I think I'm a game-time decision as to whether I'll run tonight. I seem to have caught whatever bug is going around my work and the sneezing and watery eyes were making it hard to drive earlier this afternoon.

just got done with a solo practice race. best lap was a 2.05.058. Having a problem with power sliding thruogh turn 9 so if you have to pass me here its probably best to time it so you pass me on the exit, and had a problem with over shooting the spoon curve.

Allergies maybe?

I'm guessing you are talking about the 2nd part of Degner. The big thing on this corner is to get the steering wheel straight as early in the corner as possible. So you want to steer with the rear a bit. So what I do is come out of Degner 1 as far left as possible, be really smooth on the brake application turn and while letting off the brake feed the wheel back to the left while at the same time giving a little bit a throttle to help the car turn.

This is a very easy corner to overdue if you come too hot through Degner 1. Hopefully this may help.

Psycho Turtle
Allergies maybe?

I'm hoping that's all it is... there has been what looks like a zombie virus spreading through my work lately. I was running low 2:03's earlier with a full tank. Got down to 2:01.500 with 60 liters in, but didn't come close to matching it. Ran a few consistent 2:02.1's for about 4 or 5 laps and got my brake balance set.

Thanks for the input Choate51 those 2 corners have always given me problems.
I think I'm going to try and be like Kimi Raikkonen and take a nap before the race so if I'm not there I didnt wake up.

Hey Guys, first off i want to thank everyone on how the G27 is really good, ive watched many videos on the g27, and well i just ordered the wheel!:) i get the wheel this tuesday, and excited to try this wheel out!

Thanks to everyone on the G27, im pumped to use it! See you guys tonight!

So this is the last race weekend with the ds3 woooohooo no more sweaty controller!! Haha:lol:

Sucks that I couldn't make the D3 race, but just watching these guys in D1 is amazing, the amount of precision they have while barely 20 feet from each other and the pressure! Haven't been this excited about a GT race in a long time.

Really run Division 2/3 race tonight.

I didn't expect to win at all, and some people may remember me saying "I'll be in the back the whole race." Came as a good surprise for me :P

Got 2 mini heart attacks in the first race though. My video Almost went out due to a faulty socket for the AV cords.

Also, saw a lot of great saves. Mostly by jay*doc.

Great racing guys.

Sorry didn't make it tonight. About 15 minutes before the race, my G27 made a clunk and will not calibrate correctly. Have to hold the wheel at 45 degrees to go straight. Spent over an hour trying to figure it out. Does the same thing with F1 2012. Emailed Logitech support, hopefully I can find a solution.

I have the same issue whenever I hook up my DFGT to my computer, haven't heard back yet from support, but it's fine when I hook it up to the PS3. ???

Great racing in D1 last night. Well, not by me... but by everyone else. My apologies to Pyscho and Martin for the incident leaving the first chicane with about 5 to go in race 2. I had a run on Pyscho and got side by side with him in the kink about 100 meters before the hairpin. We came together a bit, so upon exiting the hairpin I second guessed whether I should let them pass, and ended up getting spun when I let off the throttle. Wrong spot for me to do that! I could match everyone's lap times, but I couldn't keep it clean lap after lap. I wish I could use my constant sneezing and watery eyes as an excuse, but the reality is I just ran a poor race. Ill try and clean it up (or at least get out of the way in a better spot next time.)

No worries at all scarecrow. I was putting in some fast laps but had a couple mistakes in each race that really cost me. Race 1 was very fun and competitive up front with Drex and Garage father. My fastest lap was in race 1 when I managed a 2.01.09X. Congrats on the overall win Drex.

I only use it on the PS3. As I use it, it gets worse. After less than 5 minutes, it is off by more than a quarter turn. Bought it on the 9th from Amazon, may contact them about exchanging it.

Exchanged through Amazon, should get a new one by the 29th.

Your assessment is spot on. Therefore, I have no doubt you will do very well in Division 1. Consistency is the only reason I am there. In D2 you can just wait and it won't be long before someone makes a mistake. In D1 a mistake might not happen at all or at least right in front of you. You have to be patient and remember the driver in front has the right to his line and it is the responsibility of the driver attempting the pass to do it cleanly an incident free. That may not happen in Division 1 and you may not be able to pass even though you are faster in some sections of the track. Race the race, don't race the car. Welcome to Division 1! 👍

That is awesome, when the G27 worked it was sweet, heh!

No worries at all scarecrow. I was putting in some fast laps but had a couple mistakes in each race that really cost me. Race 1 was very fun and competitive up front with DREX and Garage father. My fastest lap was in race 1 when I managed a 2.01.09X. Congrats on the overall win DREX.

fixed.

I was psyched to finish 2nd in Race2. I had a rough first race with 2 costly 10 second penalties at the final chicane and also 2 spins, barely getting a tire off in the Spoon curve both times. Used most of race1 playing with brake balance to find a happy place :)
More practice would have done me good.

I got off to a quick start race2, but i simply didn't have the pace to keep Drex behind; he was very fast in and out of the Hairpin and gained significantly ground on me there every lap. He finally got me coming out of the S curves though through the Dunlop Curve which surprised me. RacingO had a strong race 2 as well and i felt fortunate to keep him behind me. It looked like Garage and Martin had some issues early in the race as they fell back a bit; even though Martin made a strong push at the end and if it had gone another couple laps, i'm pretty sure he would have caught and passed us (save for drex)
I was fast on fresh tires, but not much so after 7 laps as they wore down (a good 2,3-4 seconds slower). I do love that track though. Not so much in 4wd cars, but Suzuka is one the best.

Had a fun time running the combo last night. I had never run the mines gtr until yesterday and I like it. Had a really fun time the first race but fatigue got the best of me in the end. My eyes were so grainy I was having trouble concentrating and made many mistakes on race two. 6 Hours driving a real car before running a couple hours last night was a challenge, especially after the challenging first race that took all my concentration to stay up front.

Good racing as always guys.

Not so much in 4wd cars, but Suzuka is one the best.

I hope I eventually figure out the secret to AWD/4WD cars. It's interesting because some drivers seem to thrive with them. I'm sure driving style has something to do with it.

One of the tricks with the 4wd cars is the car will typically understeer under throttle, so it can be helpful when getting out of the hairpins. Another trick is to actively use the torque split if it's available to change the car's balance under throttle throughout the race.

Great races last night guys! I think we all made mistakes that's for sure, It was a tough one!

The BMW should be a little more comfortable I'm guessing.

Thanks Choate51, I need to figure out how to use understeer to go faster. In my mind when I accelerate I worry about the back end slipping out not the front end pushing.

That's the thing Psycho, on a 4wd drive car the front wheels will do some pulling. So on a hairpin move the torque split to the front a bit so the front wheels can do some work coming out of the corner when the rear tires are maxed out.

Great racing Saturday night guys. I had a good night for once. I think alot of that is from the AWD cars I love them fits my driving style very well. The track is also one of my favorites. Great battles with Ph1sher and myself in both races very fun.

Great racing Saturday! I agree with MBOBB, I feel that the AWD fits my style well, and the AWD helps pull me through turns I may otherwise spin out in.

There was a point in the race, I think race 2, where Johnny_Suede and I must have traded positions (cleanly, if I may add) at least 10 times. Finally, i met the max of my skill level and he pulled away, but it was a great learning experience and I'm happy to kept it clean during that time!

Great fun and great racing! Time to get the M3 broken in. Do work B-spec Bob, do work.
