TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

Regular enduro schedule and time guys. Yes two races. I'm going to assume we'll race in Turtle Town unless there's to many of us. Then I guess we'll split into divisional lounges.

Nice to hear from you Dolph and Johnsom.
We will be running in Turtle Town on Saturdaynight at 10:00PM est. We will run 2 races, as long as there are enough drivers.
Thanks to everyone that could make practice lastnigt. It was fun. The car drives and handles very well.
That was a good pick.

I have 2 toddlers at home so I can only play games that doesn't require long hours or require focus but for some reason, they respect and don't bother me whenever I am racing or playing GT5

The Rogers Cup is being held this week and I have a ticket to see 1 women's semi finals match followed by Pete Sampras vs McEnroe (this is the reason I bought the ticket).

LOL something in common already 👍 I have twin toddlers and they don't respect nothin :grumpy: Hope I can keep up with you this Saturday I'm sort of a work in progress here at TRL. Sampras v McEnroe!! Hell even I would go see that! What woman finalist do you think you'll get to see? Serena?

NOTE: Do I have to purchase Twin Ring in order to participate this Saturday?

Yes busted have to buy the DLC. It's 5 bucks.

And what's tennis? I didn't think there was anything other than racing and Gran turismo.
Am I missing something. No I doubt it.

you should be around 2:02s, 2:01s or 2:03s.

ItsAllAboutWins
Good news and bad news. Good news is, I'm faster with a ds3 than I am with a wheel. Bad news, you all have to race me Saturday.

oh boy! See you there wins! You can't stop the fish though!!

Well, I think I might be faster lol I'm going by the WRS time trials. Normally CargoRat and myself are within hundredths of each other and the top of our division. This week I'm 5 tenths faster and I'm almost in the D1 times. I'm a D3 on there lol

Speaking of the WRS, I encourage everyone to join. It's quite fun seeing how you do vs other people. This week we are doing limited tuning Acura NSX RM '91 on Trial mountain. I'm 7th out of 25 drivers. Be careful though. It's very addictive.

Don't worry about keeping up with me... I am used to see rear bumpers whenever I race!

I am hoping to see someone else in the finals... no Serena for me.

It's like ping-pong, only outside, and not as exciting:lol:

Has anyone else noticed that tire wear is pretty much non-existent on the G37 at twin ring motigi.
I ran 17 Laps this morning on line with RH tires and tire wear normal and wasn't even close to needing tires.

Noticed same thing with the Asparadrink at nurburgring GP/D after 20 laps. Tire wear very minimal.

Is it just me or has something changed since last update?:curious:

I think it's just the hard tires. I don't like short races with hard tires, it takes tire management out of the picture (which should be a huge factor in a race). It also gives the "time trial drivers" an advantage because they can brake late, slide through the corners, etc., without having to worry about tire wear.

Randy, got some of the flourescent paints added this morning. I haven't seen what they look like on a car yet, but will send you some soon.👍

Flourescent paints!!! That'd be great cueball. Maybe a Flourescent green would look good on the G37. I know chrome red does.

About the tire wear maybe your right. I just don't remember being able to go 17 laps on racing tires with hardly any wear.
Could be I'm not pushing the car hard enough. I also noticed that there wasn't much tire squal when going thru the turns. Just seems weird to me.
I don't know weather to love or hate this track, it's got some funky turns in it to me.But I only downloaded it lastnight so maybe it'll grow on me by Saturday. lol

You're running the wrong car! Not the G27, it's the Amuse 380RS Super Leggera!

Not a banner but since the next race is with the Amuse it gives me a chance to share one of my edits.

Motegi Leggera Lounge Lizzard Practice

Okay I can't take it in my lounge anymore it's like GT5 hell. I can't listen to my own music & all by myself. I'd rather go race the AI and listen to my jams in practice mode. I need to make it to practice next Wednesday :banghead:. Aaaaahhh some Zeppelin just started time to roll :gtpflag:

I'd like to try the WRS. I need more side by side time if I'm to get any better. I can't afford a wheel and I hate this tiny lil DS3 but I've done what I can to improve on it (ie: silicon controller jacket & toggle caps with L2 R2 trigger extenders for precision gas and brake motion) It feels a lot better but w/o more quality PvP action or some intensive 1on1 tutoring I fear my skill level has plateaued. I like GT5 and being a Turtle but I'm feeling discouraged. If anyone has some info, ideas, former experiences or personal time (maybe 1 or 2 hrs) they could impart to me I would be forever in your debt  or name your price. What do you want? I can prolly get it. In the end if my greatest skills on GT are in the garage tuning or editing so be it :indiff: I wouldn't like it as much but I would accept it and keep on rolling.

I just run the TT's right now. Go over to the WRS part of the forums and read the guide how everything works.

I ran few laps in Motegi... average of about 2.05.00... that's good enough for me and I don't think I'll go any faster.

I hope to make it back home early tomorrow and join the first race.

Busted, if I had more time I would teach you. I used to do some training sessions back when we used to run a lot. Here's some advice that will apply to most corners, find a fixed object on the track to use as a braking marker before a curve. Be it the meter signs, a tree, a black spot on the pavement. Anything will work as long as its there every lap. Next, try to take the path of least resistance. Lets say you have a left handed corner, stay as far right before the corner as you can, use your brake marker to break and slow down just enough so that your hitting the inside corner of the curb and throttling out. When throttling out, you want to do it fast enough that it pushes you to the outside of the track. Also try different lines. The way I approach a corner is like this:
Using the left handed corner as an example, come down on the right side of the track, looking for any kind of fixed object to use as a breaking point. If I over shoot the corner I know to break before the object, if I break to much then I look for something past the object I found and try again. Also experiment with different gears for corners. If you're normally taking a corner at 2nd gear, try it in 3rd to see if you gain anytime or try going to 2nd for a moment then flicking it up to 3rd. Different corners take different techniques and braking. With practice you'll be going faster in no time!

I got down to 2:06 today & this will help get me down to 2:05 hopefully thanks W's taking a screenshot to use as my new background ;)

That's great busted. You see you haven't plateaued. Now you ran a 2:06 so concentrate on running a 2:06 every lap. Try running 2:06's for ten laps. Concistancy is key. Don't try every lap to go faster then that. Try to run that speed till you can do it every time. You'll be suprised how easy it'll be.
Guarentee you if you concentrate on that they'll be some 2:05's in there. Then you can work on 2;05 every lap.
And try not to jam the brakes on. Smooth inputs will make you faster.
Don't try to drive past your ability. It'll only hurt you. Smooth inputs and throttle control. It might seem like your going slower but you'll be making faster lap times.

Speed is not measured in MPH it measured in seconds.
Consistency and smooth inputs and and you'll find yourself up front before you know it.

Can't make it tonight fellas as I'm dirt racing tonight..yes I fixed the stick shifter and gear ratios for tonight. Ill be home later tonight but by then you guys will be finished or in the second race
