TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

Hey guys. I did about 15 laps on the GP/D in the RX-7 today and got into the 1:35's. That's half-decent, right? lol

I figured the laps for a 35 minute race. So I'd say your right on par. And you still have plenty of time to decrease your lap times before saturday night. Your doing good.

I've been doing a little more practicing and got a best lap of 1:33:511. I had a few more in the high 1:33's, and averaged low-mid 1:34's. I did 27 laps of that, so with my derpy driving, the race should be about 42 minutes long... Oh no.... XD

I just need better rhythm through turn 2-3, and the chicane and last turn. Les see how it goes. :)

Sorry I'm not there right now. The wife calls, therefore this dude abides. She's out of town for the next week though, so I'm good for Saturday.

Sorry guys still at work. I won't miss saturday though. My first car and track I tested and picked I really want to know what everyone thinks.

Guys great practice lastnight. This is a very fun combo. The car handles good and is pretty fast. It took me a few laps to get the hang of the car , but after that it went very well. Great pick Randy.
Thanks to all that could make it lastnight.

I enjoyed the practice last night... first time i've used the ds3 again after driving with a wheel.

I'll see you all on Saturday!

You guys that were able to make it to practice last, how's the passing going to be with this combo? When I tested it I did it alone. During my testing I thought about the ability to pass with this combo but not a lot. The car and track just seemed to flow so good together I put passing at the back of my mind cause I was just enjoying driving the car. Didn't mind being alone with this combo at all.

socket, actually last night I thought of places to pass... there are a lot of places for dive bombing since there may be several lines you can take. I personally, became too careful to make sure that the pass is made before the turn, safely while turning and the other driver could see my car.

It could probably be my lack of skill in racing but I hope we will not have any incident.

I forgot to apologize to Binoicderp as I think I nudged him and he went to the barrier of the last tight chicane during 1st lap of 1st or 2nd practice race.

Glad to hear, and glad you made your passes the way you did on the straights because dive bombing is frowned on. Your becoming a gentleman driver.

Well, i thought when you guys posted lap times, you were challenging us to beat them:lol: that's always how i read those posts anyway:mischievous:

got into the 1:31's last night during the race. Car is broken in.

Lots of places to pass cleanly here since with all the different potential lines, you can get run's off the corners and there are two long straights as well (just please be careful at the end of the back straight, i see many incidents there with people trying to brake too late; just stay on their bumper and pass on the long start/finish straight where it's much easier). Plus the corners are wide, and you can run side-by-side if you have a clean partner to do it with. Great Track and a fun car IMO. Unfortunately with only 26 laps, i don't think anyone will be pitting; But i bet the last 5 laps will be a bit slippery and interesting!👍

we used to do 45 minute races so pit strategy came into play, but i'm not saying we need to. These 35 minute races are fun and it allows us to do some shuffle racing afterwards on Saturday.

we did 3 practice races last night and in the final race Johnsom won by .060 seconds!

Ok gotcha. Know what you meant now.
Alright then I'll take that challenge mic. I just PM'd busted this morning told him I was running low 1.33's and that I thought there was atleast 2 more seconds to made up just from my mistakes I keep making. Every lap I can stay mid to low 1.33's fadt lap of 1.33:026.
Turn 1 is hurting me. Isn't hit my turn in mark every time. But when I do I gain half second on my ghost. And the esses's are killing me.

As far as the 35 min race, MBOBB's specs were 35 to 40 min race. I choose 35 figured the pain would be over quicker for me. I always dreaded getting lapped by you guys. I don't like the tire wear issue either but that's what the enduro tire pp specs called for. Maybe we should look at adjusting that if we stick with shorter races.
Wait, I think someone already brought that up, you I think.
Alright then I gotta beat 1.31.
I like the fact that everyone that's posted a lap time we're all within 2 seconds. Hopefully some close racing.

i did 1:35.2xx's last night but my car wasnt broken in... what is max hp? I may be able to shed 1-2 secs after I do the change oil.

i actually kicked the garbage can in surprise when I saw you fly right after the last turn!

most of the guys were running 1:33's to 1:35's

the car actually got faster for me in the 10-15 lap range as the tires warmed up.

This is a race car, so slick tires are appropriate and RH is perfect for it. My only point was if you want pit strategy, then use longer races (not weaker tires)

This is why it took Psycho so long to test ;)

I'm thinking my broken in HP was 334. Although i think maximizing your line in the turns is the direction to focus on to gain time. I was crushing everyone coming out of a couple turns and that is where i made up all my lap time. Plus, you can be pretty aggressive in the chicane without a penalty if you learn where the fine line is and are willing to accept the risk of a penalty/spin through there (i think it's worth .5 seconds to drive 2 tires on the curbing if you can do it properly, but it's risky if you don't balance your throttle input; and all that small time is lost with one mistake during the race)

Good point mic

Just watched the replay mic's crazy good on that last turn he sticks to the wall like glue and you can hear him bearing down on it. How F does he do that  I'm surprised with my choppy driving I was able to hold him and the rest of you off as long as I did. Great practice fellas that'll help me a lot come Sat Night Enduro
