TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

The Mines R34 was a blast to drive. Even though 4WD's eat their front tires for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, I like them for their grip. They may be a little heavier than the other drivetrains, but its the grip that keeps me coming back. I'm looking forward another 4WD race. *cough* STi vs EVO *cough* Oh, pardon me about that.

The racing seemed pretty intense this weekend, and I'm glad to be a part of the league. But I had planned on racing last Saturday (in Division 3, where I am registered) but when the race got moved in to the Division 2 room, I had no way to get in there, as I didn't receive the proper friend request from that account. I sent a request yesterday to the Division 2 account, and I haven't been able to get on since, but I just wanted to voice my concern so if something happens again, I wont have to forfeit. Thanks

Hey littleregret,

I'm really sorry you didn't get to race with us! If you had told us you didn't have the division 2 FR we would have either stayed in Division 3 and brought the Division 2 guys to us, or I could have messaged and got a FR sent to you for Division 2. Do you have Division 2 now? Hope to see you for practice tomorrow and racing again on Saturday!

Sorry about that littleregret265 we will make sure that you have the correct FR's sent to you. That was my fault.
If you could make sure that you have Turtle Town as a friend, that is where we will have practice Wednesday evening.

Thanks I'm not sure if ill use it tonight ill try but I'm building a cockpit soon out of wood!

Alright, figure it's time for some Enduro. Just got my wheel stand. Here goes:
Sonusfaber808, Red car with Gold Wheels...car #3. I have a feeling that I will be in Div 3 soon, but we will see. Thanks.

How do you plan on attaching it in the meantime? I only have a Driving Force GT wheel, but just got the wheel stand pro to mount it to today (my birthday is tomorrow). So far, so good. I just got fourth place in the Ferrari seasonal and my previous best was fifth. Could be a factor of just more practice; I still need consistent 1:38 laps. The wheel stand is cool...works as expected. I understand there is some wobbliness that comes with the design, but not too much. ANYTHING was better than the coffee table mount I had before.

I will never forget my first time with the wheel. The game is never the same after that, but in a good way. I had a trouble adjusting to it at first, with left foot braking and generally doing with my feet what my thumbs used to do. As for the wheel stand pro for me its awesome for storage. It performs best with both feet on the pedals. If I have to counter steer hard it might move a little. More incentive to drive smooth though. Anyway its good to have some more "wheel jockeys" in the race!

Just have it on a small table sonus haha yeah thirdroy I have trouble finding the brake with the clutch. Way to close but this is a whole new experience!

Just in case you don't want a cockpit taking up all your space......

Here is what the Garagefather builds and uses. This is one I built for a guy in Texas specifically for the G27. He also requested a special HD configuration which doubles the lower pivot arms to increase rigidity. The latest version has a single lower pivot arm like the original but made with 1.5" stock instead of .75" stock which is a good hybrid of the more rigid HD version and the narrower original version. They are all generally the same basic layout but can be customized during the final design and building phases to suit the needs of each customer. While I don't build this exact model anymore, the unit in this picture most closely resembles the latest version I am building. I don't yet have pictures of the latest version because it is not finished yet.

I use a DFGT on the original prototype (red and blue one below). I have made several improvements since then to accommodate wheels other than the DFGT but the basic design layout is very similar, just improved and refined.
My latest design incorporates the best of all the stands I have built to date including shorter upper pivot arms for improved geometry and rigidity, larger pedal and wheel mounts to accommodate larger wheels, pedal sets, and separate shifters, and others, just to name a few of the improvements.

The first time I saw the wheel stand pro I had already built my first Pro Am but I thought that if I were going to buy a premade unit that I would likely get a WSP. That being said, the Pro Am Racing Wheel Stand is very similar to the Wheel Stand Pro in function but is a lot better looking, better storing, and more adjustable, while adding pedal angle adjustment which is one very important adjustment the WSP and even costly cockpits like the Human GT Chassis, lack.

You can see from the pics below how it is designed to store with the wheel attached with the storage footprint of a carry on bag. I fits nicely up against a wall in the man cave or game room or you can put it in a coat closet. You can also leave it on its base and collapse it down to store that way.

I am currently building two with the latest features (one for me and one to sell) and I have one already built (last photo) specifically for the DFGT but I did go ahead and shorten the upper pivot arms on it after the picture was taken, so the stand resembles the first picture in that regard.

Also, I don't have a picture yet but I am building a racing bucket seat setup that will go with the wheel stand. It is going to be a modular setup so that the seat can be disconnected from the wheel stand and be used as a gaming chair or extra game room seating as well as be connected to the Pro Am Racing Wheel Stand to form a cockpit set up. The key is versatility through modularity.

It goes along with my whole design concept of a Pro setup for the amateur/average sim racer. For most of us, a cockpit is out of the question for several reasons including the size and space requirements, expense, and most importantly, the significant other who doesn't share the same passion for sim racing and will quickly tire of looking at the cockpit that is screwing up their decor.
:ouch:

Please feel free to check out my pics on my GTP profile or contact me with any questions. I only build a limited number of units per year so availability is limited. I am offering the unit I have already built at a price competitive with the WSP to move it out the door if anyone has the DFGT and needs a good wheel stand for it.

I can't put a price out there through the forum because it would be against GTP rules but you can contact me for more info and we can discuss it privately.

Whatever you end up using, you will never regret going to a wheel. It is far superior to controllers in nearly every regard.
👍

👍

You would put this up the day I receive my WSP.:banghead: Seriously though, nice rig. The pedal elevation feature is always on my mind. I'm enjoying the WSP pro, but if you can sell at a competitive price...yours seems better. Good luck on the sales.

You can unscrew the pedal plates and shift them over left and right slightly. This might improve the situation for you. I personally don't have a problem with it though.

Hey thanks FFK! Ill probably adjust it a little, and garage thats a sweet cockpit setup man! Ill post a picture of my cockpit setup once I'm done finishing it, thanks guys!

Hello guys I will be in Turtle Town for practice tonight at 8:00pm est. I will start practice races at 8:30pm est.
See you there.

Wow Garagefather that is a super sweet wheel stand! If you don't mind me asking, what is it made out of? Thanks!

Wow martin! Great photos. I have a question though, in the photo of RacingOtaku86 on the grid, was his driver actually playing Sega as he waited for the race to start?

Great sonusfaber, the color combination and car number you chose are both available so I'll get you added to the "Drivers List". I'll go ahead and start you in Division 3. 👍

You should ask Scarecrow937, he is looking right at him.

Thanks. I will make Practice tonight, but seems I will miss the race. I have to make a trip from LA to GA on Saturday morning and staying until Tuesday that just came up. I guess even if I could bring the PS3 and wheel I probably wouldn't feel like racing after driving 8.5 hours that day. I can probably still make the FLEX league, but I don't have much kart time. Thanks again.

Psycho Turtle

I'm pretty sure I spotted a Game Gear at the start. He passed me a lap or so in...if you listen to the replay, you can hear him collect the rings I dropped, lol.

if you're trying to get a head count, know that i won't be around for any of the races this weekend.
Not sure about the following weekend yet, but i may miss those as well.

What did you guys do when you couldn't get connected to the sever which says a connection to the server could not be established (ID = 1:5333)
