soon, I or Phil (GTP_Eriba) will be opening a room and posting the room number, so keep an eye on this thread.

Don't go leaving your bear traps on track though!

I don't see any other documented proof of last weeks fastest lap so I do believe…… Mr A has it.

Mr A your Supra RZ will be delivered soon. Unless I’m mistaken and I missed something.

Well if everybody is happy I shall award Tom with a Supra RZ, Well done Tom. It comes with a full engine rebuild, full body rigidity and a brand new set of wheels. Enjoy.

I really prefer Ferrari's at a stock setting, tuning them is really messed up... but have one for you none the less that is very consistent around this track.Works with the 430 aswell

Weight stage 3 and ballasted to 1350, -35 at the rear.
Car should be 46-50 on the wheels

Engine stage 3 no other mods. (it's how the car was sitting in my garage)
The whole torque range on rev limited cars is weird with HP sprung races as the setting is basically giving your car a tractors level of torque then nothing, but meh

Transmission 310. Slowest corner is in 4th gear

LSD 20
accel 30
decel 40

10/-3 Ride hieght
14.5/12.3 springs
5/5 Dampers
5/5 dampers ( I don't actually know what dampers do )
4/4 anti roll

1.6/0.8 Camber angle
0.00/0.00 Toe

Tracks cool, so kudos to Dave
... It's a bit hard on a controller and small screen as it's really about smoothness and flow to get a good lap time. Setup should dive you into the 1'31's

My two cents on the weekend races would be the stock Corvette 09 take on the Stock Viper ACR... There pretty close in PP with the viper having more downforce and the corvette being lighter with more power

cheers

Looks like I missed out on some good fun today (and for the last couple of months :^} I wish I was a bit of a quicker study when it comes to new tracks, especially momentum courses.

I thought I'd bring a little class (emphasis on "little" here :) and show up with some Detroit-Iron, but I got started too late this afternoon. I have a nicely pimped-out Chisler 300C, which gives up more than 75 kilos, but if you'd spot me the power-to-weight ratio, I'll take the penalty in the corners and under braking. ;^) I think it comes with plenty of cup holders. Too bad Cadillac decided not to participate in GT5, they're actually putting out some decent hardware these days.

I do have a white 300SL with a bit of a cheesy tune (60/40 weight distribution!?!), so I'll try to make it to Phillip's event this afternoon (evening), if there's room on the grid? I haven't had access to the track yet, so I'll plan on a rear-guard action and try to not be too much of a nuisance. The E-type reminds me that the only one I've ever actually driven was powered by a small block Chevy V8 :). I'm not sure that was an improvement. BTW, did the E-type have inboard discs at the rear? Regardless, I'll try to get a black one ready as well.

Hopefully there's room for a hacker... Cheers!

Nice to see so much interest in the first Wednesday special day at TCR even as far afield as sunny California USA by TwistyBits, now I know you may not be use to this sort of unpredictable British weather in the sunshine state, so 10/10 for braving it.

A late change to the details its ok to use any colour if you wish.

So here it is for one Day / night only Wednesday 25th

TCR @ GT-Park E-Type & 300SL coupe.
Track designed by turbonato

This track set in the rolling hills is prone to the rogue downpour, race was postponed due to the heavens opening up at mid day, there could be still a fair bit of standing water and I would not rule out another sudden downpour during the race, hopefully not enough to bring out the yellow flags..

The weather could clear up for some good classic racing with warm sunshine, but be warned its notorious here for rain, it could come back at anytime.

Come armed with Sport Soft’s & Intermediates or wets Only.
It could be very unpredictable here in the hills, so you’ll have to talk to your pit crew about tyre choice

Please do not use RH, RM, RS tyres

Wednesday fun & relaxation (requested event)

Two cars Full Tune no Aero / Turbo

E-type 361hp – 1038kg – 495pp (use engine power limiter)
300SL 378hp - 1077kg - 492pp

Historic Race day using the

Black E-type Jag ’61 but as that may be hard to come by White Merc 300SL Coupe ‘54

Love him or hate him Jacko was an icon in the music world

Black Or White is the song and also the theme
Michael Jackson tribute

It Don't Matter if you’re Black Or White
It's Black, It's White
It's Tough For You
To Get By
It's Black, It's White, Whoo

If you can bring both cars that would be great, as I would like to run half the field in the Black E-type and half in the white 300SL coupe, number of races in one then to be fair a number of races in the other.

I hope you’ll all come along and support me on a Wednesday that is if you can find the time in your personal lives.

This will be run on the same track GT-Park, so no need to learn a new track, but we’re not counting out using new tracks in the future.

Room setting will be the same except PP will be set to 495pp

Phillip.

Please read the details of the race day, come armed with your pride and joy and the tools, I've raced with you all many times, so I know you have the skills to brave the British weather.

Again the Black & White theme has been relaxed, that came about as in my garage I just happened to have a Black Jag & white 300SL and it just popped into my head (MJ)

Phillip.

Cool, looking forward to driving my E-Type in the wet this evening.
Was super fun going sideways when we were testing.

Sam, although I love the 458 round that track, I like your idea about using the Viper Vs Corvette.
I haven't used the Viper yet, so the event may change to a 1 or 2 car race.

What other ideas to you chaps have for a single car on this track?
Also, should it be stock?

I tend to prefer the single car races, as you know how well you're doing and makes for closer racing, because braking points etc... should be the same.

Anyway, I'm off to buy some string back leather gloves for driving the jaaaaaag!

👍

Had three members and three or four guess this afternoon, racing has been very good by all, its not an easy thing to get to grips with (sorry pun) and the mix of Dry, Wet and surface water races makes it very interesting. 👍

We can throw in a couple of spot races later too.

Phillip.

Anything new needs a review... This Wednesday fun event is a cool idea, I'm all for it but I have a niggle/proposal.

With these one day fun events you really should restrict tuning. Cars should be stock and accessible so anyone can jump in straight away, (the 300 SL was a good choice as i think you win that, so everyone is bound to have a stock version). Sitting in the lobby I notice that a large amount of people would have to join, jump out, adjust, come back then tinker trying to tune the car. I say GOOD DAY to that. A wednesday event should be a driver v drive deal, where you can more accurately access your skill around a track where everyone is in the same boat.

Now on to tyres, I was running around in comfort softs and found my braking points were the same to the 400HP cars and its a hoot scurrying around on a wet track, it's really not that hard... Even if you bump up to sport tyres you may only lose a few seconds a lap till about 60% surface water, but again it's still manageable and every one is in the same boat. (pun is most intended)

Watching the race the cars just looked tame and plain, as if the rain was merely an aesthetic function. So I say the wednesday race should be a spice up where the only variable is the driver... I know you can all manage a challenge.

There's my voice.

Thank you Phillip, tonight was very entertaining for me and things will grow over time, either way I loved it.
